Awards, Anwers and Get Well

Billy Sweetfeets Gingersnap gave this award to me. I am not sure what it means but, thanks. I will have to think about who to pass it along to.
Answers

Goldie wanted to know if I yaked after eating grass - No.

Sniffie and the Florida Furkids - that new food I tried, mum found it at our regular grocery store.

Skeeter, KC and Ayla - commented that I looked like a really big kittie, "pleasingly plump" they called me, who liked my foods. Yes I like my foods, but that picture was of my side and my belly. This picture you can see I look a bit sleeker if you only see my side.
Get Well

Aunty Deb from her surgery. Plus any other of our beans that are sick or recovering, get better soonest.

ManCat Monday

Cats, no less liquid than their shadows, offer no angles to the wind. They slip, diminished, neat, through loopholes less than themselves. - A. S. J. Tessimond
Hope everycat and bean had a good weekend. Mum was around all weekend doing the normal stuff of washing, cooking, rug sucking monster etc. I napped and ate and napped some more.
The weekend sports report.

Packers - Lost and the QB may be hurt bad enough not to play.

Brett the Jet - won big time and set records.

Colts - Got the weekend off.

The biggest sports news locally is that the local baseball team The Brew Crew gets to play more games! They were splashing each other with fizzy beverages and were jumping up and down. Mum says that is a good thing. Do not confuse The Brew Crew with The Crew, George, Tipper, Max and Misty, who also live in Whiskerconsin. So mum will have to start watching baseball now too.

Mum took me outside on Saturday. She opened the back door to go scare off the squirrel from the birdie feeder. So she scooped me up to help her. Then while we were out there she put me down on the ground for a bit. I chewed at some grass and then wandered a little bit but mum was always close by, when I got to close to the fence she turned me around so I walked back to the house. It was warm out so it felt good to be outside.

It has also gotten cooler here on Sunday, so mum does not have the windows wide open any more. They are open, just not wide open. She had to get the grass eating monster out Sunday too.

Farewell to Nelson LaPurr of Meowers from Missouri. He has set sail for The Rainbow Bridge, until we meet again my furiend.

The morning glories are going crazy! All summer maybe we got a couple of flowers a day. One day we had 5. On Friday we had 14 and had 12 each on Saturday and Sunday again. The plant must like the weather lately, mum isn't doing anything different.

Getting Older

Senior cats may become crotchety and depressed, partly because their slower reflexes prevent them from doing what they once did with ease. Some prefer solitude, while others want to stay close to their family members. Cat a Day Calendar
While we all are getting older I cannot be considered a senior catizen just yet. But this week three members of mum's family got older. On Wednesday, Uncle Flip and Aunty Pam both had purrthdays. On Thursday Grampie had a purrthday. So happy days to all of them.

Mum came home rather late yesterday. She went to have dinner with Grampie for his purrthday and spend some time with him. Plus one of her cousin's stopped in to visit and stayed for dinner too.

Flower Friday

We are still getting our blue beauty Morning Glories. Mum thought they were all done, but now sees lots of baby flower buds. If it doesn't freeze they will get to be flowers.

On our cooler mornings the flowers haven't fully opened up when mum goes to get her newsy paper from where the guy tosses it.
Finally fully open and looking good.

The new foods I had, mum thinks maybe we are a test market area. Max's mum said they had it too in Catifornia and they liked it. But it does cost more. So keep an eye open in your stores. It was just in our regular grocery store along with all of the other kittie goodies.

Happy weekend everyone.

Sesame Chick-hen

Mum sometimes stops and gets foods that are already cooked and ready to eats. She and I both like it when she does Chinese. So a few weeks ago mum stopped and got Sesame Chick-hen and some chick-hen fried rice. Then in the store she saw this new kittie food that said it was people food for cats and it had Sesame Chick-hen. This intrigued her so she bought a package which has the two flavors. Mum says the also have some fishy flavor like salmon. So here is the comparison. Mum's foods come in a different type box with fancy slots to hold it closed. She is getting ready to re-heat some of the leftovers. The cat food is in the dish on the left. On the right mum's combination of her sesame chick-hen, fried rice and some white rice. She has to put hers into the hot as hell box to heat it up before she eats it. She prefers the hot as hell box versus the zapper machine for this, says it makes the rice crunchy which she likes. The two dishes, while they are called the same certainly don't look much alike. Mum says mine looked more like other chinese chick-hen dishes as the sauce color wasn't as dark. More like a chow mein. Me diving in to eat. First I just licked off the sauce and really didn't eat the chicken, which also had a few carrots in it. Little by little I kept eating at it over about 30 minutes or so. In the end mum says I probably ate 95% of the stuff. Still a little left and I probably ate at least half of what you still see here. Can I please lick what is left of the sauce from your plate? Thanks. Hmmm, if there is no bad odors, guess this is non-stinky goodness! Mum read the fine print, there is sesame oil in the sesame chick-hen. Guess that is why they named it that. So to compare then mum opened up the chick-hen pot pie on another day. I don't normally get stinky goodness to eat on a daily basis, this is a treat for me, I liked them both. Mum says they do cost more than the other brands of stinky goodness. She might buy another box, just because she does have the coupon to use.

