Feeling Better

Mum is feeling better, she thinks she gotted a quick stomach bug. She slept alot overnight. I tried to help out this morning when the noisy thing that wakes her up went off. I jumped on the bed and turned it off. Mum laughed at me, as somehow I hit the correct button to turn it off. Hey, I'm good, what can I say. ;>)

She says to thank you all for the good words. She says she is a tough old bird (I thought she was a humum) and a little bug won't keep her down for long.

So tonight we are spending some quiet time together. Cuddle and snuggle time. Mum says another early night as well. She needs her beauty sleep. Mum, you are bee-ute-i-ful, no matter how much or little sleep you get. I love you. PURRRRRR.

Bugs

Not the good bugs either. Mum came home early and wented to bed. She said her tummy was feeling poorly. So I have to go and check up on her. See if she needs anything. Dr. Derby to the rescue.

Yuck

At least it is a yucky day. All of our snow has melted, we got rained on and foggy. So it has been a wonderful day to curl up on the couch and snooze. I have just been curled up on the couch with my mousie. Mum is working on stuff so she is ready to go back to work tomorrow.

She cooked some earlier, she gave me a very tiny taste of hamburger. Not bad, so she can give me more of this in the future. She is very careful on what she feeds me. As she tells me, it is her food not mine. But she will share if I don't beg.

Opus and Roscoe, mum says she will cheer for Idnia, no, India, hmm, Indianap, .... the Colts on tv tomorrow. Mum says "Da Bears" won again and the Packers play in a little bit.

Mum said she talked to the peoples next door, they went hunting and got eight deers. She says that is good. Mum talked to some other neighbors and found out they have a girl kitty. But she only stays in the house, so not the one who visited last week. We still haven't figured out where that kitty lives, but we haven't seen it since.

Charlie's Tag Game

Oh yeah, I forgotted to post my ansers to Charlie's tag game.

Favourite place to sleep?
On my mum’s bed with the teddy bear

Favourite music?.
What ever mum is listening to. Classical, musicals, Michael Crawford, Frank Sinatra, Beatles

Favourite toy?
My blue mousie

Favourite flavour of Stinky Goodness?

I don’t get to eat Stinky Goodness. I get dry kibble, but get treats like scrambled egg, tuna, turkey, cheese

Favourite human?
MUM!

Favourite game?

Peek

Favourite window?

You mean I can only pick one? Mum’s bedroom window, I can see the birdies from there and jump on mum’s feet as she lays in bed.

Favourite naughty thing to do?

Run after mum and pounce on her feet.

Careful There, Little Guy

Whoops, I was just trying to catch the mouse cord to get control of the 'puter when I slid off the couch. With no claws I slowly slipped to the floor. Short trip so no damage.

Mum doled out some more turkey tonight for me, with enough left for another day. She says I eat turkey faster than I eat tuna. Well, I don't get it as often. And mum doesn't feed me enough to make me sleepy, Oreo. Matter of fact I was just chasing around some of my toys, the blue mousie, a jingle ball and the inside cardboard from the toilet paper.

It snowed yesterday, mum says we got about 3 inches. She moved the snow off the driveway and brought some in for me. It's cold and wet, what would I want to do with this stuff? I am an indoor cat, keep the outside stuff outside.

OK, mum is done with the dinner dishes, time to act like I wasn't using the 'puter.

Lazy Day

Mum and I took it easy today. We sat by the big window and watched the birds, and I saw the hawk today. He landed in the crabapple tree, sat for a few minute and then flew off. Mum says it is a sharp-shinned hawk. It was also just starting to snow. So it is very pretty out.

Mum gave me a little bit more turkey today, nothing more as the dressing has onjuns in it. Mum says kitties are not supposed to eat onjuns as they are bad for us.

I also bugged mum and she updated all of the links to the rest of the gangs blogs. I hope she didn't miss anyone. I guess I better check that.

OK, supper is done, time for my early evening nap, then bug mum to play with me.

I'm Dreaming...ZZZZZZ

Hmmm, mum left early. Nothing to do but nap and dream of turkey, turkey, turkey turkey, turkey, turkey, turkey . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z z. Huh, I'm awake.

Wait, mum is home and yes, she scored. TURKEY ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Enough she says for me to have a little bit for a couple of days.

I luv my mum, she comes through with the good stuff.

Hope all of my furry friends out there had a good day. Hope you got your favorite treats today.

