Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday! Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper here, ready to give you the update.

Biggest thing is that it was nice enuf on Wednesday evening for mum to spend time outside with us! We chatted about the yard, mum read for a bit and stayed outside long enuf to start to see the fireflies and the first stars come out. Along with the nearly full moon!

Our biggest chore was to snoopervise the people who showed up to work on the driveway. They got out this stinky black goo and spread it all over. Mum says that makes things last longer.
Our last day lily has bloomed. This is Stars Shall Fall.  It looks really similar to the one below but is just a little bit pinker. Mum says in purrson they look the same, but the pictures show more differences.
This one is Picture Pastel. Mum is happy at that at least one of each plant she bought survived and bloomed. So she thinks she did purrty good on this. Hopefully another year and we will get even more flowers.
One of the butterfly bushes has just started to bloom. Another success for mum to have it survive the winter, grow and bloom. Now we have to watch for butterflies on the plant.
Lastly, the ornamental thistle. It didn't come up last summer and mum thought that with all the basement digging it might have been lost. Nope, just took a year off to rest up.

Guess that is all for this week. Love, Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

Tuesday This and That

Don't worry gang, I am getting my revenge. To catch up on cuddles, I wake her up. Early and often.
Early Sunday - 4:52 AM, pushing my head into her hand, insisting on ear scritches.

Early Monday - 3:14 AM, plopped down in front of her while she was in the sleepy spot. She woke up with fur in her nose and mouth. At which point I demanded more cuddles.

Early Tuesday - 2:11 AM, climbing up on her side and stretching out, getting her all hot and bothered.

Early Wednesday - Time to be determined, more of the above

Two can play this game. Don't think you will win!

ManCat Monday

A cat isn't fussy - just so long as you remember he likes his milk in the shallow, rose-patterned saucer and his fish on the blue plate. From which he will take it, and eat it off the floor. - Arthur Bridges

Happy Monday Gang! Although mum is going "Oh heck its Monday". Teehee. She has to go day hunt. No rest for her!

Yeah, I got conned this weekend. Mum did not stay home all weekend. She ranned off to play with racy cars. Tricked me as she didn't get up super early OR take her red traveling bag. She was home every night but I lots out on lots of cuddles.

I did try to keep her home. Sitting on her while she was in bed, but she was tricky. Told me I had to let her get up to use her litter box. Then, once out of bed, she never got back in!
So once she finally got back home, you bet I kept her in one place. Still trying to get all my cuddles.

Caturday

Happy Weekend Gang. Me and mum had a wonderful lie in today. I got lots of cuddles and all.

She better treat me nice and make up for all those cuddles I missed while she was off at Mayo land again. Good trip, Miss Lynn is doing well. Her doc are happy.
Not going to do too much today, mum either. Said it will be nice to just have a quiet weekend at home.

Garden Thursday

Hello and welcome to Garden Thursday. Interesting past week, we gets hots, then it gets nice, then we have storms and darks, then it gets nice. Right now we are in the nices.

We have shown you our new day lilies, here are the old ones in the back. Mum looked in her folder with plant info that she has kept, she didn't find the plant info for these.
Then we have a wild flower that showed up in our yard. A Queen Anne's Lace plant. So the local sqwerls must have brought a few seeds from down the path.
It is on the east side of the house by the ferns. Plus some catnip plants there too. Mum picks some for Ducky now and then.
Otherwise, things are all quiet around here, that is OK.

Love, Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

Tuesday This and That

Sheesh, mum is going from one end of the house to the other. Picking up stuff, cleaning, doing all the dishes, getting the recycle outside. Slow down! Take some time to chill.

Me, I am enjoying my nip carrot. Getting all mellow.

Mum is done with her chores, she is going outside to read and get some fresh air.

ManCat Monday

Dogs may have kept us company on the hunt, but it was the cats who insisted we invent houses and discover fire. - Khiem Tran

Houses and fire, really a place to live and warms. Mum came inside all warms yesterday from working outside and I sat on her. She said I made her hotter! So I was nice and hopped down from her lap.

Looking outside, just checking out the trees and such. Yes mum, I see you are using the flashy box on me. Well, at least the flashy wasn't flashing!
The hots didn't really last all weekend. So it was purrty good, some storms on Caturday afternoon, but nothing bad by us. Just got real dark for a while. So it was nice for her to use the grass eating monster on Sunday. Then she cooked out. One brat for today, the other, for another day. Not all for me. But she did share.
Me waiting inside while mum was cooking and soaking up a few rays of sunshine.
Here are mum's painted toes. Chocolate Moose she says! Really, looks like toes not mooses.
Plus the old gunslinger number four came back to Lambeau on Caturday. They retired his number and put him into the Packer's Hall of Fame. They will also do something on Thanksgiving night to a national moving picture audience. Stay tuned. So maybe we can really say that Grampa Brett has really and truly retired from feetsball.
He first went out and talked to 67,000 fans in the stadium. Here he is walking out through the tunnel. The home team tunnel!
His banner next to Reggie, and him giving a talk inside after, thanking those who he worked with, coaches, team mates and others who helped him do what he did best. Play feetball.

