Healing Purrs

I am still purring on mum, she sounds better but still a rocky throat, sneezy and blowing the nose. But she did go to earn her green papers. I tried to stop her by being cute and playing with her so she would stay home. Didn't work.

She has been heading to the sleepy spot early every night, so I just curl up with her and keep purring. But I heard her talking tonight, she will be staying home. See Derby, I can put my paws down and keep her home.

Happy Weekend everyone.

Oh, stop by on Caturday for Derby Day!

Blinks and Bonks

Most everyone knows that we kitties will bonk heads to show affection. But did you also know that we 'blink' to show affection? It is a subtle sign with both eyes half way closed. Do you do this to your beans?
Not sure if Ducky is blinking or just falling asleep here!

Mum came home early from work today and climbed right back into bed. Ducky jumped up to sit on her and purr. She sounds like she has lots of rocks in her voice, lots of sneezy's, blowing stuff out of her nose. She got up long enough to eat a bit and is ready to head back to the sleepy spot again.

Just so you know mum is furry safe when she plays in traffic. She just directs traffic and makes sure drivers have all of their safety stuff on before they are allowed out on the track to go fast. Then for race time they take the qualifying times and makes sure they get lined up correctly.

She does not drive a racy car. She says she doesn't have enough green papers to do that, really doeesn't have any desire to do so even if she had enough green papers. After all these years she says the best part is seeing her furiends that she has made over the many years.

ManCat Monday

When you come upon your cat, deep in meditation, staring throughfully at something that you can't see, just remember that your cat is, in fact, running the universe. - Bonni Elizabeth Hall

You got that right. Cat's rule!
Hey Derby? Where did the lady go all weekend?

Go back and look at Friday's post! She runs off on the weekends to what she calls playing in traffic. Lots of noise, standing around outside in all sorts of weather. Like this weekend, cold and rainy, she is crazy standing around outside in that. We can stay inside, warm and safe.

She can't do that! I miss having her around. I am going to put my paws down on this, she has to be around at night. I miss pouncing on her feets at night!

Good luck on that Ducky. You had over two months before she took off for the weekend. I was here a whole week before she did it to me. She is only gone overnight, and she always leaves enough crunchies out for us. First thing she does when she comes home is to clean out the litterboxes.

You did OK for the first weekend. We can just chill, nap when we want, wrassle all we want with nobody telling us we are playing too hard.

Still I miss her. I like to snuggle on the sleepy spot with her.

Just wait, some day she will take off for longer, then she will take us to the kittie spa! Maybe we will be lucky and get seperate rooms! Like being at the shelter again.

SHELTER! I don't want to go back there! I don't want a new home. I like it here Derby. NO, NO, NO!

Chill Ducky! She comes back for us, they won't give us away to any one else. She has always come back to get me and I am happy to come back home! She took pictures of us to show off to all of her furiends too, some who have kitties. Didn't you hear her say that everyone though you were cute and sweet.

Well, I still don't like it, but I guess I don't have much choice on this. Maybe I can get her to stay home more, just maybe!

Racy Stuff

Mum went through some of her pictures from the racy season last year, I figured I will share. Make her happy, she has been doing this for a furry long time. Over half of her life, and she got her pin recently showing she has been a member of the club for over 30 years now. The new season starts this weekend.Hmmm, the sheeps aren't happy about racing!
A big fire truck, unfortunately a driver got hurt furry bad and the outside paramedics had to come. It was a freak accident, a wild turkey flew up in front of a guy in an open cockpit car and it hit him in the head. He is in a rehab hospital now, purrs that he recovers more.
One hot car, the firebeans to the rescue with the extingushers.
A big truck got stuck and the machine had to pull it out. Normally mum and her furiends would have their cars parked here. The moved them so they didn't get hit.
Here are the ruts from them trying to get the truck out!

Now some video! Some various odds and ends of the weekend at the Milwaukee Mile. One day was cloudy, windy and cold. The other sunny, but cool.

Then one day mum went riding in the pace car. Enjoy the ride!

Hey, we need a kittie picture too!

Happy Weekend.

We've Been Framed!

Framed in a nice way! The lady mum had these but no pictures for them. She finally got pictures of the right size and here we are!

MoMo made the comment that Derby should squish me now, before I grow up and get bigger.

I am growed up! I am as big as I will get! I am nearly 2 and as the lady says, her mini-mancat. If I get bigger it will only be around the middle, but do lots of running to keep my lean machine in shape.

We got no treats tonight because Derby yak'd up the little bit of ham the lady gave him. I got some ham and string cheese, but no yaks!

ManCat Monday

Maybe in the future we should add one more question to those we ask of presidential candidates - we should ask them where they stand on cats. Better still we should demand to see the cats these candidates say they raised, just to make sure we are not having the fur pulled over our eyes - Gilbert Guide.
Nothing much would happen if you asked, when Cheysuli and I ran for the president and vice president in 2008, they acted like we didn't exist. They would just lie.

Mum was reading a book and found a furry good quote.

"Beware the earnest, articulate person who has nothing to say and will not stop saying it."

Mum says that would apply to all policital persons, but the first person she thought of when she read that was Sarah P.

But enough about people and on to me!
I had a good weekend, mum was home the whole weekend, she did lots and lots of laundry and hung most of it outside to dry. All of the stuff on her bed was outside and does it smell delish. Even mum thinks it smells delish.