Happy Thanksgiving

Mum got as good a picture as she could with me and the colorful lights. I didn't want to hold still for long, so I am a little blurry. I also refused to really pose well. Mum tried to bribe me with a treat, but then I jumped off the TV to eat it.

We got a small amount of snow today. Makes the birdies easier to see outside. Mum and I counted over a dozen at one time on the 'kitty TV' feeders.

Mum has stayed home today but was working in the dungeon. I gotted put out of the room again and the door is shut so I can't check on what she was doing. She said I has to stay out or I would be the color of regal oak.

Mummy has promised me turkey even though she is not cooking the dinner. Boy have I got her trained.

To all, Happy Thanksgiving. Safe traveling.

More Shopping

For someone who is on vacation and not going to work, Mum seems to be busy. She left and came back home three different times. Each time with packages that got put away before I even got a chance to check any of them out. Mum says these are special things for later. How much later?

The good thing that when mum comes home I get my typical welcome home routine. So three batches of ear and chin scritches. I like that.

Yes, my mum has a screen saver of me! You can do this too with any picture that is JPG format. All you need is the screen saver program which you can get for free. Mum got hers from secondnature.com.

Mum says there is a show on the pets left homeless by hurricane Katrina. Guess that is what we will be watching. This will be better than watching sports, even mum got tired of football last night and went to bed.

My Turn?

Mum has finally finished with the 'puter so I can do my thing. I was trying to help her print out Grampie's Christmas letter and such. But mum wanted me totally out of the way, so I gotted picked up, and put outside the room and then mum closed the door.

Oh, and mum didn't go to work today. Seems she has vacation this week. She did work hard today anyway. More outside work to make the outside of the house purrty.

Plus she went to the human stabby place today, just a checkup. But she used to work at a human stabby place and did the stabbing. AHHH. She says she gave it up, so I have nothing to worry about.

Mum thinks the kitty we saw the other night belongs to someone who lives nearby. They don't keep their kitties inside all the time. So she hopes the kitty went home to get warm and has an outside spot to stay warm.

Mum needs to get ready for the football game tonight. Monday Night Football with the Packers, they get to play outisde in the cold. Brrrrrrr.

Night Visitors

Mum and me got spooked out by a kitty last night. It jumped up on the outside of the front window. I jumped and then mum got up to look outside. She turned on the light to see if she could help the cold kitty but he runned away. It looked alot like either Opus or Roscoe. But mum says they live to far away to drop by for a visit.

Today mum went on the roof of the house. She is very brave to do that. Grampie comes over to hold the ladder. Mummy got her big blowee machine out and cleaned the roof of all of the leaves. So the outside of the house looks very pretty.

The neighbor lady put some sparkly lights in her windows today. Makes the sleepy room bright, so not sure if mum will like it at night. Mum says they will not be on all night.

When Grampie was here he kept telling me to go in the closet. Mum kept telling him that she wants me to stay out of the closet. So I just left them alone and napped on mum's bed with the teddy bear.

Out of the Closet

Well mum didn't have to go to work today, so I didn't get stuck in the closet. Mum didn't even go anywhere today. But mum rechecked the boots and made sure I hadn't left any presents. Shaggy wanted to know what I used for a litter box. But I had just used my real one. So with no breakfast I really didn't need to do anything. I have feeling that mum will be a little extra careful on this in the future.
But I forgive her as I know she loves me. To show her I had no hard feelings I snuggled up on the bed with her this morning. I didn't even wake her up early.

We had a nice day. Mum cleaned and then we sat at the big windows and watched the birdies. Well at least I did. Mum readed her magazines and a book. Mum is getting my flyer toy out. She pulls a string and a little helicopter thingy flys off. I like to try and catch it. So gotta' go and play.

Guilt Trip

It is a good night, I've got mum on a guilt trip. She left for work this morning and didn't see that I was in the closet. So I spent the whole day shut in. I spent most of the day napping. Not much else to do. I did dig up a bit of the carpet egde but mum didn't seem to be upset by this.

So when she came home I was not at the door to greet her. But I let out a meow and she found me real fast. So since she felt so bad about shutting me in all day, I got some special treats. TUNA, cheese and chicken. I have to try sneaking in there more often if this is what I get. YUM.

Thursday, November 17, 2005

Mum got home early, seems the 'puters at work didn't work right. So we already have our feet up for a lazy evening. And keeping warm together.

But mum warned me she has to have a call tonight with the other side of the earth, with people from Korea and Singapore. Wow, any kitties out their from these places?

