Squillion Day - 5th Anniversary

Hi, its me Virginger posting today for Squillion Day. The boys have allowed me to take over for this Monday. ManCat Monday will return next week.
I would like to wish all of my Squillion littermates, big, small and virtual a happy day. Today was the first day I showed up on Derby's blog in 2006. Little did mum know at the time what she started when she brought me home.

Now lots of you have loving homes throughout the blogosphere, we even adopted Flurries a little over a year ago. Flurries and I get along just fine, no fights or wrassling matches. Well, we are girls, that might make a huge difference.
Happy Monday, Happy Squillion Day!

Awesomely Stylish!

Our buddy Sammy Meezer handed this out to anyone who wanted to play along. We do!

We have to say 7 things about ourselves and nominate 15 furiends.

Derby will handle this one.

1. I am all four declawed.

2. This is my second home, my first owner went into a nursing home.

3. I preferred being an only cat, but will tolerate the runt.

4. For some reason my fur on my tummy went away two years ago, but parts of it are sort of growing back.

5. I don't like going to the VET and put up a huge fuss when I am there. Growling, hissing and such at the VET. Last time all I got were my shots and weighed by weighing the carrier, with and without me.

6. I love warm spots and like to nap on or in front of the heaty blowy spots.

7. I am a super friendly kittie, I love it when company comes.

Then we have forgotten where this came from. Sorry, mum you were too slow and your brain cells forgot for us. So Ducky will do this one.

1. I have super soft furs.

2. I purr lots and lots.

3. I love to sleep with my mum, but on top of the blankies.

4. I am declawed front but still have my back claws. They come in handy if Derby gets too rough with me.

5. This is also my second home, I ranned away from the first one cuz they was mean to me.

6. I am getting better about taking treats out of mum's hand.

7. I have never yakked up anything, food or hairball. Unlike Derby who yaks early and often.

If you haven't gotten either of these awards, feel free to take them and tell us about yourself. Each one you need to tell us 7 things about yourself.

Happy Weekend!

What We Saw

Did you find Mr Cardinal hiding in the tree? You can biggify the picture and mum put a sign where Mr Cardinal is.

Mum was trying to take a picture of a different fevver which you can barely make out it is so out of focus. But mum's fancy flashy box takes pictures really fast so she had several pictures where there was nothing. So as she was about to delete this picture she noticed Mr Cardinal back in the tree.

Hope you enjoyed our find it picture. Mum likes to take pictures and sometimes she gets stuff that she didn't realize. We have done find the butterflies and also where we had a bunch of fevvers sitting on this tree one time. Maybe we will find another good find it picture soon.

Do You See What We See?

Mum was trying to take a picture of one thing and caught something else.

So if you see what we see, just tell us you see it, not what it is to spoil it for others. On Thursday we will point out what we saw.
Biggify the picture and see if you spy what we did.

ManCat Monday

In a cat's eye, all things belong to cats - English Proverb

All the stuff in the house is ours. Mum is just here to pay the bills and do all of the stuff for us that we can't do since we don't have thumbs!

Happy President's Day to all of our US furiends and beans. Mum doesn't have to go day hunting today. But we see that she has stuff listed on the calendar to get done. So we know she won't be home with us all day.

Our spring like weather is gone. It snowed on Sunday, so we did lots of napping. Mum had the long 500 race on, but was looking at magazines, catching up on them. Doing stuff on the puter too. We visted all of our links this weekend, but didn't comment on them all. But it was nice to catch up on all the news.

During the snow, lots of fevvers showed up to eat, we had a good time watching them.
Even Mr Cardinal redbird showed up to eat. We saw both Mr and Mrs Cardinal on Caturday.

PurrFurMance Review

We each did our own reviews of mum.
Of course I have had a serious change of things here with the runt moving in with us. Which of course means less one on one time for me. I have to share treats, time, snuggles etc. Plus I only get to blog sometimes as I have to share what was once MY blog with that runt too.

Mum is OK, we get everything we need, specially lots of love. We probably don't have as much time to visit and be involved. Mum is too busy with her life.

