Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday.

If the weather guessers are to be believed we may be getting some cooler weather in the next few days. That means mum can get some more work done outside. She always gets the grass cut and the other day she cut down some of the little trees that are growing where they should not be. Pruned the sucker shoots off of the trees and gave the grape arbor a bit of a trim too.
The tree service people stopped by yesterday and did the treatment of our ash tree for the Emerald Ahs Borer. The injection is good for two years and hopefully will keep that nasty bug away from our tree!
Our ornamental thistle is blooming nicely and we are happy to report that there are lots of bees around the plant. That is a good thing as we need our bees!
You can even see here that one of the flowers was getting two timed! Lots of flowers to go around so be nice and share.
The some of the day lilies from the front of the house. These are only a few of what mum has planted. All looking pretty right now.

That is all for this week. Hope you enjoyed our flowers.

Stay safe, stay healthy. Wear a mask.

  4. Gosh, I haven't heard about the emerald ash borer in awhile; glad the tree services are keeping up with it!
A friend recently called plants that come up because of squirrels or birds "volunteers" and I love that word! A great deal of plants in our yard were not planted by us!