Winter is Arriving

Mum got out her winter coat today, mittens and earmuffs. To bad hu-mums don't come with a nice fur coat like us cats. Although I will take my winter looking at it through the window. Not like Shaggy who likes going outside in this weather. But we don't even have snow on the ground yet.

I managed to get mum to take off my new collar. Houdini strikes again. Saturday a string was loose and I got a tooth caught. Mum managed to get that off without problem. But tonight I was working at trying to get if off and got my tags caught in my mouth. So to keep me safe mum took it off. Seems the length slipped so I could get this in my mouth. I am hoping she will give up trying to make me wear a collar. She wants me to wear a a collar so I make noise and can't sneak up on her. But that is the most fun.

Extra cuddles, sandpaper kisses and purrayers to my mum's friend Barb. Barb's mum passed away yesterday.

Just a few shots where the cat is quicker than the flashy box. :-}

Mummy's Home

I love it when mum gets home. I hear the garage door open, then close. Then I call to her to hurry inside. Once inside she sits down her big bag and lets me rub my scent on them. Then she sits on a chair that I can walk in and out of her legs. I get petted from nose to tail with lots of scritches on my ears and chin. She just sits and continues until I decide I have had enough.

Grampie, the family and the Packers

Grampie was over to visit. We had to watch some of the football game for him. Thankfully the Packer's won today so he is happy. Here you can see me sitting next to him. Maybe I should fill you in on mum's family.

Well there is Grampie. He lives nearby and comes over to help mum with stuff sometimes. Other days he just comes over and they might watch the big box with moving pictures, usually sports. But mum always fixes him a nice meal and such.

Grampie just turned 90 years old a few months ago. Mum had the entire family for a visit and had a wonderful party for his birthday. She has two older brothers, Flip and Stormie. Stormie has two sons. They all live far away so they do not visit often. One of Stormie's son has a kitty named Claire. So I have a cousin in the family and you can see her picture as well.

You can also see the new collar that mum bought me yesterday. Not the nice red one that we both liked, mum has a preference for red. But a neon multi-color (the only color they had), but the bells are red. Plus my nice blue ID tag. I make a lot of noise when I walk, so it is hard to sneak up on mum. She likes that.

A special shout out to Roscoe, Opus who lived in Derbyland when they were in the United States. They now hang out in Italy. Also to Mia, Ghost, Scooby, Shaggy and Scout.

Oh, it must be getting late, mum is heading to bed. So I better end this and keep her warm in bed.

Saturday

Wow, mum has had a very busy day. She got up earlier than usual for a Saturday. She left the house for a while but when she came back she had lots of bags. Some of the stuff was for me. :-). She said she went to two different bizaars. First one was where Grampie lives, but mum said there wasn't anything there for me. Then she went to the bizaar at HAWS. She found a few things for me. Some catnip cookies and a new collar. I liked the bit of cookie she gave me. The jury is still out on the collar. I haven't been able to work out to get out of it. Mum says that is why she bought it.

Then mum worked on the house. She got out the big noisy sucking machine and worked with that for a while, Moved some stuff around in the basement, including my litter box. Then she opened the one window and I immediatly jumped up. But that got me put in my box for a few minutes. When I got out the wind wasn't able to come through the window. Mum said she put me in my box so I didn't jump outside the house and run away.

Mum got all dressed up and went out to dinner with friends. She left me in charge for the evening. I think I did a wonderful job.

TGIF

Ahhh. Friday night, time to relax. But mum came home and cooked which she doesn't usually do on a Friday night. Which at the end I get to sample some of the stuff. Mum gave me some cheese. Yummy.

I found a fellow adoptee from HAWS today on a blog, so check out the gang at Crew's Views. My current mum is actually my second mum as my first had to give me up when she moved into a place that would not allow kitties. Mum found me at HAWS and picked me. It made me very happy to come to a nice loving home. All of you go out and check out your local shelter. There are always kitties who need a good home. I asked if mum would get another kitty, but she said I am more than enough for her. Aww mum, wouldn't it be even more fun if there were two or more of me?

Mum got a good picture of me taking a nap with one of her many teddy bears (she collects them). One of the times when she has caught me snoozing. She thinks that this is one of the best pictures she has taken of me. I was holding still and got her two favorite things in the same picture. I like the blanket that is on the bed. Grammie made it for my mum many years ago. Grammie isn't alive anymore, so this reminds mum of her.

