ManCat Monday

Cats are smarter than dogs. If you throw a stick, a cat will say, "You want it fetching, fetch it yourself!" - Sandy Parkinson

Hooray, mum got the settings right so this will post early in the day. Don't want to disappoint my Monday ManCat fans of not seeing my post.
Me and mum had a nice weekend. She got all her chores done, we had lots of cuddle time and she got two books all read! Plus she made something nommy for herself.
Mini caramel rolls. Mix up the brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and milk and put in the bottom of the pan. Take refrigerated crescent roll mix, separate into rectangles, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll up, cut into little rolls and put in the pan. Bake and enjoy! Mum had a hard time not just stuffing it all into her mouth!
There was feetsball this weekend, we did not watch. It is only pre-season, but the pack didn't look that grate, but the good players didn't play much.

Happy week all. New month tomorrow!

Caturday

Happy Caturday to all.

Starting out rainy and cloudy today. That is OK. It rained pretty much all night and mum says that is good for the plants and grass. Still a bit misty out right now.

I had my good supplies of scritches and cuddles this AM. Me and mum were in the chair just watching outside. Nothing much happening, just chillin' together. Then we saw a hummer at the feeder and mum amembered she needed to make more sugar water.

Plus she got the cleaning done. Her litter box room is almost spotless. She still needs to work on some iron stains but needs more cleaner. She can get that at the store a bit later. The dishy washer machine is doing its thing too.
Come back and join me mum, let's chill out some more together.

Happy weekend.

Rainbow Bridge Day

Yeah, eight months and one day since the Derbster decided to head on out. We miss the big guy, and mum was getting all leaky eyed while looking through the pictures. I better go purr on her.

Here are just a few of her favorite pictures of Derby.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

Mum has the yard looking better. Got the grass cut off this past week, at least it is evened off. Some rain, so that has been good.

Maybe you remember the project that started a year ago. Neighbor Chuck and his son Nick came over with their cat name Bob and took out all of the old icky plants.

Well they brought Bob back for a job across the street and they cleaned up more of the junk and them mum got really working and cleaned up as much of the old landscape rock. She raked and shoveled the rock to where there won't be grass.
That is the piles she moved out on last Friday evening. Then her plan was to get some good growing dirt and grass seed on Caturday morning. She needed to so some running around chores first, and when she got home the naybors had brought in and spread all of this dirt!
She was totally surprised and super happy. This saved her so much work and green papers too. Above you see naybor Chuck, he is a super nice man, mum says he is like a teddy bear. All growly voiced but a sweetheart. Any purrs you have to spare, send them his way. He is getting a bone marrow transplant next month!
Then the truck showed up with another load of dirt and they worked on Chuck's yard by the street. When they worked on the street a few years ago they didn't get enuf dirt in, so they filled it in. Mum bought a bunch of grass seed, now we are just waiting for it to start growing.

Mum has to keep it watered, but we have gotten a bit of rain some days, so that helps. Otherwise Mum is watering to make sure those grass seeds grow.

That is all for this week! Love Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

ManCat Monday

The cat was created when the lion sneezed. - Arabian Myth

SHEESH, She messed up the time again!

Geshundheit! Bless you, Mr or Mrs Lion. Mum even called me her little lion a few weeks ago. It was on the news that there was a lion wandering around our area. Even a couple of grainy pictures of something larger and feline.

Supposedly the lion was near where we lived AND someplace miles away at the same time. Mum said her little lion was right where he was supposed to be. Home napping in the sun.
Otherwise, mum got her outside work done on Caturday and got a surprise on it too. I will let the girls fill you in on Garden Thursday. Mum was super surprised and happy!

Mum made grilled beast and eggy plant on Sunday. First time in a long time. Seems the eggy plants haven't looked good in the store.

Purrfect medium rare, thanks mum for sharing with me. You know I love grilled beast.

Pre-Season Feetsball

The Pack played The Steelers - Just like a regular weekend game they played on Sunday. So mum did her normal Sunday AM stuff to time out that she is good for being ready for Noon kickoff times. She did OK.

However the Pack didn't do as well. They lost and may also have lost one of their really good ball catcher guys to a knee injury, maybe for the entire season. That means everyone else needs to step up and fill in. Or it will be a really long season.

Update: Mr Jordy will be out all season with a knee injury.

Caturday

Happy Weekend one and all. Things here at Casa Ducky are getting off to a nice and slow start.

Mum is having her brekkie, peanut butter toast. Extra crunchy peanut butter. Two pieces as she says she has lots of work to get done this AM. So needs the boost. Nothing starts until after mum goes to the green paper place. That will open soon.
Me staying on the floor, I don't want to get close to that sticky peanut stuff. I had lots of cuddles earlier, so I am all good for now. I think the girls will be bizzy later snooperising mum.
I hope all of you have a good weekend.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

We had lovely rain Tuesday night, some boomer storms, but nothing severe near us. Mum pretty much got to go to bed on time. She likes that, she needs her beauty sleep.