Caturday

Happy Weekend everyone. Me and mum are going to take it easy, the hots along with the humids are back!

I will be snoopervising mum in whatever she does and where ever she sits. If she is watching the moving picture box, just on the back of the couch.
In her reading chair in the back, I can hang out on the tower and look down on her or.....
make sure she is taking it easy and sit on her to keep her in one place.
Mum has done stuff this today already. She refilled the hummer feeder and the sunflower feeder for the fevvers. It rained overnight so the seed was wet, and the hummer feeder was empty!

Mum is off to get her boobs smooshed and her toes painted. Guess I can nap for a bit.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

More and different day lilies opened this past week. That makes mum happy. Here they are.

 Picture Pastel
 Royal Jester
 Cherry Eyed Pumpkin

So now 4 of 6 of the different flowers have bloomed. All but one, the one she got for free, has flower buds on it. So just a matter of time before it opens up in the upcoming days. Mum says so far her most favorite is the last one.

She was furry tired when she got home last night. Home from work, a quick hello to all of us and then off for a meeting. A long meeting, she wasn't home until it was nearly dark. Poor Ducky was inside a dark house, but as soon as mum was home for good he got lots of cuddles. All is good.

See you next week. Love, Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

Tuesday This and That

The hots are gone, so the windows are open. Mum says don't get used to it, the hots will be back by the weekend.
Miss Megan from Sydney, gooshy foods are foods that are not dry. So soft, wet, with gravy and all. Sometimes also called stinky goodness. I get a bit of both foods, mum likes to please me.

So me and mum are just hanging out tonight. A little baseball to watch, otherwise mum will probably read her book!

ManCat Monday

I always find it curious as to why I take such great pains to keep my cat's dishes clean when I know I'll look out the window and see her happily carrying a dead mouse in her mouth. - Fannie Roach Palmer

MOL, I agree, our beans go to such effort to give us nice clean bowls and such to eat off of, then we go lick our bottoms and eat some more!

Here is a video that shows mum giving me my gooshy foods! If you listen closely you can hear my soft meows saying, "hurry up mum and give me my dinner!"

Hope you all had a good weekend. We spent a quiet weekend at home. Mum doing chores, reading and napping like a good cat!

Happy week everyone

Caturday

HiYa, Ducky here. Hope your weekend is getting off to a good start. Mum and I had our nice cuddles in the sleepy spot this morning as usual.

I was sitting on top of her and a song came to mind.

On top of Old Mummy
All covered with skin,
You wouldn’t so comfy
If you were real thin.

Yeah, it is silly, but what do you expect early on a Caturday morning. Even mum is being a bit silly or weird today. She got up, dressed, put her walking shoes on and went for an early walk. That is so not like her. She is not a morning purrson. But she said it will be hot later, so better to walk when it is cooler.
So hope all of you have a fabulous weekend.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday. Hot, then cold, then hot, then.....you get the idea. Can't we just have nice decent temperatures in the high 70's to low 80's? I think that would make everyone happy.

Good news. The first day lily bloomed! Mum says this one is called South Seas.
 Sunday
 Monday
 Tuesday AM, front on view.
  Tuesday AM, side view.
These three are Tuesday afternoon. Another bloomed today and you can see more blossoms to come.

Mum is furry happy and can't wait for some of the other ones to open up. Then we will have more purrty pictures to share.
We just hanging out in the back yard. Watching the world go by. Oh yeah, mum, you really need to mow the grass!

Someone said they wouldn't get a mower with a governor, you can, if you buy electric. Otherwise that is what open and closes the throttle on a gas powered engine. Just so you know.

See you next week. Love, Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

Tuesday This and That

Not much going on. It got cooler, so mum has the windows open. She says it makes for better sleeping when it is cool.
Mum is reading as usual, just starting a book on the "Iron Horse". Sounds like a book on trains, but it is actually about a baseball player, Lou Gehrig. Plus she got an idea of another book to read from this one. She added it to her list.

I just curl up on or near her while she reads. Except when she gets the idea that I need a pawdicure!

ManCat Monday

Our words should be purrs instead of hisses. - Kathrine Palmer Peterson

Yes, wouldn't the world be better if everyone purred at each other, instead of so many hisses. Come on humans, think about. Let you words be tender, in case you have to eat them!

Me and mum had a nice weekend. Quiet, spent mostly at home. Napping, reading, cooking outside.
Mum caught me back in the pod for the first time on Thursday. Yeah, it is too nice of a place to ignore as a nap spot.
Of course there is mum's chair, that is always a good spot to hang out in too. I rarely get in this chair, but Derby used to do it all the time. Mum came back and wanted to sit, so.....
I moved back to the pod. Close by where I can keep an eye on her, plus I get sun puddles in the afternoon too.
Mum found three fevvers outside while she was cooking. She doesn't think they are dove fevvers, so not sure who left them. Maybe they are dove fevvers.
What she cooked for her hollyday meal. A brat (yes I got some), corn on the cob, coleslaw and garlic and herb potato salad. Mum says the potato salad tasted good, but too much mushy mayo.

Hope all had a safe weekend. Mum heads back to day hunt.
