Happy New Year

I am all spiffed up to attend the party, black tie and all. Party responsiblty.
Mum is busy watching the Packer game. They have nothing but pride on the line, since they won't be making the playoffs. But we do want to beat Da Bears.

Plus the next county west of mine, the humane society is doing a fund raising calendar. We shared our pictures for our "Furiends Helping Furiends" calendar. But in this one the woofies and kitties share the pictures with their owners. But their owners aren't wearing clothes! 'Bare Because We Care'. The kitties and woofies are helping cover strategic parts in some cases. They are selling so well, they had to order more!

And Patches wanted to know why on some pictures I look like a darker ginger than others. Most probably if the pictures were taken with the flash or not. Mum has a camera that works purrty good without the actual flashy thing flashing during a picture. That is my only explanation.

Secret Paw Saturday

It arrived. Finally! Mum kept telling me to be patient, that maybe the package was coming from very far away. Like across the ocean from some furiend. But, no, it was a little more local, at least in the United States. From my lovely furiend Mini, of the House of (Mostly) Black Cats. they even have been posting about how slow their mum was about getting the packages out. I never guessed that one might be for me.

Mum spied the box outside on the porch by the mail box last night when she came home from working. So she brought it into me and I checked it all out.
Even a nice note from Mini, 'pologizing for her mum being slow. And to have me tell Princess Mia that she is NOT flirting with me. Mimi doesn't want to get pounced on by Mia. Not a problem, Mia and I are not the jeleous types.
So all of the stuff was carefully wrapped in PURPLE, bubble wrap and included both Pounce and Temp-tay-shun Treats (Tantelizing Turkey Flavor) and a little red mousie.
So thank you furry much Mini. I will enjoy and think of you when I play with my mousie or get some of these treats.

Otherwise, Saturday has been furry buzy. Well at least for mum. She has been fixing some of Grampie's pants with a hot thing and a special table that she set up. She locked me out of the room as she said she didn't want me to get hurt jumping on the table with the hot thingy.

The the big sucking machine came out and went all over the place for a very long time. Mum says the place hasn't been really cleaned well for a few weeks. She being busy with holiday stuff and all. I tried to stay out of the way as best I could. So I was watching lots of birdies at the feeders.

Plus mum putted some the the Christmas stuff away too. She tooked the decorations off the tree and the lights too. Says I have been putting the bitey to them and she didn't want me to get electrified.

But she founded as she was cleaning and putting things away that I have been putting the bitey on the tree skirt. She found some of the sequins loose and laying on the floor. She was not happy with me and gave me a scolding. So that is put away for now and she told Grampie that she will have to find some way to decorate the box holding the tree up. I have a better idea. Get rid of the box, then I can knock the tree down again. (hehehe)

Plus mum putted the Galileo thingy away in the box. She caught me playing with it a little to much and too hard. She wants to make sure I don't break this one too.

Guess that is it for now. Time for a nap.

Boxing Day

Well I didn't really end up with any boxes to play with today. The stuff that came in boxes was too small to play in. I managed to get a few goodies yesterday, treats and toys. A fevver butt green and gold mousies that are on a wand, Temptayshuns and Pounces treats. Plus a special dinner of stinky goodness, Fancy Feast Elegant Medley. Yummy stuff.
Mum getting me to play with my new mousies on a string. I am gonna pounce on those little fevver butt things good.
Hang on mum, I gotta scratch my ear. OK, now I am ready to pounce some more. Let's get going on playing.

So what did mum get? Well she replaced something I broked this past year. Her Galileo thermometer. Is she tempting fate with this? Maybe not. (Does this mean I gets my one life back?)
Because it is a hanging thing and won't sit on a shelf this time. Right now it is hanging where I can get to it, but mum says this won't be its permanent hanging spot. I also like the little wind chime that hangs there too. It makes purrty sounds when I bat at the little pieces of glass.
Hope that all of you hadded a good day with your beans. Playing, eating and just relaxing too. Mum didn't work today, so we hadded extra time together. Yay.