ManCat Monday

Cats possess so many of the same qualities as some people that it is often hard to tell the people and the cats apart. - P. J. O'Rourke

This guy must be crazy if he can't tell beans and cats apart. Beans are tall with only some fur on their heads, walk on two legs. Here you can see a bunch of mum's furiends as examples. The woofie Tanner is an example of what is not a people.
Cats are short, lots of fur and walk on four legs. Example below, while I am not walking you can see my four legs and furs.
This weeks results,

Packers - Lost

Colts - Lost

Brett the Jet - doesn't play until Monday night.

Pirate Day

Hi Matey's! Pirate Dread Vane here. Today has been declared it 'Meow Like a Pirate Day'. So I am! I have put on my pirate eye patch and done my nice deep meowrrrr.

Dread Pirate Vane

Like the famous Dread Pirate Roberts, you have a keen head for how to make a profit. You tend to blend into the background occaisionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr!

Get your own pirate name from piratequiz.com.
part of the fidius.org network
So you better join in, or you will be walking the plank from the Good Ship Sassycat! Now it is time to hoist a few brews and toast the pirate brigade. Arrrgh, Mateys's.

Rolling Kittie Carrier

This big ol' box arrived last week that was addressed to me and I am not sure I like what was inside. I was checking it out and see that it came from Grr, Midnight and Cocoa and company. Mum didn't open it right away but moved it away from the door but put it over by my bungee toy. I could play with my bungee without even jumping. So here is the carrier all unpacked and ready. I am carefully sniffing it and checking it out. Mum opened it up and put me inside. I wasn't too happy about that, first I got picked up, second I had my freedom of movement restricted. Plus for a cat my size, I can't turn around. I tried, but didn't make it. Mum is not sure if it would be better if it were laying flat unless she is actually rolling me around. Mum bid on the carrier to help out Monty's family because of Sprout. She likes it since it rolls she doesn't have the extra weight to carry with a regular carrier. I don't go that many places so it won't get used often. It is not suitable to be used as a stroller on a daily basis.

I guess this is OK, I will willingly go into my other carrier, this one, I don't think so. But it was for a good cause, I will humor mum if she wants to use it.

ManCat Monday

Purring is an automatic safety valve device for dealing with happiness overflow.- Anonymous

Grampie was over yesterday afternoon. He and mum watched feetsball. Here is the results

This week we bid farewell to Pixie. I am sure you will have lots of bannaners at The Bridge. You and Roscoe and hang out together. Two newbies learning the ropes.
Lots of purrs to those who have been affected by Ike. I hope you are well and stay safe.

The Dare #4

Karl of The Cat Realm's newest dare is where we got to put in suggestions as to The Dare. Well the best dare has been voted on and it is from Mr Chen.

Mr. Chen
dares you all to come up with one creative, fun, useful way to save the environment and put a picture of yourself doing it on your blog!

So what do we do, we recycle! I am even recycled! Here I am in our old recycling bin, it was empty except for me. Why do I consider myself recycled? Well this is my second home. I was wasn't just thrown away, I was sent to the shelter to be recycled to a new home. So now I live with mum, living a good life, being reused as a loving companion.
Recently where we live decided to help us do more to recycle, we got these huge carts to use to put our recycling in and they pick up every other week. Plus mum doesn't put the cart out until it is full. Then the truck can drive by our house and not waste energy just putting a little bit of stuff in the truck.
Here is the big cart sitting in the metal monster room. Mum had to move stuff around to make enough space for it.
See it says recycling only on top, plus they now let us put more types of plastic in this to be recycled. We can do number 1-7 plastics, but not the plastic bags. But the bags go back to the store if we get too many.
There is me, the recycled kittie checking out the recycled stuff, bottles, plastic, glass, cans, paper and boxes. It is almost full, so mum will put the cart out next week on Thursday for pickup.

