Tuesday This and That

Winter has arrived with a vengeance. Mum left for work on Monday, all quiet. It started to snow and blow. Mum was home by early afternoon and just did what she could from home.

Got up early, cleared out the snow to get to work and home at the regular time. The back outside to finish clearing out the snow. Now she is resting, feets up. Heaty pad on her back. I am purring on her so she can still move!

Mum didn't take any pictures but said it was probably 7-8 inches of snow. Guess we will have a white New Year.

ManCat Monday

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat. - Leo Dworken

Yep, we will always amember Derby. Mum and I didn't do much over the holly-day weekend.  Mum went to her furiends house and guess what I found? A picture of a woofie!
This is me checking out the hammick. Mum moved it over the heaty spot since I like to hang out there. But I haven't gone on the hammick.
I want to be by the heaty spot so I crawled under the hammick. Mum says I am missing the point here. No, you are messing up my nap spot mum!

Sunday, mum did her usual Sunday stuff. Plus she worked on the blankie while she watched the game.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - PEEEEEE UUUUUU! They stunk things up again this week and lost big time. Iffy defense, pretty much no offense. They did manage to score, but not until the third quarter. Yeah, they are in the playoffs, but mum says they aren't likely to go far.

The Broncos - play on Monday night, Mr Peyton still on the sidelines this week.

Winter is coming, we are supposed to get snow, ice and wind today. Drive safely if you are out in this mess.

Derby Sunday

Yeah, I knows the horsie race is the first Caturday of May. Today is the day that Derby went to be an angel. We miss the big guy.

Even a couple with his first Christmouse tree.

Caturday - Boxing Day

HiYa, Ducky here. Hope you had a grate Christmouse. Mine was good. Mum helped me open up my Secret Paw prezzies from Forty Paws.

Mum took off to have dinner with furiends. Very casual and laid back. They had lasagna! Simple, prepared ahead, so only had to put in the oven for a bit, make a salad and garlic bread. Pie and cookies for desert. Mum came home stuffed. Good talks and laffs.
Come on mum, I need your thumbs to help me get all these little packages opened.
A fevver butt mouise, my favorite and the first thing mum unwrapped. I got you little guy!
All of the rest unwrapped including more nip, more mice and a Forty Paws hammick!
Mum this seems a bit off kilter, are you sure you put it together OK? I wasn't so sure about this thing and wouldn't get on it.
Mum picked me up and gently put me on it and I......
....promptly got off it. Mum hasn't seen me on it yet.
She did nip it up and put treats on it, but I can get the treats without going on the hammick. I am sure I will use it soon, just not yet.
It's boxing day, I guess I will go play with the box the stuff came in!

Merry Christmouse!

It is a No White Christmouse for us. Our continuing mild weather means no snow, mum likes it for driving places. We hope you have a nice day spending it with family or furiends.

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, (because he was of the house and lineage of David,) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. Luke 2: 1-20 (KJV)

Derby the Red Nosed Reincat

Derby, the red-nosed reincat
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him, you would even say it glows.

All of the other reincats used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Derby

join in any reincat games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve

Santa came to say:

Derby with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reincats loved him
as they shouted out with glee, Derby the red-nosed reincat,
you'll go down in history!

If you are looking for to keep you occupied until it is time to sleep so Santa Claws shows up you are all welcomed to stop by the annual Catmas Eve Party!

Tuesday This and That

Howdy gang. Mum is watching the moving picture box, local seasonal TV with singing and such.

Don't worry, I will get my shots at the yarn and blankie. She is just getting started on it. Yeah, she has one of those plastic force fields to protect yarn, but she has other yarn in it right now. So I will get lots of chances to get at it.
But mum does have it protected. Inside one bag and then another. That is OK. I will bide my time.

She thinks I am napping, ha! I will spring when she least expects it get my chance.

Mancat Monday

The only thing a cats worries about is what's happening right now. As we tell the kittens, you can only wash one paw at a time. - Lloyd Alexander

Happy Monday, Christmouse is this week. Excitement coming! Mum is feeling better and is headed back to day hunt for three days this week. She pretty much laid low all weekend and only did what she had to, with one exception.

The exception, a shopping excursion! Not fighting the crowds but to get yarns to make a blankie. Seems there will be a new addition to the family in a few months. Mum has been told it will be a little girl and the mum-to-be said pink would work.
All sorts of little balls of yarn, pinks and whites. Yeah, I see this, would make a nice toy for me to play with.

The first little corner to start, but then it gets hard for me to occupy mum's lap for lovin'. Not so sure about this.

Planning my next move, that white bag has some of the yarn stuff in there and you can see the corner of the blankie. But mum was firm about me not messing with the blankie. FINE! I will go and sit by the sparkly tree and watch what is going on outside.
This is what she got done while watching the feetsball game.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - They won, but mum says it was ugly. The defense helped out big time with catching two of the other guys passes, one for a TD. Other plays they try such fancy stuff, mum says just run it and ram it down their throat. Specially if you are on the one yard line!

The Broncos - Mr Peyton still standing on the side lines, his paw is still healing. They went to play the Steel Men and started fast but came up short.

