Mini-ManCat Monday

With velvet paws and shining eyes they steal into our hearts...

The heart stealer of the day isn't me but Derby. This is the day he got his wings and ran off to The Bridge. Mum misses him very much. This is one of her fav pics of him. Miss you big guy.

Yesterday was box day and there are all kinds of boxes here but I really don't mess with them. Little ones, long ones. Even some big plastic ones.

Now this one I like the one bit of loose cardboard. I use that to sharpen my paws.

Me and mum had a nice quiet Christ-mouse at home. Mum fixed some roast beast and she shared a bit of if with me. She also gave me a whole can of gooshy foods! It took me all day to finish it, but it was yummy. Mum gave me a new nip nanner and fevver but mousies. Both are my favorites.

We have passed the shortest daylight hours, but just now getting to the latest sunrise. Mum does not like to get up before the sun rises. We have gained about 7 minutes on the sunset and on a clear day you can tell it too. You can even make out the trees against the sky at 5 PM on a clear day. Hooray for the sun coming back north.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - The Pack played on Caturday afternoon. Yep the afternoon of Christmouse! Mum made sure she was all ready to sit and watch. Me too. They played the Brownies and came out with a win. ARodg threw some TD passes and the first one he threw moved him passed Grampa Brett as the team leader of TD passes. As we get to playoff time the team is currently the number 1 seed. Next week we get to play the ViQueens at Lambeau.

Last few days of the year. Where did it go so fast!

Christ-mouse Caturday

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, (because he was of the house and lineage of David,) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. Luke 2: 1-20 (KJV)

Christ-mouse Eve

Happy Christmouse Eve. A little late getting this up but the good news is mum was able to fix the sparkly tree for me. YAY. She was giving up, then thought, could I buy a new socket for the new bulb. Yes she could! It arrived a little bit ago and she sat right down to fix it!

Now I can dream of Santa Claws!

Mum dug out a special throw back for today. It features Derby and a song for him. Enjoy.

Derby, the red-nosed reincat
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him, you would even say it glows.

All of the other reincats used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Derby

join in any reincat games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve

Santa came to say:

Derby with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reincats loved him
as they shouted out with glee, Derby the red-nosed reincat,
you'll go down in history!

Mini ManCat Monday

Cats could have ruled the universe but couldn't be bothered.

Yeah, that might be too much work. You know if we cats really wanted to be in charge we could do it. Actually we are in charge, you humans are doing all the work for us! MOL!

Mum got a couple of nice shots of me yesterday while I was hanging out on her lap. The sun was shining in the windows and it showed off my furs really nice. I sort of just glow!

Sending lots of purrs to Truffle and Brulee's mum Miss Paula. Her mum went to heaven on Caturday, Sending lots of comforting purrs.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - Played an OK game and won. They started out slow, pretty much like they have all year. Mum tried to behave and not yell nasty words at the moving picture box when they mess up. She is trying to reform cuz she has been invited to a game watching party in a few weeks! They play again on Catruday. Hey, that is Christ-mouse day mum! Do they really play a game that day? Mum says yep!

Plus with their win yesterday they are confirmed to get to the playoffs. They are the Central Division champs!

Have a good week since Santa Claws will be here soon. Try to make sure your beans keep calm. If not, go sit on them and purr!

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday. One week to Santa Claws and Christmouse! Are you ready?

Notice anything missing in this pic?

The sparkly tree is gone! No one stole it, but mum went to turn it on and nothing happened. No lights coming off the tree. Mum could tell the little color wheel was moving so it wasn't totally dead but no light!

Mum got her handy, dandy tools out and took it apart. You can see the color wheel and the little white base where the light goes. The little round metal piece helps hold the light in place.

So mum could get a good close up look at the light bulb and read the codes. So mum ordered another bulb and it should be here on Monday sometime. Then I will have my sparkly tree back, if mum manages to get it all back together.

So that is it from around here. We might see snow flakes today, but not much is coming. Probably going to be a No White Christmouse here.

We had a super wind storm but nothing bad happened here. We didn't lose power, nothing blew away. A bird feeder kept getting blown over but that was an easy fix. Mum picked up the sticks that fell from the trees.

Lots of people getting sick again, so you all stay safe and healthy.

Mini-ManCat Monday

If a cat has decided to love you, there's not a great deal you can do about it.

Yep, I loves my mum and she loves me back. She loves it when I lay on her and make lovey eyes at her, She says to ignore her fat looking face and just look at me adoring her!

Mum finished one blankie and started on another. She usually works on them during the feetsball game but she stopped when the Packer game came on. Said her fingers had had enuf for the day.

Feetsball Report

The Pack -  We had to wait all day for Sunday night. Playing Da Bears. Mum was saying lots of words from the bad word list early in the game.. The scoring started slow in Q1, then both teams when crazy in Q2. The Pack was losing by three points at half time. Someone must have said some majic words cuz The Pack came out like a whole different team, scoring 17 points in Q3 and not letting Da Bears get any. Q4 The Pack got a TD and kept Da Bears to a field goal. Final Score Pack 45, Da Bears 30. So 75 total points and it is only the second most points scored in a Pack/Bear game. Phew!