Oh, Come all Ye Furful

Oh, Come all ye furful,
Hungry and well rested.

Oh, come ye, oh come yet to
The master bedroom.

Come and behold them
Snoring loudly 'neath the sheets.
For now it's time to wake them,
For now it's time to wake them,
For now it's time to wake them,
On this Christmas morn.

Meow, choirs of felines,
Meow in expectations.

Meow till you get your
Mom
And Dad out of bed.
Glory to food in the cat dish.
Oh, come let us enjoy it,
Oh, come let us enjoy it,
Oh, come let us enjoy it,
Breakfast at last.

From Catmas Carols by Laurie Loughlin.

I am going to hang out under the tree skirt today and tonight. Maybe I can catch a glimpse of the big guy when he stops by.

Oh, Hold Me Right

Oh, hold me right,
Your grasp has got me keeling.
It's whine and squirm time
When you pick me up.

Long have I tried
To let you know my feelings,
That when you lift me,
My life you disrupt.

I'd rather trot
And go about my business
The grip you've got's
Not popular with me.

Put me down, please
I need to see the turkey

Oh, sight divine,
Even though I'm now airborne
Oh, sight divine!
Let me go!
This bird is mine.

From Catmas Carols by Lourie Loughlin.

Mum putted more things on the tree last night. Some kittie decorations, a little bear (Millie has one like this), even vishus deers. Lots of other things too, woofies, elyphants, ducks, bears, snowmen, bells, skates and such. The soft, fabric ones were made by mum's mum.

Wish List Wednesday

Lots of you are posting on what to wish for at this time. Well, I really don't need to wish for things for me. Mum has given me a good home, I am loved and well cared for. I have more toys than I can play with, as mum spoils me so. So my wishes are for others.

That homeless kitties find good and loving furever homes.

For our bean and furry furiends who are ill, get well.

For our bean furiends that need work, find good jobs.

That we have peace on earth.

Mum came home with a bunch of stuff in her bag that she carries her work 'puter. Stuff that she gotted from people she works with. The little bag, mum says, has candy in it. Her treats not mine. And the big thing wrapped in green crinkly paper (good for putting the bitey on), is wine all the way from Australia.
But the last thing had a little kittie on the outside. Ah, ha! Something for me!. But no, just a little kittie topper to a candle. Sort of looks like me. Mum says her boss gave it to her. All of the other people who have kitties gotted the same things.

It Came Upon A Midnight Cat

Another of our holiday songs, you can sing this one to the tune 'It Came Upon a Midnight Clear'. Enjoy.

It came upon a midnight cat

Whose fur was black and bold.
As he sat under the carport in
December though it was cold.
That he was the lord of his backyard.
The neighborhood cats agree,
For, when he hisses, they turn and leave
His yard immediately.

The Tree

I waited until mum came home last night and plugged the lights in the wall for the tree. Then I figured it was time to do my best to work on the tree. I like to rub against the tree, it gives me scritches, plus I was putting the bitey to the lights, mum wasn't happy about that. Mum had big fat books on the bottom to try to keep it straight, but I could still push it over.
But Grampie came over this morning and they worked on a boxy thing to put the tree up on and the base of the tree fits inside so it won't slide out. Plus they put big heavy bricks inside the box which won't let me push the tree over. Plus now that the tree is just a little bit higher, I can't easily get my scritches from it or put the bitely on the lights. Bummer mum, I like putting the bitey on the tree.
Then to hide the box thing, mum gotted this out of a box in the dungeon. Her mum made this many years ago. So now everything looks purrty and the ugly box is hidden.

William mentioned that he has a tree like this. Mum saw that last year and liked it. So when all the trees wented on sale last year after Christmas, mum wented and got this one. Actually it had two trees inside the box. But mum only puts up the one tree.

Fang Shui Friday

Plants in the northwest corner of the room create positive ch'i for the environment. This positive ch'i is maximized when the sagacious cat makes full use of the plant's energy by eating it.

