Hunting Skills

Recently there are beans who want to get rid of cats as we kill birdies if we are outside. Hey, if you are having to catch your own foods to survive, then we kitties will do it.
Those skills never leave us. I was just sitting on mum's lap, then I took off since I saw something outside.

Obviously I can't get outside to do any damage, but deep inside, I could do it if I had to.

  1. We rarely catch birds because mum doesn't praise us for it. She doesn't tell us off either as she knows it is natural instinct. She tells us how good we are if we catch mousies, so we concentrate on them instead. If we were feral we would catch whatever we could to survive.

  3. Not much we can do about the instincts God gave us-we don't go outside so we have to daydream about catching something.

  9. I think some pack o' dogs is behind that silly report. Plus, what about all the worms the birdies eat? Who speaks for *them*?

  10. We think that report is silly & overblown out of proportion.

  11. I know I would be an awesome hunter if I had the chance - I have already caught lots of crickets and moths, and even found a couple of lizards in the house!

  13. Many long years ago, many Kitties before me, the Human moved her city cats to the country. One of 'em was unimpressive, but the other? Well, BooBoo turned out to be a natural born Killer. She hunted something and brought it to the door on the deck EVERY SINGLE DAY. Sometimes, it wasn't quite deaded yet. After a few years, they all moved back to the city and BooBoo became an indoor kitty again. The Human liked her better that way, although BooBoo always a good watch on the pigeons outside.

  14. We here have sometimes got a birdie or two, and we have never noticed anny fewer of them around. Besides we think that most outdoor cats catch mice and there sure arent anny fewer or THOSE around...

  15. We are indoor kitties living 4 floors up in our Condo. We have a deck to go out & enjoy the sun & plants. Every Spring Stoopid Mourning Dove burdies (flying rats) build nests in hanging plants and then they have baby birdies ever couple of month. The burds are dum to do that when big cats are standing right under them meowing. They do not resepct our teeth. They do not fly away. Do not blame the cats becuz the burds is stoopid. It is like they are begging to be caught, They taste stinko, but we can't resist the noise their flappy fevvers make. It makes are lips twitchy & spasy. Burd Brains. Cats can never be domesticated like dogs are. We is WILD HUNTERS cuz that is how we are made. Burd luvers should remind the burdies to fly away from Kitties cuz we can't fly....yet.
