ManCat Monday

It always gives me a shiver when I see a cat seeing what I can't see. - Eleanor Farjeon

Ha! Made ya look! Mum sees me staring off at things but she gets wise and doesn't always follow my gaze. Someday the boogie man will get her!

Miss Megan wanted to know about the soup from Caturday. It is called Sherried Tomato Soup. It is a creamy tomato soup and easy to make. Tasty too! Mum had some for lunch along with a grilled cheese samwich.

Me buried under the blankie while mum works on it. Below she took a pic of me under the blankie by taking a picture of the mirror. It is fuzzy as mum cropped it a lot so you can really see me. You can see her clunky boot too.
The inside of the yarn she is working on.
We are going to enjoy the last few days of the year, hope you do too.

Sportz Report

The Pack -The won, but it was ugly. They played poorly especially in the first half. But they did win, so that means they get next weekend off afore they have to play a playoff game.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy last Caturday of the year! Just a short while we will have a new year to hang out in.

Mum gave me the other half of my Christmouse prezzie which was a nip nanner. Oh yeah, it is good to have some fresher nip. Mum even said we could get a new one sent every few months from the A to Z store with auto-delivery. She didn't do that.

Thanks mum and she even made a moovie of me and it was so long she made it into two parts.

Otherwise me and mum are just hanging out. She is reading her books and working on the crow-shay. She does so much crow-shay these days she gets these blankies done quickly. Here is the finished product from the other day and she has a good start on a new one with the same colors.
Why the same colors? Well she finally got around to organizing all of her yarns and discovered she had lots more yarn of the same color. Top shelf on the left. So she figures she should use it up. She is happy cuz now she can more easily see what she has afore she goes shopping again.
She even got ambitious and made some soup with a new recipe. Makes a lot of soup and it didn't take her long to do it. Those the the recipes that are good, plus it tasted good too. This was the prize winner from the soup contest at the race track back in September.
That is about it for this Caturday. Enjoy your weekend.

Throw Back Thursday

Happy Day after Christmouse! I hope you all had a good day. Me and mum spent it quietly at home, her with her footy up as usual. She did make a nice dinner for herself of cornish hen and I corn casserole.
Rather than cook the whole corn thing she just did a small  bowl, she saved the rest to cook another day. She hopes it will turn out nice. Below is the finished product. I did get a taste of the chick-hen.
My prezzie was a new beddie! It is even a heated on so I don't have to spend the entire time on my hammick. Mum hasn't tested it yet and neither have I!
Right now it is just sitting near the  hammick. I did sniff it, but that is all.

Happy Boxing Day and Happy Kwanzaa for those who celly-brate that way and those days.
Our throw back is Derby with his Christmouse stuff from 10 years ago.

Boxing Day

Hope everyone had a good Christmouse. I claimed the box that one of Grampies prezzies came in, he thought it was funny I was just sitting on top of the box. Mum said if I could I would have been in the box. But then Grampie's new shirt would have had cat fur on it!
So then mum mput that box away, but I still have a few to choose on the table. This one is nice and it was from my Secret Paws Laila and Minchie.
So I got a few cool things, first a new red dot toy, the old one wasn't working well. Mum showed it off to Grampie and I did my best to catch the red dot. He couldn't believe how I chased it around.
Then I got a bunch of new mousies, a whole big package of 12! But mum only took two out of the package for now. But they are both fevver butt and leather butt mousies!
Here they are up close, the black ones have fevvers and the grey ones have leather. I was on my last fevver butt mousie, so I am happy I gots more.
We had a wet and white Christmouse here. The ground was white but it mostly rained from the 24th and 25th. Only started to get white stuff again late on the 25th and today more white stuff.

Mum did venture out today for the sales but only bought some lights to put on the patio. Now she can see when she has to do birdie food when it is dark outside. Otherwise she has been reading lots as she has a very fat book to finish, I have been napping lots.

Merry Christmouse

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, (because he was of the house and lineage of David,) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. Luke 2: 1-20 (KJV)

It is a no white Christmouse for us. Guess since we had a snowy Halloweenie we get no snow now. At least it makes for better traveling for those who are traveling. Be safe out there gang.

Christmouse Eve

Happy Christmouse Eve. Me and mum are up and just sort of lazing around. Mum still has her jammies on.