Have a good week everyone!

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday! Just two more weeks until Santa Claws comes. I know mum shopped for me and she says she has everything she needs. ME!

Me waiting for mum to come and sit in the reading chair and then we can count fevvers. Back on Feeder Watch patrol for the winter.

Lots of rain  yesterday, haven't heard how much. Up north lots of snow, here we are just getting a few flurries now. Mum doesn't have anywhere to go, so we will just stay home!

Happy weekend all.

Mini-ManCat Monday

Nothing's more playful than a young cat, nor more grave than an old one. - Thomas Fuller

Hmm, I like to play, so does that make me a young cat? Or, at least a young at heart cat?

Mum was around all weekend and was working on holly-day stuff. She started on the cards, made the final batches of peppermint bark and brought the little sparkly tree up from the dungeon.

The kitch-hen table full of stuff so mum can work on her cards. She got the ones that have to fly across the pond done and taken to the postal station. Now she needs to write letters in many of those that are left.
Here is me with the sparkly tree in the back. We can see if from where we normally sit or nap. Plus people walking on the trail can see it too!

Mum saw this as she drove off to the postal station on Caturday. She laffed and she peeked out later and he lights up too.Sort of matches up with the real woofie who lives inside the house.

It also spit rain and snow on Sunday, enuf to stick a bit but it won't last long. Today is supposed to be super windy so mum is staying home from going to a Christ-mouse market. She will go another day.

Feetsball Report

The Pack had a week off, becuz every team gets a week off. So mum watched little bits of other games. We are happy to report that the DeeTroit Lions beat the ViQueen! Beating the Queens is the best thing and also the Lion guys finally won a game this  year.

Plus you can see the latest blankie she is working on. I like to help her with this stuff and she is thrilled every time I climb on her lap and butt her hand. She says if I am not careful I will get my eye poked. No lady, you be careful of me!

Happy week everyone.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday. Me and mum have had a quiet beginning to our day. We sat and watched the outside in the garden area. The day getting brighter, a person bundled up to walk, the mail guy in his truck doing special deliveries. The mousie in the garden and the sqwerl chasing through the trees. A nice way to begin our day.

We woke up yesterday to this! A coat of white which melted by lunch. Mum got the outside stuff done just in time!

Mum caught me on my hammick and watching the moving picture box. Do you notice there is the word "paws"? News thing for special stuff they were doing for the purrade victims. Raising money and such.

Me and mum are going to have a quiet day today. Only a couple of chores inside, no place to go. She says she needs to start on Christ-mouse cards!

Have a happy weekend.

Garden Thursday

Yep, mum says it is today for the final garden work of the year. She will go out and use the grass eater one last time. Even off the grass and chew up the last of the leaves. The village people finally came and picked up the big pile of leaves from the street Tuesday. So now there isn't much to blow back into the yard.

Mum went out last night and counted that 6 of the 12 houses have outside lights on on them. Plus one more has a pretty tree right in front of the big window. Mum says it is nice to see all the pretty lights outside.

Mum finished the colorful blankie. This one she is calling Prizm. She decided to name all of the blankies this year. So far, Flamingo, Tortie, Lotus Blossom and Prizm. She hasn't decided what to call the newest one yet. Yeah, she started another one right away. Plus she has readed a couple of books. Heck, she reads an entire book in one day. But then she started on last night and said she didn't like it so just moved on to the next one.

Plus she made some of this stuff. She calls it peppermint bark. Doesn't look like a woofie to me!

Yes mum I do have to sit right here and keep an eye on you. Someone has to make sure you stay bizzy, otherwise you get into trouble!

Mini-ManCat Monday

There is, incidentally, no way of talking about cats that enables one to come off as a sane person. - Dan Greenberg

Ha! No wonder there are crazy cat lady people and crazy cat dad's too.

Now I am going to comment on those of you who feel that mum should come home from her furiends with leftovers for me. No, it is there food and neither me nor mum think we should ask for a to go box to bring home. If one is offered that is different. Mum says they have to use green papers to get all that food and they deserve to keep it to eat themselves.

Mum got a nice selfie with just a little bit of her when I was sitting on her boobities and soaking up the sun yesterday morning.
The hanging out with mum watching the feetsball game and snoopervising the crow-shay.
The mum got an arial shot of me on her lap with the crow-shay. Mum wasn't happy with me as the blankie is now so big she can't flip it easily to when she gets to the end of a row. I am not happy that I get disturbed so she can flip the blankie. I finally get tired to getting moved so then I leave for a while.

