ManCat Monday

Are cats lazy? Well, more power to them if they are. Which one of us has not entertained the dream of doing just as he likes, when and how he likes, and as much as he likes? - Fernand Mery

HAHAHA, mum calls this retirement. She does what she wants, when she wants.

So what did she want to do this weekend? You guessed, racy cars. This is there fun event of the year, it is the Cat Race! They don't actually race cats, just named after the cat legend of "Brian Redman's Cat, the Bloodshot Blur with Fur." They gets lots of foods, chick-hen on Caturday night. On Sunday mum got there and found out that one driver was paying for breakfast for all of the workers at the food stand. Whatever they wanted!
Here is the event pin, this year was the Super Hero Cat Race. Some people dressed up as Super Heros, mum didn't. Said it was too hot to wear a costume.

Even though I am a cat, I did not got along. I don't race and wouldn't like all the noise. I stayed home and napped.

Happy Caturday gang. Hope all is well with you. I have been working hard these past few days. And working hard at night too.

One night mum was up and prowling around in the dark. She should have been in bed, said it was in-somnia. I don't know what somnia is, but she wanted me to come purr her to sleep. So I did and I stayed in bed with her until the sun came up. So the next night I made sure she went to bed on time and stayed there. I purred her to sleep again. I think she is back on track for her sleeps now.

Yesterday a bunch of guys showed up to give some of our trees a cut. Mum says they look so much nicer now.

Here are a few pictures before the cuts.
Now here are the after pics. There were two guys, so one on each tree that needed trimming. One guy was up in the tree with the bucket from the truck, the other hoisted himself up with a rope and would move around cutting. He even saw me in the front window and said hello.

So, mum says the big outside stuff is done for now. She is happy, but she has to pay for it now!

Happy Weekend.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

A rainy Wednesday afternoon. Mum and Ducky were inside keeping dry. We got nearly 2 inches of rain over 3 hours. The weather guesser says it will be nice now, and dry for the next week. We haven't had more than 3 DAYS in a row of being dry since June 1. Will be nice to dry out.

Last week some guys came to fix our rain gutters. With the rain gutters we can report that they work. No drips, leaking or over flowing! We like that, mum too.
Plus they put on this screening so that the leaves can't get into the gutters. Now mum won't have to pay someone to come clean them out twice a year.
Our flowers, well the purple cone flowers are blooming in the back. Plus mum cleared out some plant that keeps wanting to grow inside our one lilac. Mum will need to cart the brush off soon.
That is all for this week. Love, Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

Tuesday This and That

Another day, mum is out eating with other peoples again. No wonder she doesn't have to go to the foods store so much. Let someone else cook for her.
Super nice outside for the past few days, so the windows are open and we are enjoying the fresh airs coming in. Mum thinks the pic below is old, but it shows up in  her newer pics. She thinks it is old as the grass isn't all green.
Mum went off Monday afternoon to hang out with these five weird looking guys. I have seen them, they are at the baseball games. They run around between innings and have a race. You can read more about them here
Plus mum got her picture with a couple of them as well. She looks purrty happy here!

ManCat Monday

Cats sleep fat and walk thin. - Rosalie Moore
Not quite sleeping here, does this make me look fat? I am not fat, mum says I a trim, good looking mancat.

Mum was home the rest of the weekend, as long as you don't count her going out to eat on both Caturday and Sunday evening. Caturday was sort of planned. Sunday was more of a spur of the moment.

Sunday was, come for dinner, help me get my computer hooked up. Her furiends who had a small fire in their house are now in an apartment until the house is fixed and ready to live in again in a few months. So mum got a nice dinner of roast beast and her furiends have a working puter, but the innerweb guys have to come and hook that part up.

Me and mum are looking forward to some less sticky air here for a few days. Mum says she can get outside work done.

HiYa, Happy Caturday from Ducky. Mum is getting off to a slow start today. That is OK. I had my early morning snuggles and left her to sleep in for a bit.

So why is she so tired? One guess, racy cars. Old racy cars in fact. She spent yesterday messing about with these guys and gals at the track.
She didn't take many pictures, bizzy pointing these peoples in the right direction. Plus people were showing up in the wrong group like this last guy. Mum says he wasn't too bright about things.