Sports Report  The Pack won on Monday night feetballs. It was significant in many ways. First the won the NFC North title, first time they won in the ViQueens stadium, and they kept the opposing QB's record at 0 for Monday Night feetsball. One more regular season game on Sunday at the Lions.

Mum dug out a special throw back for today. It features Derby and a song for him. Enjoy.

Derby, the red-nosed reincat
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him, you would even say it glows.

All of the other reincats used to laugh and call him names.
They never let poor Derby

join in any reincat games.

Then one foggy Christmas Eve

Santa came to say:

Derby with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"

Then all the reincats loved him
as they shouted out with glee, Derby the red-nosed reincat,
you'll go down in history!

ManCat Monday

The little furry buggers are just deep, deep wells you throw all your emotions into. - Bruce Schimmel

Happy Monday! First we want to wish all of those who cellybrate it a Happy Hanukkah that you have a wonderful cellybration for the next 8 days.
We had a change in plans on Caturday. Miss Lynn didn't come over as her mum had a medical issue. She is OK. So the laundry got one on Sunday instead. Along with a bit of the sucking monster coming out. Mum even got me in her arms for a minute so Miss Lynn could touch me. I smell woofie on her and stay away.

With the laundry mum decided it was time to change out my hammick fabric. It had lots and lots of furs on it, so now I have to start over and get this one all comfy. I had the other one so furred up that clumps of shed furs were clinging to it and even falling on the floor. That is one thing mum hasn't done on me lately is give me a good brush. She likes to do that sitting on the floor and well, she isn't getting down on the floor anytime soon. Mainly cuz she won't get up again!
Old one above, the new clean one below. The old one went through the wash, so it is clean again too.
So in between laundry loads, first one done, second in the dryer, mum treated Miss Lynn to lunch. Went to the new place in town and the guy at the front desk was stupid. He told them it was a 20 minute wait for a table. Mum said they would eat at the bar, so they walked in to the seating area and there were all sorts of tables open. So she just asked one of the servers about taking a table and he said sure. She also let the server know that the guy at the door was saying there were no open tables when there were. Mum has now been to this place 5 times in the past two months. She needs a break from this place. She said she tried everything she has wanted to try, so time to give it a break.

Sportz Report

The Pack plays on Monday night. Hoping for a victory and clinching the NFC North!

Guess that is all for now. Christmouse will be here super soon.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday! Just a short time from Christmouse now, last Caturday afore Christmouse! Hope you got your shopping done, if not the stores will be crazy!

Miss Lynn is supposed to come by to help mum with laundry later. So that means mum better get going and get dressed. Mum says yes, she will do that once she is done typing for me!
I did get a peek at one of my Christmouse prezzies, a new nip nanner! Mum won't let me have it for good until Christmouse Day! So I have that to look forward to.
The other thing in that little box was the blue belt. It helps mum to do her stretchies on her ankle to get it moving again like it should. It is all stiff right now, so mum works on it a little at a time a few times a day. She even did a short walkies without the boot on. Not much and not many steps but that way she can tell how it feels to walk. Woohoo mum, you are getting better.
We got the card below from one of mum's cuzzins. A new version of the 12 days of Christmouse, especially from Wisconsin!
So that is about it for now. The sun is up and shining, so I may need to find a sun puddle or two today to nap in.

Happy Winter Solstice Day! The sun can start coming back to us, the daylight time can get longer again. WooHoo!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Throw Back Thursday

Mum ordered stuff from the A to Z company. Well she has been ordering lots of stuff for herself cuz she needed stuff since her ankle broke. Well two of the packages that arrived yesterday she says are for me! The catch, I don't get them until Christmouse!

So our throw back today is Derby showing off his many sleeping spots. The one thing he never had was the hammick.

Thursday December 17, 2009
My Beds

I sleep where ever I want. Mum's bed, the couch, the guest bed, but I do have my own spots that I don't have to share.
Here is my firsted and original bed. It was the only one I had when I first got here. It is in the front room where mum hangs out the most when she is home. We can see the moving picture box from here, or listen to the music.
Yes it is a tight fit, but I like it. I can be all snuggled in in just fine.
Then I have this great big pod that mum won a couple of years ago. At first she had it in the front room, practically next to my firsted bed. Then she moved it back by the big windows that go to the floor. I love the fleecey to lay on, you can see my Gizzy, but lots of time I move it over so I can lay on the fleece.