Can you do this dare? I dare ya too!

ManCat Monday

We have a theory that cats are planning to take over the world, just try to look them straight in the eye...yup, they're hiding something! -Dog Fancy

You bet we cats are planning on taking over. The Feline Domination Party is alive and well and asking for your vote. The other candidates will not be able to fulfill your needs, as much as they might promise.

I had an interesting weekend. I got outside and not inside my porch. On Friday mum came home and went outside to check things out and I was right behind her. She caught me quick before I got far. But then she walked me around the back yard so I could see the flowers close up.

Then on Saturday morning mum was working to spray some white foam to plug up gaps along the siding and the patio. When she was done she open the back door and out I went. Mum said some bad words, but grabbed me quick. I got some of the white foaming stuff on me. So I didn't get a tour of the back yard, I got brought inside quickly to have the white stuff washed off my furs. Mum said that it wouldn't be good for me to try to clean it myself as the stuff inside me would not be good.

I appreciated the comments on the post about the good ol' days. Like many of you, we do our best to keep up with our furiends, new and old. Some blogs get checked daily, others weekly and the rest when we can. Just wish there were more time in the day, but priorities first, napping and eating above all else.
Mum helped me add all of the linkies we had to add. The we went through the links we did have to check them out. Specially the ones where we don't visit often. Well, some of them are gone or haven't posted in over a year. Others were marked as private, you had to be invited to read them. So mum cleared those off my linkies. We don't want to send you to places where there is no new news or nothing to read.

The Packers play feetsball tonight for their season opener. Should be interesting to see how they do. I got my furs painted to join in tonight. Mum's work said they could dress down and wear team colors today.

Continuing purrs for Roscoe to get better. Lot of kitties in the CB are pulling for you my furiend. Get better soonest.

Purrs for Roscoe - Help Mr Milky

One of my earliest blogging furriends is furry sick. Roscoe from Cat Naps in Italy is not feeling well and needs lots of purrs. Mum and me have followed their life in Italy, plus keep them informed about NFL feetsball. They is HUGE Indianapolis Colts fans. They even had a wonderful Stouper Bowl party a few years ago when the Colts played in and won.
The colors of the Italian flag represent Faith, Hope and Charity… let us one and all have faith in Roscoe’s ability to fight this… hope that he will soon be well… and offer charity by sending our prayers and our thoughts to his family for a fast recovery… Thanks as always to Zoolatry for the wonderful graphic.

His mum has sent a long story on what is happening and it is on the Purrs and Purrayers Blog.

Please join me in purring for Roscoe.

Helping Mr Milky

If you want to help out ArtsyCatsy for Mr Milky they have an raffle going. Auntie Deb and ML have an raffle going and it includes something that mum and I sent to Moki to use to help him or other kitties as he saw fit.

So go buy lots of tickets, besides the cute bird house that we donated, looks like me smiley boy, and a original DKM snuggle. Plus lots of other goodies.
Actually the click here on the graphic doesn't work. Go to Auntie Deb and ML's site to get your tickets.

The Good Ol' Days

A recent post by my bud William brought back some thoughts of when I first started blogging. This was in November 2005, shortly after I came to live with mum.

At that time there was maybe 2-3 dozen cat bloggers at that time. It wasn't hard to visit everyone, every day, comment every day on every blog and read all of everyone else's comments!

Now there are hundreds of us blogging away, sharing our lives and experiences. It is interesting but no way can I keep up. Mum tries to help me visit as many of you as I can, but many times we just stop and read, but not leave a comment. We have 38 blogs to add to our linkies. But we do try to stop by as often as we can.

We have a great community of cats and their beans. Supporting one another in our lives, sharing our joys and sorrows.

I sort of miss the Good Ol' Days, but welcome all of my fellow felines who have started blogging. I may be visiting but just don't have time to comment. That doesn't mean I am not trying to keep up with everycat.

Plus I gots some awards this past week, this is something we never had when I first started.

Eric and Flynn gave me the BFF Gold Card.

From SophieKittie I got the "I Heart Your Blog". Like I said, I love everycat's blog, but just don't have the time to keep up. I wish the good new days gave me more time to check everyone out.

I gives both of these to all of you, for being such wonderful furiends of me and all of the kitties out there in the Cat Blogosphere.

Farewell Friday
We say farewll to Texas. I didn't know him well or for very long. He like Storm had lymphoma and his beans helped him to get his wings. Play well at The Bridge my furiend, free of pain and limitations. See you sometime soon.