Care should be taken not to eat too much of the plant. This can created excess energy. You must rid yourself of this excess.

The wise cat waits until the dark hours of the morning and the politely deposits the bad ch'i where others will be sure to notice it - for example in a bedroom slipper, or on a new cleaned Persian carpet.

Fang Shui by Catfucious, Peter Pauper Press, 2002.

Just a bit late in the day posting today's Fang Shui. I have been having far to much fun with the Christmas tree. hehehehehe.

Oh Christmas Tree

Mum gotted the tree up, a different on from last year. And now it has lights on it as well. But no decorations.
But mum caught me checking out the tree and today I knocked it over. Mum wasn't really happy about that, but nothing broked.

And remember all that snow we gotted on December 1. Well it is all gone. It has been furry warm here, in the 40's and 50's with some rain. The white stuff is gone. So mum was lucky to see the raccoons the other night. Their bodies stood out against the snow. If they are out there now, we can't see them, they just dissapear in the darkness.

So after we tried to switch to blogger beta, it said our blog was too big and the notice wented away. It came back tonight, mum says she is going to ignore it for a while. So far we can do what we want and are able to comment on all our our buddies blogs. So life is OK.

Night Visitors

Mum was just about to go to bed last night after the Purrayer Vigil. She looks out the windows to check things out around the house each night. Well last night she founded some furry interesting visitors in the back yard. Three, yes three visitors.
You can see one raccoon right in the middle of the picture. The suet feeder that was hanging over the area where he is at is now gone. So mum figures they gotted in the tree and knocked it down to eat the stuff. The other two visitors are harder to see. They are back by they fence and you can see their eyes glowing, to the left and just above the main raccoon.
Mum cropped the picture so you can see the glowing eyes, upper left hand corner. And thoses eyes belonged to another raccoon and a oppossum. You can click on the pictures to biggify.

Plus with our aborted attempt at moving to BetaBlogger, I sign in my blog as usual and can leave posts as Derby for the original Blogger blogs. But if I go to a BetaBlog, then I am there as 'sassycat'. So if you see 'sassycat', its me!

Wish Me Luck

Mum is going to push the button to switch us over to BetaBlogger tonight. So if I have disappeared you know where I wented.

Hope this works and see you on the other side.

Update:

HAHAHAHA. Mum tried to switch, then gotted an message that said we couldn't switch yet. Something about, our blog being too large. Well, then why do they keep leaving us messages. Guess we will just ignore them.

Wreck the Halls

Another of the Catmas Carols that I am sharing. This is dedicated to Max, Buddah and all other house holds with more than one kittie. Sing to the tune of 'Deck the Halls.'

Wreck the Halls with two cats running
Fa-la-la-la-la-la . . . . .la-la-la-la.

Fur goes flying, lamps get done in.
Fa-la-la-la-la-la . . . . .la-la-la-la.

Tumbling swiftly down the stairway,
Fa-la-la-la-la-la . . . . .la-la-la-la.

Woe to those who get in their way,
Fa-la-la-la-la-la . . . . .la-la-la-la.

Muffins for Mum

One of mum's furiends came over yesterday morning and then they lefted for a while. When they came home they had packages with them. Mum had some fluffy things inside the packages. One of them was muffins for her ears. Or wait, she calls them ear muffs. They are furry soft and purrty. Mum says they are made from Shadow Fox fur. You can see mum modelling them, and you can finally see what my mum looks like. She made me make the picture small.
Also this other long fluffy thing, mum says it is a sheepskin on a long pole. Mum says it is for cleaning way up high in the house. She wented around the room and gots lots of spidey webs and dust from places. And to clean it, you go outside and shake it off.

Plus, I helped mum recheck everything and we packed up the box for our Secret Paw. Them mum took it to the station and it is on its way. So be prepared my special furiend, it is on its way.

Plus mum was making peanut brittle last night and I figured I had to supervise, but I kept trying to lick the butter from the pan. But mum kept an eye on me and I only gotted one furry small lick.
It is a lovely sunny day here today. So I will be getting lots of naps in the sun and working on my fur tan.

