Caturday

HiYa, Ducky here. Happy Caturday! It will be another super hot one here, so mum and I have planned to stay inside with the air chiller and fans.

Thanks for all of the purrthday wishes. I got lots of love and gooshy foods from mum. Even though it is hot, I still want to sit on her lap, or lay next to her in bed. I just loves being with my mum. She says I make her feel hot when I sit on her. Well, hot ladies are a good thing mum.

Mum has her supply of books so no need to go out in the hots. She doesn't even want to go out to freshen up the hummer feeders, but she knows she will have to. Get it over early before it gets even hotter girl!

So to help us cool off, just amember we could be dealing with this white stuff!
Happy weekend.

So we will share some pics of our brofur.

Lots of foods and drink to cellybrate with so, party on everyone!

ManCat Monday

A cat pours his body on the floor like water. It is restful just to see him. - William Lyon Phelps

Mum should have been staring at me all weekend to be restful. She is not happy, the new puter decided not to work again on Caturday night. So off to the fix-it shop again.

It was a nice weekend, sunny but not too warm. Mum even sat outside last night until it got dark. She even readed her book as long as there was enuf light.

I better go and find mum and purr on her to keep her happy. Hope your week starts and goes better than our is right now!

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday! We finally have a nice day, the sun is out, the sky is blue. We have had off and on rain for days! Mum even had to get the grass all cut off on two different days. She did the back Wednesday, but then it started to rain. She finally got it finished yesterday once it dried off from the early AM rain.
Me helping mum wake up today. She made sure she got up on time as she is watching horsie racing on the moving picture box today. Heck she has been watching all week. Royal Ascot, so she has to be out of bed. But not before I gave her a bit of a back walk! She liked that.

Have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy!

Garden Thursday

Hello and welcome back to the garden this week. Lots of rain this past week, over 2 inches and we had the hots for a few days. Mum stayed inside with the air chiller going. She and Duck stayed nice and cool.

Pictures of the almost flowers from the lily. Mum thinks they will be purple or a dark red. She can't remember what color she bought!

Zinnias by the side of the house, the one new yellow flower on one plant and the new pink one with the flower from last week.
We had a suggestion from the gang over at William of Mass Destruction. They suggested mum  had the hummer feeders from fishing line. She tried it and it worked, so yesterday she put up more lines to hold more feeders.

Thanks for the suggestion, mum always has fishing line in the junk drawer. You never know when this stuff comes in for a useful project.

Mum also got about half of the grass mowed off, then it started to rain. She will need to finish that up today.

See you all next week. Enjoy.

ManCat Monday

...this mysterious, mystical bundle of fur that won't come when you call it. - John Reynolds

That would be me, I do not come when called. Friday AM mum went off to play with racy cars just for the one day. She did not see me before she left. She did call out that she was leaving and would not be home until late. When she got home I did greet her at the door.

The fix-it shop called on Friday while mum was not home to tell her what was wrong and if it was OK to finish fixing it. Duh, if she didn't want it fixed, she wouldn't have brought it in! Hopefully we will have it back sometime today.

Sunday was all hot but me and mum stayed inside with the air chiller running. So we are OK. Mum readed books, crow-shayed on hats, did laundry and took naps. Sometime late Monday it is supposed to be really cooler.
I hung out in mum's chair and I wanted to sit on her as well, but she kept telling me it was too hot for me to sit on her. Well, OK, then I will go nap somewhere else!
Have a good week everyone.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday. Mum is up and ready to go as she has stuff she wants to get done before it gets all hot.

She went to play with racy cars on Friday, but only for the one day. They had rain, thunder and lightening in the AM. Then after lunch they had this wild looking cloud come at them. The cloud passed, then the wind picked up, changed direction and it got much cooler. After this passed then the weather got nice for the rest of the day. Plus we had more rain overnight.

Me, I just stayed home and chilled. Going to be hot this weekend, so the air chiller will be working. Mum is staying home from the rest of the races as she doesn't like the heat and doesn't want to get sick.

Our pal Minchie of Cat-A-Holic was helped to The Bridge. He was in kidney failure, like Derby was. So we send comforting purrs to his mum Peggy. We know what she is going through with his sisfur Laila.

Enjoy your weekend. Stay cool!

Garden Thursday

Hello, a quickie post from us. Mum is operating on the old puter as the newer one is having an issue and is in the fixit shop.
Mum is not happy as something, rather someone, likely a raccoon, keeps knocking the hummer feeders down. So mum has to get them all cleaned and refilled. She has multiple feeders so always has clean ones to put up, but then she has to make more sugar water for them too. She never puts a lot of nectar in at a time, just for this reason. Plus it won't go bad in the heat.
Above is one of the columbines in the back yard. Really full of blooms this year, must like it sitting next to the bleeding heart plant.
Here is a pic of the zinnia that mum just got a few weeks ago, already blooming, but the flower is sort of small. The plant could have flowers that are 4-5 inches across.
Here is the oriental lilly showing flower buds too. We should have flowers here soon.