CBI - Cat Bureau of Investigation

Mum found some foot prints on a mirror. I don't know why she thinks these are mine!

Mum and I had a great time playing just before bedtime last night. We play a game mum calls "peek". I am on the floor near the bed, she peeks over and I jump up and tag her. She then peeks over again and tags me back. I managed to tag her pretty good once. She laughs when we play this. Then later I was sitting on the end of the bed. I decided to go into pounce mode and launched myself off the bed. Mum says I have a cute butt wiggle.

Then she turned off the lights and snuggled down under the blankies. I snuggled up next to her and purred her to sleep. It was a good night.

Wednesday, November 9, 2005

Mummy got home very late from work tonight. Something about finishing "closing the books". I don't know what takes so long to close a book or even two. Even I can close a book. They usually put me to sleep.

So mum needed to have dinner and I wanted to help her eat it. But she kept telling me this was her food not mine. Wasn't she taught to share? It was even chicken. I like chicken.

Tuesday, November 8, 2005

Mum is busy watching the big box with moving pictures. That means I have time to work on my message. She has been busy doing lots of little tasks. She went outside to put out food for the birdies, even though it is dark out. She said this means they will have lots of food in the morning. Then she worked on my box to make it nice and clean. Washing my food dishes. Now she has a chance to relax.

Which means I can curl up by her and get some treats, and just generally get some lovin' from my mum. Mum also warned me that it might be another stormy night. That means lots of flashes in the sky, and not from mum's little flashy box. I don't mind storms which makes mum very happy. Then she doesn't have to come and find me in any hiding spot. It is also getting very windy. I can hear mum's outside chimes making lots of noise.

Oh, mum looks like she is done with the TV, that means play time. Bye!!!! :-)

OHIM (Oh, Heck Its Monday)

Ah, now that mum is home and busy, she left the computer open for me to use. She has a huge pile of papers from the black box on the front of the house to play with. Eventually she will put them on the floor for me to play with.

I surprised mum tonight when she got home. She walked into the sleepy room and in the dim light saw a big dark spot on the floor. It wasn't a woopsie but my big blue mouse. She laughed and I know she was happy that it wasn't any other kind of present.

Mum is reading the shelter newsletter. Seems they have a special thingy this Saturday called a bizaar. Mum loves them and I think she might be looking for fun things to bring home for me. At least I hope so. If you get a chance go have your mums and dads go and buy toys at the bizaar at HAWS. The webbysite for HAWS is on my links.

My mug shot from the shelter. What big eyes you have. :-0 Posted by Picasa

Silly Mum putting my mouse on me Posted by Picasa
Sunday and we actually did get sun later in the day. I camped out in the window to soak up the sun. After all of the storms last night it was nice to see the sun.
My mum went out to work picking up all of the leaves and such that the storm blew down. While she was getting out her work gloves and such I went into the closet. But mum didn't see me and I was stuck in the closet for over two hours. Mum finally finished her outside work and when she opened the closet to hang up her jacket out I came. She had a good laugh about this. She and Grampie did this to me a while back. Thankfully I could take a nice nap as there is a nice soft rug in the closet. But I prefer taking my naps outside of the closet.

Saturday, November 5, 2005

It started out to be a good day. Mum got up and we played. I could'vu played all day. Then she left and was gone for a long time. She took her big work bag. But when she came back she had funny hair. Hmmm. It looks like it is going to be a dark and stormy night.

A Little Bit of Trouble

Ah, I had mum worried for a while tonight. First I ate too fast and it came right back up. Right on the living room carpet. Then later I must have been dreaming as I was twitching and grunting. When I woke up she had a worried look on her face.

I also was in a bit of trouble. Last night mum heard a noise and got up to investigate. When she wouldn't play I got a little carried away. This morning she showed me where I had scratched her on the arm. Sorry mum. I justed wanted to play.

Oh well. Tomorrow is Saturday. Maybe more of time to play.

Derby, The Sassy Cat

Hey, my human mum (hu-mum?) has left the computer on. Now is my chance to leave my message. I'm Derby, just your basic cat. But mum says I am one sassy cat.

I live with my mum in a lovely house with lots of windows. That way I can watch all of the birdies outside. My mum even puts special food out to bring them around for me to watch.

I just turned two a few weeks ago. My mum says that is like my being a teenager. She says I even have acne like a teenager. Whatever acne is, she even washes my chin for me. Doesn’t she know I can do this myself?