Then on the other side of the big windows that go to the floor, I have this big pillow than mum made for me. So I have two beds by the big windows with different angles so I can see all directions to see the birdies and the squirrels.

Sometimes I sit right in front of the pillow, specially if I want to see what is outside. On this day I had doves outside, so I wanted closer. You can see another shot of me the other day looking at the doves.
Then my last bed is like my first one, just a simple cuddle ring, next to mum's bed. I don't use it often, since I usually just jump up on the bed and sleep with mum. But this past Sunday when mum woke up I was doing the meatloaf keeping my paws warm, waiting for her to get up and feed me. Then on Monday morning I was there again. Tuesday I didn't use it at all.

So many beds, I just rotate around, depending on my mood.

ManCat Monday

If animals could speak, the dog would be a blundering, outspoken, honest fellow -- but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much. - Philip Gilbert Hamerton

Yep, we cats have just the right touch. Never a word or action too much.
This was mum's breakfast plate yesterday. She had a slice of ham on toast and she left me a bit of the ham to nosh on. It was yummy.
Here  is me guarding mum at night when she tries to sleep. Some night she sleeps well, other nights not so much. So on days when she is tired, she doesn't do much, takes nap. When she feels up to it, she gets stuff done, reading, crow-shay and the few chores she can do here at home. Maybe even a short trip out of the house.

Yesterday mum caught me taking a hit of the nip carrot. I could use a new one, but I know that mum can't get to the store to get me one just now.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - they beat Da Bears. Mum was saying HBO words at times cuz they didn't play well. Even to the end they coulda losted it. It went down to the last second on the game clock, which actually took 19 seconds to actually end. So The Pack is in the playoffs.

Happy week everyon.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday! It is starting out slow here at Casa de Ducky. Cloudy out, a bit dark. Mum has been slow getting going but is now up, washed, brushed, peed and poop, and dressed! Guess she is good to go!

Mum finished the red and orinch blankie last night. She has been watching more sports this week so more time to work on it. So here it is, all good to go, so mum took the pic and put it in the closet.
Here is the yarn that is left, mum liked the pattern of the colors in the bundle of yarn. Purrty.
Yeah, me resting on my ham-mick and staying warm. This is one of my favorite spots in the house in the winter. Gotta soak up the warms. Mum footy and ankle, a little puffy at the end of the day but not bad. She scared herself overnight, she must have been dreaming and jerked her leg. Well with the extra weight of the boot it made the footy hurt for a bit. It sure woke her up. So I sat on her to make her feel better and she went back to sleep.

No rest of the crow-shay part. She pulled out the next color and started working on the next blankie. So what sport is she watching now? Bucket ball! She normally doesn't watch much but the local team is doing super well and winning lots of games in a row. If it works out and they don't lose for the next week they will set a new team record.
So I guess I better bug mum to make sure she gets some brekkie in her. Drink milk, eat yogurt, maybe some ham! Yeah and she can share that ham with me!

Happy weekend all.

Throw Back Thursday

Well, mum has sort of gotten back to routine this month. She went to the library program she likes on Tuesday. Peoples were there that hadn't seen her since she broked the ankle, so had to tell the story again and again and again!

Yesterday she was supposed to meet with her money man. Well he called early and said "Let's do lunch!" So he came and even picked her up, then they went to the hot new place in town. Money wise, things are good.

Our throw back takes us back 10 years with Derby.

New Arrival and Secret Paws

Me and mum have adoped a vSquillion the hollyday verion and she is named Flurries! Since we started the Squillion thing we figured it was about time we had a vSquillion too. If you want one go to the Offishul CB vSquillion Shelter and get yours!

Plus my Secret Paw box arrived. Filled with goodies for me and mum. Thanks Laila and Minchie
Come on mum, get over here and open this big box. You know I can't do this without thumbs!
Hmmm, stuff is all wrapped up too. Mum I still need your thumbs, I am not good with getting things untaped.
Greenies, one of my favorites, some toys and the new appetizers stinky goodness. Plus some chocolate for mum.

Plus Mum is making progress on getting my box out to my Secret Paw. We had all the stuff together and had the two boxes, not enough room for the stuff and for cushioning packaging.
So mum stopped at the station tonight and got a box and everything fits in it, so she can take in back to the station in the next day or so. Not later than Caturday, right mum? Right she said.

Happy weekend everyone.
