Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday! Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper here, ready to give you the update.

Biggest thing is that it was nice enuf on Wednesday evening for mum to spend time outside with us! We chatted about the yard, mum read for a bit and stayed outside long enuf to start to see the fireflies and the first stars come out. Along with the nearly full moon!

Our biggest chore was to snoopervise the people who showed up to work on the driveway. They got out this stinky black goo and spread it all over. Mum says that makes things last longer.
Our last day lily has bloomed. This is Stars Shall Fall.  It looks really similar to the one below but is just a little bit pinker. Mum says in purrson they look the same, but the pictures show more differences.
This one is Picture Pastel. Mum is happy at that at least one of each plant she bought survived and bloomed. So she thinks she did purrty good on this. Hopefully another year and we will get even more flowers.
One of the butterfly bushes has just started to bloom. Another success for mum to have it survive the winter, grow and bloom. Now we have to watch for butterflies on the plant.
Lastly, the ornamental thistle. It didn't come up last summer and mum thought that with all the basement digging it might have been lost. Nope, just took a year off to rest up.

Guess that is all for this week. Love, Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

  1. Cool flowers! This year, I did not pull a single milk weed, in the hopes that they will attract a monarch butterfly or two. The milk weeds come up in the middle of the day lilies; we have just the old boring orange ones.

  5. You have a furry interesting garden kitties! Mom bean smiles to see the lilies because her mom used to grow the too. We're not sure we like thistle, but as long s it doesn't have poky things it should be okay.

Glad you mom bean got to enjoy the outdoors with you, with no mosquitoes!