More Whiskerconsin Blogging Cats

My nearby furiends from Kattonic have finally joined the Cat Blogosphere. Three kitties, Sadie, Zippy and Speedy. You might remember them, they were at the October kittie party. So drop in and welcome our furiends.

Glad you liked my toesies picture yesterday. Yes I have nice clean and white feets. I try furry hard to keep my appearance neat. William asked if I liked to have my footies massaged and the answer is NO. I don't like having me footies touched. Mum will gently run her fingers down my legs to my feets. But only for so long otherwise I put the bitey on her.

Mum has started to get stuff out and set it around the house. Lots of little snow people are sitting around the place. The two on the TV are fair game to shove off to the floor on a daily basis. What I can get at is this thingy. It is on the wall above my food spot.

But no tree yet. Mum says she hasn't had time yet for that. Spending far to much time working. But it will appear, just will take her some time.

Toesday

Yes, I can agree that it is toesday. You can see most of my toesy in this picture.

We gotted our Cat Blogosphere calendar today. I am in January and February. Mum says she is happpy that the ginger kitties gotted to be February's pictures, since her purrthday is in February.

Catmas Carols

Mum gotted a book called Catmas Carols by Laurie Loughlin. In has songs for us kitties to sing during the Christmas season. I will be sharing a few with you over the next few weeks. Practice up, maybe we can go carolling!

Awake in a Cat Bed
(to the tune of Away in a Manger)

Awake in a cat bed
She can't go to sleep.
She's thinking of cat toys
That she'd like to keep.
She's seen them in catalogs
And on TV.
And she's left her Christmas list
Pinned to the tree.

A catnip filled heart and
A long piece of string.
A large kittie condo
With everything.
Cat videotapes and
A brush for her fur.
She's hoping that Santa
Will bring these for her.

Sunday Night

The snow is still here and it is furry cold, when mum opens the door to the outside. I have been watching the birdies come and eat at the feeder. Which means I can lay on the heaty spot in the floor to stay warm.

Mum did my shopping for my Secret Paw today. Or at least some of the shopping. Will have to review with her that she gotted everything she was supposed to.

Plus we had company today. Miss Lynn who helped take care of me when mum was gone to Mexico came over to visit.
She has been wanting to learn how to cro-shay and mum said she would help her. So they worked on that for a while. But Miss Lynn also tooked time to play with me too.
Jack and some others had questioned if goldfish are really good ch'i with fang shui. I don't know, I don't have any here. I am just reporting what Catfucious said.

And Patches said the only mergency would be if we ran out of food. Mum is pretty good at that for both her and me. We won't starve if we can't leave the house for a few days. Mum would be more worried about getting out if she had to go out if anything would happen to Grampie. I guess the gold in goldfish is just color, I don't think they are a lot of money.

Guess that is about all that happened here this weekend. Hope the rest of you had a good weekend.

Fang Shui Friday

They also make a tasty snack for rejuvenating flagging energy levels.

Snow Day

Mum stayed home and worked from home. She said they had decided that already at work yesterday. So she gotted up later than usual for a work day. But when she heard it thunder, yes, thunder, then she gotted up. That is when the really heavy snow started. So she worked and I napped and watched it snow and watched the birdies in the snow.

Mum even wented out and brushed the snow off, then refilled all of the feeders as the snow was so deep on them. So you can see some of my birdie furiends filling up their tummies with good food. They will need it to stay warm. Mr. Cardinal is here along with some doves.
Then mum wented out to use the snow eating machine and take a few pictures as well. By the time she was done the sun was beginning to come out. That means it will be furry cold here tonight. You can see how much snow had built up on the birdie bath. Mum was guessing 8-10 inches from this storm.
This is the same tree I showed you yesterday, but with the new snow fall. Plus one of the neighbors came over with a big snow eating machine and moved the heavy snow from the end of the driveway. Mum says that is good and we could go out if there is an emergency, but we are planning to stay home and stay warm.