I loves my mummy. I get so much loves from her, pets, treats, I get treated really, really good. Lots of snuggles. I even get to sleep with her, I really like that a bunch.

I am happy what we get to to with blogging stuff. I was amazed when I got here a year ago all of the neat kitties out there who like me have wonderful homes, specially us kitties who have been pushed aside by others. Second chances are a wonderful thing to have.

Jointly, we will keep mum! We will be interested to see how everyone else does with their reviews.

The weekend is here, mum even gets a long one since her work is closed on Monday! We have had really nice weather this week, all melty and such. So our snow piles are getting smaller. We hope spring is coming really soon.

A Visit

I had to make a visit on Caturday to the V-E-T! Mum says that if all is well I only have to go once a year.
Me inside the PTU, hey, I haven't been in this for over a year, I hopes I am not going back to the shelter!
Derby coming by to say good bye to me. I don't think he knew I was going, as he hadn't warned me and neither did mum. I had been sitting really nice with mum watching the fevvers outside, when she scooped me up and put me in. I almost got away from her to run and hide!
Here I am on the table at the VET, we were just waiting for the doc to come in to do his thing, which thankfully didn't include violating my spot 13.
Yeah, sitting by the weighing thing, I weighed a nice 8 pounds 11 ounces, up from 7 pounds 5 ounces a year ago.
Hey, where does this go, hmm, no where special. Not really a hidey spot or an escape place.
Guess I will turn around, so I can see what is going on. Then the doc showed up, listened to my insides, looked at my ears and my teeths. I passed all my test, got my shots really quick. Then mum got the carrier up and I got back inside on my own. Then she paid the bill and we came straight home.

Derby hissed at me when I got back, I didn't care. I just sort of laid low for a while. Then mum came with some extra treats. Derby got a couple and he tried to move in on mine. I hissed right back at him and he left my treats alone.

Plus Happy Purrthday to our mum! Have a wonderful day! I hope we get extra treats to cellybrate with you.

Mini-ManCat Monday - V Day Edition

It always gives me a shiver when I see a cat seeing what I can't see. - Elanor Farjeon

HiYa, Ducky here. Happy Valentine's Day to all of you. Our special wishes go out to Derby's Princesss Mia Bella and to my sweetie in waiting, Dora. Purrs, cuddles and headbonks to you both.

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes on my Gotcha Day yesterday. I did hit the jackpot with finding a good furever home.

Mum did a video of what happened yesterday. Kinda long, but it is less than half of what it started out as. I got a nice prezzie and we also had the windows open for a little time. Still kinda cold out, but it was sunny and melty out.
We can easily tell the days are getting longer, but yesterday, when it was all sunny, we noticed that the sun is now coming and shining in the back of the house again! Yipee. Now we can see the sun set again.

My First GotchaVersarry

HiYa, Ducky here. It is a special day for me, I have been with my new mum now for a whole year. That is 365 days. I must like it here, I haven't run away like I did with my previous home.

What have I learned this past year, lots.

First, that not all beans are mean. Mum is so thoughtful and nice. I gets so much loves from her. In return I purr up a storm for her, snuggle with her. I am not a lap kittie, I am a chest kittie. I sit on mum's chest.

Second, I had no idea that there were so many kitties out there who belonged to other great beans.

Third. I never knew a bean could take so many pictures! I swear mum is never without her flashy box.
One of my first pictures taken by mum of me when we first met at the shelter.
My first few minutes at my new home. Mum had opened the PTU to allow me to come out when I was good and ready. When I was ready, I came out and headed under the bed.
Then I came out and sat on top of the bed with mum. A year ago we watched and bonded over the 'Lympics. I love doing the bed routine with mum I sleep on her most every night. I keep her warm and just soak up the love from her.

I think I'll hang around for another year, yep I will.

Whap

Mum had her bored of the library meeting tonight. When she got home she had chick-hen and we each got a bit of it.

Then mum sat down to look at the mail, gave Derby some scritches, then reached out to me and managed to whap me on the nose! So I whapped her hand!
I moved out of her reach for now. I know she didn't mean it, but still.