So now that we have had some rain, mum says she needs to get the grass mowed down. Hasn't grown much in the past 3-4 weeks, so just to even it off.
The special lilies are blooming. The naybor calls them naked ladies, but mum says they are really a type of lily.
Supposedly she went to day hunt on Wednesday, but game home with pictures of the baseball place. Yeah, team building? More like team beer drinking. At least that is what mum says.
Mum on the left being silly with some of the people she works with. She even made it home in good time. Didn't get on the freeway.
That is all for now! Love Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

Tuesday This and That

Hey gang, sitting by the front window and hearing ceiling cat bowling. No bright flashies in the sky, just rumbling.
Mum getting a nice pic of me sitting and watching her on the puter. Working on this post for me, get going lady, we haven't got all night for this you know.
Sheesh, she is so distracted by stuff I am dozing off. The stupid baseball team is yucky, they is losing, so just ignore the stoopid stick and ball game.
Hey, one of our super duper furiends is not doing well. Billy Sweetfeets, just another super orinch cat, is having breathing problems and has a wonky eye that might have to come out. He has always been challenged with health issues, but they are getting worse.

Derby was one of Billy's hero's, Derby taught him to use velcro boots to walk on the ceiling and how to drink adult cat beverages. That happened one night and the results were hilarryus! The drunker Billy got, the better he talked! Now that was a switch.

So mum is checking the green paper situation here so we hopefully can send a little something along to help his mum out. Iffin you can help out, clicky here and do what you can. If nothing else, send lots of healing and comforting purrs.

ManCat Monday

If a cat spoke, it would say things like 'Hey, I don't see the problem here'. - Roy Blount

Right, we don't get too worked up about stuff. Unlike our humans, they worry far too much. You can see I am not worried about things. I can nap the day away.
Mum spend what she says will be her last weekend away playing with racy cars. She doesn't think she will do the stuff that comes up in October. Likely to be cold and windy, she says she is too old and done this too long to put up with standing outside in bad weather. If, and this is a big if, it was super nice out, she might go, but not likely.

Have a good week every one.

Caturday

Yeah, me and mum have worked things out. She was just so chilled last weekend she just totally forgot. She didn't ignore the real me. I was getting foods and cuddles and all. She just was trying to stay off the puter as much as she could.
Mum sitting in her reading chair, me getting ready to jump up and join her. Get my cuddles and all.

It is going to be all hot today, so to cool us all off, here are some pictures that will remind us of cooler, really colder days.

Everyone have a good weekend.Stay cool.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

Before we head out to the garden, we want to send purrs to Alfie and Milo's dad and mum. The dad Peter is having eye surgery today. We hope all goes well so that they can fix him so he can see.
Now on to the flowers for the week. The day lilies are done for this year. Mum was pleased with the flowers we did get.
The cone flowers in the back, right now they are in the shade but earlier in the day they get sunshine.
Mix in is a sunflower that the sqwerls must have planted. It is growing near where the feeders are. Here is a closer picture of the flower. The flower is so big mum has to hold it up to get a picture.
We think Ducky and mum have worked things out for her missing Mancat Monday. He is back giving her cuddles and such. So guess things are OK inside the house.

That is all for this week. Love, Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

ManCat Monday

A cat is an example of sophistication minus civilization.

Who says we cats ain't civilized! Hey, mum is slacking off, she spent so much time goofing off this weekend, she totally ignored helping getting my Mancat Monday post going.

For that she gets elebenty twelve lashes and withholding cuddles and kittie kisses for now. You get my backside of disrespect.
You may need to biggify this to see them, but there are lots of sandhill cranes in a field near where we live. Mum says she usually sees 1 to 3 together.
Sorry it is so dark, it was getting ready to rain and mum couldn't pull over on the road where she was close. She had to turn on a road to the side to get a picture.

OK, that is her news. I am big to ignoring her stuff now. Now I know how the Meezers and Billy Sweetfeets feel about there mum. Time to trade her for someone new?

Caturday - World Cat Day

It is our day, but isn't every day a cat day?

Me and mum will be hanging out. She has a few chores to do, take all that green stuff you saw to the compost pile. Get the car washed and then hit the library for some books.

Then she can come home to hang out with me for the rest of the weekend. Oh, yeah, guess she has to get foods to eat too.
Happy weekend everyone.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper.

It has gotten super nice here. The hots and humids are gone. Mum has been outside nearly every evening, working on stuff or just sitting and reading until it gets dark.
Here is one of the newest flowers out front. It is called Bee Balm or Monarda. It is a short plant and mum likes the color. She may look to find more of these to plant next year.
Our ornamental thistle flower with Mr Blumbly Bee. Getting a nice snack before time to head back to the hive for the night.
This is what mum worked on this week. She pruned back the grape vine so it wasn't climbing all over the one lilac bush. Mum says the grape vine needs a severe cut back next spring. She didn't see many baby grapes on it. Cutting it back may help it grow more grapes.

Mum will get all of this hauled off on Caturday morning. It has been dry here, so she was even carrying water to some of the newer plants. Got to keep them happy and living!

That is all this week, stop in again. Love, Virginger, Glimmer and Trooper