Happy Holly-Day week.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday.

Well mum got another long weekend here, just like last week, but this one wasn't scheduled. She felt icky Wednesday evening, getting all chilled, then all hots. So she went to bed early. She went to day hunt on Thursday but came back really early and went back to bed.

She was sleeping good when the phone beeped about an Amber Alert and I, nurse Ducky was all there to cuddle and care for her.
I wonder how long she would have slept without that beep. But then she got up and stuck a thing under her tongue, not up her spot 13! Said it was over 101, so she called the doc. They said drink, drink and more drinks, but not adult beverage drinks! Plus some drugs.

She has slept lots, stayed home on Friday too. Lots of cuddles, naps and such for both of us. Plus when she got the mail in my Secret Paw package had arrived. I got to sniff and see stuff but not open all those neat little packages.

Mum is feeling better, getting ready to go get her head fur all curled and purrty for the hollidays!

Plus Mum says we will have another four day weekend next week. Cool!

Whapping Wednesday

Mum says she is over halfway done with the week. Friday is the company Christmouse get together, but she won't stay late. It is just drinks and appetizers. She has never been to the place they are having it, so she can go check it out. She wasn't impressed with the other place they have had it.

Mum made a couple of moovies with me and my tail.

Then this one is supposed to be in slo-motion. Not sure if you can tell the difference.

Then she came home and said she had her purrr-furmance review today. Everything is cool, but the guy said this would be the last time he did this. Mum thinks he is going to retire in the next year.

Been mostly cloudy and rainy, a little bits of sun here and there. Going to get cold for a few days, then back to mild stuff. That means more gloomy days. Bummer.

ManCat Monday

The cat is above all things, a dramatist.  -  Margaret Benson

Who us? Drama kings and queens? Really? OK if you say so.

Mum has to head back to day hunting today. I am sure she is bummed by that as she really likes being home with me.  She did gets lots done while she was home. Did all the holly-day cards and got them sent out; made the last few batches of peanut brittle; cuddled with me lots.

I must have done a good job snoopervising so that she could get so much done in the past few days. Says she is ready for Christmouse to come.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - they won and they actually looked good doing it! Seems the coach decided he needed to go back to calling the plays. So they whooped them Cowboys good.

The Broncos - Mr Peyton is still just standing on the sidelines. Seems his paw hasn't healed just yet, but the team didn't do so well with the backup. Losing to the Raiders. The Pack gets to play the Raiders next week.

Everyone have a good week.

Caturday

HiYa, Ducky here. Quiet morning so far. Mum has been slow getting going, taking advantage of extra sleep time. We cats know all about the importance of sleeps.

Not much planned for the day. Mum wants to watch the moovie she brought home from the library. About racy cars and RUSHing around. Hope she likes it.
Me, I am going to take it easy as well. Not much going on, so nothing special to snoopervise.

Have an awesome weekend gang.

Bizzy Thursday

I got a mum day today. We had nice early snuggles, leisurely brekkie together. Then she did some in house chores. Got the Christmouse labels printed, the cards brought out, the stuff wrapped for my Secret Paw pals done.

Then she went out to have lunch with a furiend, who has a new calico kittie! A feral that was hanging around and they finally coaxed inside as of Monday. Lots of fleas and going to the vet tomorrow.

Then mum came home, finished reading her book. Then off to the station with the Secret Paw package and then to the library.
Little package, all set to go, with the exeption of who it goes to. Could it be you?
Mum also fed the fevvers and found a dead chickadee in the yard. Poor guy, but Trout Towne will be happy to see a deaded burd!
This is what our back yard looks like. No snow, grass still sort of green. This was taken about 3 PM today. Warm today, in the 50's, but super windy. Still mum went outside without a jacket on.
Here is the sky, no icky white stuff in the forecast either. I think Friday is supposed to be OK too and I also will have another mum day. Woohoo.

Tuesday This and That

I hissed at mum tonight! I don't think I have every hissed at her before. Why did I hiss? Well, she got her big, fat foot on top of my paw!

She was getting ready to put some gooshy foods down for me and I was trying to beat her to the spot. Yep, my paw and her foot got into the same place. Her fault, she should know and watch out for me better!

I am fine, no problems. I am now sitting behind her on the couch, using my paws to push at her neck, like this.
Pushing hard, so much so I am moving her head. She has to work to keep her head in a good position. I can mess with your head honey!

ManCat Monday

Dogs have their day, but cats have 365. - Lillian Jackson Braun.

Ah yes, back to Monday. Mum will have to get going and go day hunt.
Mum switched out the throw on the couch on Sunday. I burrowed under it for a while, mum was tickling me. So then I decided I would come out to escape the tickling.

Mum saw this comic on our paper, but she says they are not talking about my sweetie, Dora the Explorer.
Mum made three more batches of peanut brittle yesterday. Says she needs some to take to the library board meeting on Wednesday. They have their meeting, then relax, visit, have munchies and a beverage.  They have it away from the library since the beverages are the adult version!
Mum took a picture of our outside Christmouse lights. You can just make out that they are on. She should have waited until it was just a little darker.

Oh well, everyone have a good week.