ManCat Monday

I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious. - Vince Lombardi

Final Feetsball Report

The Green Bay Packers are Stouper Bowl Champions! Woohooo. They were ahead the whole game but man it took a final drive for a field goal and the defense holding the Steel guys to give it up on downs with less than a minute to play.

What a game! Like they expected, a close game but The Pack managed to bring the Lombardi trophy home to Green Bay.

Thanks for everyone who stopped in for the party. Mum managed to contain herself and not scream at the TV. Just lots of cheering, clapping and some worrying too.

Still a few extra fur piles in the house. We cellybrated after the game for a while. Mum went to bed, we partied on. Just everyone teleport home safely.

A couple of our buddies decided this weekend was the time to head for The Bridge.
Farewell Pabs, our Tassie buddy. We will miss the Aussie rules feetsball updates. His mum even was an honorary cheesehead for the game yesterday. We are glad we won the game to give here something to smile about.
Laila and Minchies cousing Bonnie ran off too.
Plus our Secret Paw sweetie Miss Praline isn't feeling as well as she could. Waiting on word from the V-E-T on her bloodwork.

So big purrs to them and their beans.

Stouper Bowl - Go Pack Go

We are ready for the big game! We have our colors painted on, non-toxic so we won't get sick. A special chair to watch the game from too. Let the tailgaiting, eating, smoozing and just having fun begin.
Turkey, chick-hen and of course lots of ham!
Ahi-tuna and shrimps.

Drinks!
Lots of milk and tuna juice for the kittens!
The good stuff for us adult kitties. Champagne, Meowgarita's, Singapurrsling's and Blue Tuna Gizzy's.
Special for today only we have special drinks for our feetsball fans! Green and Gold Martini's for the Packer fans, with one of mum's favorites an old fashion preferably with Southern Comfort.
Steel Helmets for the Pittsburgh fans. Don't be deceived, while it has cream in it, it packs a punch of vodka, coffee liqueur and Galliano liqueur. This is not for the kittens!

We have this ginormous screen to watch the game on.

Now you all know who we want to win, so all of you Steel guy fans will have to watch from the dungeon. We Packer Backers will have the comfort of the living room! Iffin you is just here to visit, if you would go to the back bedroom, there is a TV that will be turned to the game, but then you won't disturb the hard core fans who really want to watch the game. Plus we all know the commercials are part of the fun. Let us know which ones you like or don't like. So everyone, have fun. May the best team, THE PACKERS, win!

Party starts when you get here.

Game starts at 5:30 PM Central Standard Time that would be 2330 GMT. If you need help figuring out the time, here to figure out your local time when things started.

You are welcome to stay as long as you want. You are even welcome to spend the night if you stay for the whole game and perhaps have just one too many to teleport. We have lots of room for those who stay over. You can teleport home in the AM.

Are You Ready?

We have the last of the stuff done for Sunday's Stouper Bowl Party. Stop by on Sunday!

Blizzard 2011 - Groundhog Day Edition

The snow-tsunami is over, here are the pictures.
Comparison of the bird bath picture from yesterday.
Picture of the sun dial. Mum guesses we got 12 inches of new snow that blew around, a lot.
Ducky checking out the snow this AM.
Mum got this much of the driveway cleared with her little machine.
Then neighbor Vince came by with his big snow eater and did the end of the driveway. Thank you Mr Vince. You is a great guy for helping out.
Hmmm, the snow is blocking my view here!
Thanks for brushing it away!
Patio cleared enough so mum get get out to feed the fevvers. She did wade out in the snow to check the feeders. She was knee deep in snow and said her feets hadn't hit the actual ground.
Snow totals, we didn't get the most, that is OK with mum!
Our driveway tonight, it has melted in the sun during the day, pretty clear! Guess that means mum has to go day hunting.
This isn't our house, mum says it is Uncle Stormies. Seems he got bee-lizzard in the OK state. He got his driveway cleared, but they don't have snow plows like we do to get the streets clear. So he won't be going far anytime soon.

We hope all of our furiends who had bad weather did OK and no problems. We enjoyed what sun we got today too.

Yeah, at least our local groundhog did not see his shadow. No way they dug him out of his den today. So maybe we get an early spring? We can hope.