That is it. Enjoy, see you next week.

ManCat Monday

I believe cats to be spirits come to earth. A cat I am sure, could walk on a cloud without coming through. - Jules Verne

Hope everyone had a good weekend. After mum was done with the recycling stuff on Caturday she just did chores around the house. She cooked a yummy dinner by cooking shrimps on the barbie. She said it was grate, she did NOT share!
Sunday was a rainy day so mum spent most of it inside. She did get outside long enuf to fill the fevver feeders. Specially the hummer and oriole feeders as those guys empty them pretty quick. She also cleaned and refilled the birdie bath.
Mum did watch the Formula 1 race from Canada yesterday afternoon. Since she had parked herself I figured I might as well occupy her lap. Later she readed a book and decided she didn't want to finish it. So she will be off to the library to get more books in the morning.

About the recycling. Where we live, the county, holds electronic recycling once a month every month at different spots. So mum looks them up to see when one will be close to us, then she can get rid of the junk she doesn't need. The regular recycling like cans, bottles and paper, those get picked up from the big bin that mum just has to put out when it gets full.

That is about all for today. Everyone  have a good week.

Caturday

Mum is back home, she wanted to get out early and get rid of all of the old junky puter stuff. Seems there was an electronic recycling event near us and so she took advantage of it. Nice to get all this useless stuff out of the house!
The two bigger boxes just had old recorder tapes in them, those got dropped off at the good for will place. She is just happy all of this is gone. She still has some old puter disks to get rid of, but that is a small pile.
Me, well I stayed home while she ran around doing all of this. Hanging out and napping in my pod. I may spend my weekend here. Comfy place to be.
Happy weekend everyone!

Garden Thursday

Hello and welcome back to the garden for this week. Things are looking good, growing and blooming and we like that.

Last week we promised something with wings, and for Trout Towne, no it is not a burd! Here is a sneak peak of the wings.
The blooming is the pee-o-knees have started. This was the first fully opened bloom that mum spotted this week. Even with all the cold weather they are blooming purrty much on time.
Here is a closeup and purrsonal on one of the allium blooms. Almost all of them are this purple color, but occasionally we get a white one too.
One of the flower pots mum puts flowers in. This year geraniums, salmon and red. The other red thing mum can't amember its name right now.
Ready for the reveal of what was is attached to the wings? A kitty! Mum says if it were orinch and white it could be Derby. Well, even if it isn't orinch, we will still think of this as our Angel Derby.
So much more going on, but we don't want to use everything up in one week. So come on back next week for more goodies in the garden.

Tuesday This and That

A beauty of a day here, windows wide open, lots of sun. Mum did some running around which included getting in a supply of foods for me. She opened the last bag the other day.

Good news from mum's furiend. The procedure went OK on Monday and she was home later in the day. Today she was resting and icing her boobity. It will take a few days to get the official repurrt back, but she said the doc got everything out, but they gotta check to see what they took out is the bad stuff.

Mum also readed her book today, she said it started slow, but then she got into it more and is almost done with it! Said she might get another book by the author soon.

ManCat Monday

Cats are a bundle of love wrapped in fur.

You bet I am a bundle of love and I love to love mum. Yesterday she woke up to me draped on her pillow just above her head. At the time she opened her eyes I was in the middle of a baff and doing my nether regions! MOL. What timing.
I hung out on the tower today. Mum did work stuff inside and out. She got the grass eater out and did that. Cooler day and windy, mum said fewer skeeters to chew at her ankles. She doesn't think she got any new bites.
Her ankles are looking better, but here is a pic of what they looked like earlier this week. Gonna be a bad summer for the skeeters. She usually doesn't react this bad to bites, so something must be up with the skeeters.

Otherwise mum readed books this weekend and will be helping at the library for the summer reading program. Making sure as many of the kids and adults get signed up as they can. Reading is good for your, helps make you smarter mum says.

Mum and me are also asking for your purrs for a friend of hers. She is having a boobity issue and will be having a surgical biopsy today. Purrs for a successful procedure and no cancer please. She had booby cancer about 15 years ago and made it through OK, but no one wants it twice.

So everyone have a good week. Get outside, enjoy the summer, read a book or three.

Caturday

HiYa, Ducky here. Happy Caturday. Me and mum are up and she is reading stuff on the puter. Now I can get my post done as well.

Mum looked outside this AM and saw that two of the hummer feeders got knocked down overnight, so she needs to get that taken care of ASAP. Still one is up, but with more feeders we do see more hummers.

Mum also wants to get a bit of outside stuff done while it isn't windy. Cloudy and cooler day today, we go from hots to cools in a matter of hours these days. Mom Nature cannot make up her mind!

Me, well, I plan on napping today, hanging out with mum when she comes back inside from her chores.
Happy weekend everyone.