An update on the sad news from a week ago. Some crazy guy drove into a Christ-mouse purrade on purpose. He is in jail. Sadly six people got killed, five adults and one eight year old boy. Sixty people were hurt in some way and seven kids are still in the healing place, 18 had been there a week ago. We continue to send lots of comforting purrs to all those affected.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - They played much better this week and beat the ramming team from LaLa Land. Even with ARodg and his broken toe they did OK. Mum didn't use any words from the bad word list which means it was a pretty good game.

Bucky Badger - they played the Golden Rodent team from Mini-Soda and lost. They didn't look that good, not like some other games. If they had won they would have play in the Big 10 champion game on next Caturday. Oh well, they probably will still end up with a bowl game someplace.

Have a good week, less than a month until Santa comes! Plus Happy Hanukkah to all those kits and humans who cellybrate!

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday. Hope all my Mericky furiends are enjoying the long holly-day weekend.

Mum went off to spend the day and overnight with her furiends. First time since 2018 that she has been. Three whole years ago! Two years ago she broked her ankle and didn't feel comfortable going that far from home. Last year we were all on stay home and be safe stuff.

Look at these beauty-ful birds! Done to purr-fection. Nope, no turkey here, these are ducks! Not me, not a Ducky. Nice and tasty. Even a very short moovie of those birds.

Before dinner started they had the official popping of the corks. Mum brought the stuff in the darker bottle and that cork flew the farthest! Mum said they polished off a lot of wine during dinner.

Lots of good foods to eat, lots to talk about. Mum was happy to see some of these people since she hadn't seen some of them for three years. A chance to talk and catch up. She also met a new woofie named Loki. A little fluff ball of a dog, a Pomeranian, mum said. He didn't bark much but he did want to jump at peoples legs.

Mum fed me a nice feast afore she left. Gave me cuddles and kisses and said to guard the house good while she was gone. When she got home the house was still here so I guess I did a good job. Mum also did not bring leftovers for me, but she said they didn't eat it all either. Stuff for her furiends to eat over the weekend.

Plus me helping mum with the latest blankie, she is making good progress. More will get done during the feetball during the weekend. Plus mum is reading books as usual.

So, that my furiends it my Caturday report. Have a grate rest of the weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving

Here in Mericky this is the official day for giving thanks. Something we should really do every day. Be thankful for what we have, not what we want.

So today, count your blessings, not the calories!

Mini-ManCat Monday

Cats' whiskers are so sensitive, they can find their way through the narrowest crack in a broken heart.

I am needing all of my whiskers today for peoples who are hurting today. Yesterday near us someone drove through people in a Christ-mouse purrade hitting people in the purrade and people just watching. As mum helps me write this we don't know the exact number of people hurt or if anyone died. Please join me in sending purrs to those who are hurting.

Feetsball Report - The Pack lost to the ViQueens. It was a close game.

Have a good week.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday. A bit cloudy at the moment but things are supposed to get sunny later and the temps are nice. Mum has to go out and bury her two-lip bulbs today so they bloom next spring.

Mum got a few nice pics of me in the front window the other day. Just chillin'!

Mum finished one blankie last night and started another one. She hasn't taken the official done picture yet. She wants more sun coming in the window to do that.

Happy Weekend all, turkey day is coming soon.

Thankful Thursday

One week to the official thankful day. Me and mum are thankful for all we have!

Mum has pretty much finished off the outside work. Tuesday she cut down and hauled off the last of that stuff. Yesterday she moved leaves off the grass and into the street. The village people will come and take them away.

Mum will need to use the grass eater one last time to chew up the last of the leaves and get the grass short for the snow season.

Mum also got the Christ-mouse lights up on the front of the house. Those will be turned on after next Thursday.

Once she gets all of this done then I won't have much to snoopervise, so then I guess I can just nap!

Mini-ManCat Monday

Cats are absolute individuals, with their own ideas about everything, including the people they own. - John Dingman

The one purrson I own is mum. I've got her heart wrapped up and in my paw. I love to sit on her and give her loves and get loves in return.

The weather guessers guessed wrong again for us yesterday. Other than a little bit of snow on the house roofs that was all we got. Mum was even good to make sure she put the snow brush in the metal monster and she didn't need it.

Mum went out on Caturday night for another racy car awards dinner. She didn't win anything again and she says she wasn't expecting to. Just nice to see some people one last time before the winter sets in. Mum says fewer people that usual, maybe about 80 instead of the usual 125-150.

Mum had no problem driving, what snow was falling melted on the roads.

Me and mum watching The Pack and ARodg. He had a week off to behave at home with the virus.

The snow blowing around the stadium during the game. It wasn't enuf to make the game really interesting with collection on the ground.

Feetsball Report

The Pack won. It was a low scoring game for most of the game but The Pack finally got into gear and scored. Even better they managed to keep the other team from scoring at all.

Happy week everyone.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday. The seasons are changing. We saw our first white stuff come from the sky yesterday! Even more to come tomorrow.

Lots of leaves falling, finally mum says, from the trees. That is the last part of the yard cleanup for the year. Then mum can sit and read and crow-shay. Well, she does that anyway!

I will just nap! Happy weekend.