Mum had forgotten how noisy these cars were, even with earplugs she came home with an achy head and woke up with an achy head. After drugs and my purrs she is feeling better.
Plus some of her furiends brought out their beautifully restored Healey. They left early before it started to rain. No top on this metal monster!
Mum was only doing one day of this, she says three days is too much. Plus there is a another race next weekend. Sheesh lady, stay home with me will ya?!
Happy Weekend.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

Summer is in full swing, hots, rain, wind. Thankfully the flooding is going away for all those who were affected.
A wide shot of part of the day lilies in the front. They are going gang busters with blooming. Mum thinks she needs to go get some more.
The white cone flowers in the front, the are doing good too. Mum is pleased with this plant too.
Then we have the bee balm, and yes we see bees on the plant all the time. Do you see the bee on the flower below. Getting some nectar to eat.
That is all for this week. Take care. Love Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

Tuesday This and That

Mum has been off galavanting around with fureinds. Today she went where she could see all sorts of water. Not sure I would want to be there, but it looks nice.
Mum's view during lunch, this is the small marina near the lake. They were on  a covered porch, nice breezes and temps purrfect.
Lighthouse, there is someone living there and they are painting pictures on the lighthouse.

She had a nice time catching up with her furiend, plus she got a quick hug from her furiends hubby too. He came home for lunch, mum says he is a fire chief! Wow, that is an important job.

Me, I stayed home and napped.

ManCat Monday

Dogs... can be made to feel guilty about anything, including the sins of their owners. Cats refuse to take the blame for anything -- including their own sins. - Elizabeth Peters

Ya got that right. We cats are purrfect.
So did mum stay home and provide me with a nice lap to nap on all weekend? NO! She once again went off to play with racy cars. She says she had a nice time, it was a quiet safe event. Plus once she got home, she made a nice lap for me so I got some snuggle time.

Saturday, July 15, 2017

HiYa, Ducky here. The hots and rain have moved out. Much nicer temps which means mum opens up the windows. Lots of fresh airs.

Mum has been doing her chores, which has meant bringing out the sucking monster. She is in one end of the house, I am in the other end. Or perhaps down in the dungeon.
Mum was sitting in the chair and let her foot down and wondered what was that soft on her foot. It was ME!
So I jumped up to settle in on her lap and keep her company. Yeah, nice place to nap.
Happy weekend all.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

It has been wet here, lots of rain. We are safe but lots of places have had lots more rain, rivers are above flood stage, roads are closed. We are hoping that those near this are safe and be safe. Don't go driving into huge puddles on the roads!
We had some bunnie visitors the other day. They got up close to the house as they were looking for the extra seeds that the birds and sqwerls had tossed from the feeder.
Mum took pictures of the thistles growing. She knows she is going to have to work to get rid of them, but they do have purrty flowers and the birdies like them too.
This is a picture of our big trumpet vine which has started to bloom. Mum likes this as when she first moved here she noticed the little flitting movements. It was the hummer birds. Mum had never seen one before. So she knew then she had to get hummer feeders.

The only bad thing about the trumpet vine is t hat it is very invasive. Mum has to go through the garden cutting down the new plants that sprout all over the place. Some even in the grass that get mowed off.

That is all for now. Love, Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

ManCat Monday

No man ever dared to manifest his boredom so insolently as does a Siamese tomcat when he yawns in the face of his amorously importunate wife. - Aldous Huxley
I was just about to do a nice big yawn, but mum missed it. Not that I was bored, just settling in for a nice nap.

Mum has found my new secret napping spot. Dang, it was so nice when she didn't know where I was. One time she was looking for me, walked in the room, looked around, missed me and walked out. Next time in the room she spotted me!
Yeah, I heard the flashy box thing go off, she found me!
Just a nice little spot behind the bear and in front of the pillow. Mum likes to know where I am, specially when she leaves the house. I got a kiss then and she took off for where ever.
Happy Monday, have a good week everyone.

Saturday, July 8, 2017

HiYa, Ducky here. Happy Caturday. We have a nice sunny day and it isn't hot or humid, so the windows are open.

Back to normal here after a few stormy days. I was bizzy snoopervising from the front window. First they came to slop black goop on the driveway to reseal it. Then a guy came to treat our ash tree out front. We don't want to have our tree get Emerald Ash Borer, it would kill the tree.
Mum has been bizzy running around seeing about her green papers. Lots of meetings as she is changing her bank after 40+ years, the investments are better at the new bank, so that means our green papers works harder becoming more green papers. Gotta keep me in treats and toys!
Finally I gets her to sit down and relax, read her book. That is much better mum, just chill. Happy weekend everyone.
