Thanks to all who stopped by for my purrthday over the weekend. I had a wonderful time seeing all of you.

I had an otherwise quiet weekend. Mum went off to a racy car thing on both Caturday and Sunday, her first event of the year. They had special rules about staying away from each other. Although some people weren't that good at minding what were supposed to do. Mum wore her mask when needed and stayed away from people she didn't know. 

 It is supposed to get hot this week. Me and mum will stay cool. She doesn't have much going on this week other than to pick up a new stash of library stuff today.

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday and we are having a party this weekend. Why? Cuz it is my purrthday tomorrow. I will be 12 years old.

So help yourselves to the noms and drinks. Kittens, remember you have to stick to milk or water. No niptini's for you!

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday. Things are kinda quiet. Waiting for new flowers to show up, as the spring and early summer stuff is done blooming.

One thing that mum noticed is that all of the flowers on the front daisy plants were gone. They weren't shriveled up but just gone. Mum is hoping it was a bunneh that came along and nibbled them. She really hopes that the little girls from down the street didn't help themselves. She is going to keep an eye on the new flowers that are getting ready to bloom.

Mum did some cooking making a Yorkshire pudding the other day. She thought it turned out really well. It poofed up really nice and tasted goo.

The blogosphere has lost one of its icons. Katie from Glogirly went off to The Bridge on Caturday. She will be missed by her humans, Glogirly and Gloman, and fellow cat Waffles.

Mini-ManCat Monday

Cats don't want to own people. They prefer to lease with an option.

Happy Monday. Hope you all had a good weekend. Me and mum did. We stayed home, did stuff inside and out. Stayed safe.

The Stonehenge thing was a bust. It was cloudy and / or rainy. Mum did watch for a bit on the puter hoping that perhaps a break in the clouds would happen. It didn't. Maybe another year?

Chasing light fairies? That is a good description of what I was doing. They don't show up every day, only around for a brief time, but fun to play with.

Mum is going to have a bizzy week, well, sort of this week. Lots of time to be with me too.

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday. Happy First Day of Summer! We went from rather cool weather to hotter weather. Me and mum are keeping cool inside.

Mum runs the fans inside the house to move the air around inside to help keep us cool. When she does that I get an extra play thing. The sun reflects off the fan which is moving back and forth. This only happens later in the day when the sun shines through the big windows that go to the floor, AND mum is running the fan. Please excuse the mess, the sucky monster was out.

Mum is planning on watching on line the sunset today and the sunrise tomorrow from Stonehenge. You can access it here. You will have to figure out the British Summer Time (BST) to your local time yourself. Mum sort of thinks she has it figured out. 

Then I get all tired and go hang out with mum and rest.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday! Almost to summer and the sun will be as far north as it ever gets. It will go away to the south.

 Our poppy bloomed during the past week. Mum spoted the nice red flower in all of the green leaves. She got a close up of the bloom as best she could.

Our climbing rose is looking super good this year too. Mum pruned a bunch out of it earlier this spring and the plant liked it. We got lots of flowers.

Here is our very pale pink pee-o-knee. 

Here is how the grape arbor is doing. Mum is happy that is is coming back but we will have to wait a few more month to see if we get grapes.

Mini-ManCat Monday

Cats make life a little sweeter.

You betcha I'm sweet. Mum says so all the time. I like to cuddle with her and that is sweet! It was a super weekend, open windows, lots of sunshine.

 I hung out with mum either on the back of the chair or where she would sit. At least with two chairs she can go sit in the other one when I occupy the other one.

Mum got some good news this past week. She completely paid for the house! WhooHoo, it is all ours now. Plus she got green papers back from the company of the tour she took, that made her happy. Hey mum, you can buy me more treats.

Not sure what all mum has planned for this week. I hope she stays bizzy with something to do. Books, DVD's getting work done around the house and yard.

HiYa Ducky here! Happy Caturday. Another bright and sunny day and warm enuf for open windows but cool enuf to make cuddling good too.

Mum did a library run and came home with all sorts of books and DVD's. Some she gets to keep as she is stocking up in case they close the library again. She hopes that doesn't happen.

Me holding mum down. She pops up and down often. She thinks of stuff she needs to do, so she gets up and goes does it. Then comes back to sit and read a bit, then off for another chore.

Mum has been noticing me sitting like this more often. Geez, can't a guy just mix things up without a federal case being made about it? Just stretching out my back legs!

This is the leftover yarns mum needs to get made into hats.

Plus she filled up her big stash, so the closet section in all full again too.

Me and mum are going to have a quiet weekend.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday.

Well, we have had an interesting week. We had what was left of a tropical storm or depression move through on Wednesday. Super windy, some rain here but not a huge amount. The wind brought down all sorts of small bits of leaves from the locust tree.

Mum didn't get every leaf and twig picked up but here is the pile that she started for what she picked up.

The pee-o-knees have started to bloom. The storm knocked down the naybors pee-o-knees and mum picked it up from the ground and braced it in between other stems. The pink ones are the naybors.

The wind brought down most of the maple seeds too. That means mum can call her peoples to come clean out the gutters and roof for the spring.

My CAT was born to be pampered.

You betcha I was born to be pampered. I expect the easy life and well I have it.

 

We had a marvy weekend. Sunny, nice temperatures. Mum worked outside a bit on both Caturday and Sunday. Moving the grass eater around to keep the lawn looking nice.

Mum got a moovie of me messing with her silk flowers, not to worry that I am getting exposed to some toxic plant stuff.

The new sucky monster is supposed to be here by tomorrow. That means mum will have to clean stuff. She will be happy for that as the old was wasn't doing the job. Mum said the old one was just moving the dirt around and not actually picking it up.

Guess it will be a quiet week for us. Don't think mum has much to do other than stuff around the house.

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday. We have a bright sunny day for starts. Mum has the front window open and we are listening to a bird be very sassy outside.

Me and mum had a nice lie in this morning. All cuddled together, then I moved to sit by her head. She awoke to me doing my AM cleaning. An example of my cleaning routine. I am a very clean cat.

Sheesh the girls are very territorial with the reporting. Just a simple mention of what was happening outside. Wimin!

Mum bought a new sucking monster and guy what? She got it out of the box, plugged it in and it worked for al of 30 seconds! Thank goodness. Oh wait, she then got on the phone talked to people and they are sending her a new one. She doesn't even have to take the old one back to the store or even send it back. She had to send them a pic where she showed she cut off its tail! What? Mum says that is so people don't scam the company, the new one doesn't ship until the bad one can't be used at all. OK, I guess that makes sense.

So not much going on for this weekend. Mum says it will be time to use the grass eater again. I can report on that, me and mum talked about it. Nice few days to do stuff outside.