Ducky and I had a bunch of wrasslin' matches over the weekend. I won! I had the squirt pinned down really good, them mum saw me and told me to get off of him. Sheesh, that is the whole point to squish him good.

Ducky is an odd duck too. He was eating mum's popcorn on Sunday, she had her little bowl of popcorn, he jumped up on the chair where she was sitting and took a piece. Then mum fed him a couple more pieces from her hand. He took those, but won't take a Greenie from her hand. Odd duck indeed. But we had some good other stuff to eat, bits of chick-hen, ham and fishy.

We had lots of sun but rather cool air, so mum kept the windows shut, there was even some bit of frosting on the houses on Sunday morning.

Hope all have good week, I gotta see if I can get Ducky good again this week. SQUISH!

Amazing Show

We haded the best little show last night. Just as the lady was getting into her sleeping spot this bright light flew by in the air. No noise like an airplane on fire, no booms with a crash? Want to know what is was done this?

A METEOR!

It was caught on video by one of the local tv webcams, it you click the word meteor above it should take you to the video. We didn't know what it was until this morning when the lady turned on the picture box. Immediately by the time mum knew it was the same thing. It just appeared out from behind that big building and went off screen. One of the people that the lady works with saw it too. He was outside and saw a lot more.

Super nice here again today. The lady came home and opened lots of windows for Derby and me. She took a few pictures outside too.
The four-sith-ia is done blooming and just green leaves now, with the hya-cinths still blooming.
The two-lips are opened up in front of the house as well. Lots of pretty colors to look at. Are cats color blind? No not really but red and orange are not colors we kitties see well, so these aren't as pretty to me and Derby as they are to you beans.

Derby was snoopervising the lady as she took pictures. See his mouth open, he was sassing the lady. Well, that is why he is the sassycat!
The lady says she is glad tomorrow is Friday, that means the weekend is here. So Happy Weekend.

Wordy Wednesday

Hey all Ducky here. Taking a quick break from THoE with Derby, he is being a bit of a pest and the lady has been telling him to behave.

Well as least the lady is home now and it is nice out so the windows are open. The lady has been too busy with meetings for the library. Come home and snuggle with me will ya?! She said she had to be there, important busyness to discuss.

Derby just yak'd up. Now the lady has to stop typing for me and go clean it up. I haven't yet yak'd up since I moved in here. I am a good kittie that way. We just got some Greenies, maybe she should just give me all the Greenies and Derby nothing! Although sometimes he just yak's his regular food up too.

Mini ManCat Monday

Cat's hearing apparatus is build to allow the human voice to easily go in one year and out the other - Stephen Baker

Hey all, Ducky here! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We spent a quiet weekend, mum did her chores on Caturday. Sunday Grampie came over, but he and the lady spent all their time outside. Derby and I had to snoopervise from inside, but they worked on giving the crabby apple tree a trim.

Here are the lady's two piles of tree trimmings, one from last month and then today's sutff too. The lady says the official tree picker upper guys will be here sometime next month, so these will be here for a while. That is OK with me, the chippermunk is hiding in the pile and I watch him from the windows.
Caturday mum put together her new arbor trellis, the old one mum took down as it broked into pieces. This one is sturdier so it shouldn't break.
Here are more of our flowers are blooming, tulips, hi-ya-ciths!
I temporarily got cornered in the box, but I got out before Derby got a paw on me.

Here is me playing with my new jellyfish. The lady attached it to the bunge with our play ball. It has elastic so it bounces nice, so the jellyfish goes up and down.

This came from Fat Eric and he said it came from a posh store in the Chelsea part of London. Posh? Does this mean Mrs Beck's shops here?

Farewell Magoo

One of our buddies who lives in the great white north has gone to The Bridge late yesterday. Farewell Magoo, we will meet again. His bean dad writes some really cool stories too. Home of Dolce's story chair.

In other weekend stuff, mum has been busy washing, shopping and doing more stuff outside. She put up a new arbor, got out the oriole and hummer feeders too. It's an early spring, she wants to be prepared if these guy show up early too.

Finally Friday

First of all we both want to wish our furiend Daisy a big get well. She has something funky going on with one of her eyes, but we hope it isn't serious. We loves you Daisy.

Locally things are strange, we woke up today to have white stuff on the ground. It got all cold here again, which means no open windows.
Our four-sith-ia in the snow, it mainly stuck to the grass and plants, not the street. So mum didn't have to worry about getting to work in the metal monster.
The poor daffy-dil's with a coating of white on them.
Looking out the back side of the house, you can see it isn't deep, it is just that we had wide open windows and really warm weather last Friday and now this.
Mum got the table all cleared off, boxes gone to recycle, other stuff put away and pictures all hung up.
She has these in the human litter box room. Hey why not make it a little bit pretty? Beans spend enough time in there.
Close up of the three, mum has had this one for a while that she got at a local art fair.
This one she got at a craft fair where Grampie lives. Someone else who lives there drew the picture and made the frame too. Mum said it was only a few green papers.
Mum bought this at a store and she has a big cold box magnet of this too, but the magnet doesn't have enough room to have all of the sayings.

Plus weekend time, yay! Mum says she will be around but has lots of stuff to do, but I think we will get a nap together at some point.

Happy Weekend.

Goodies

Hi Ducky here! When mum came home yesterday she saw a box sitting on top of the box where the guy in the long bloo shorts left it. Lots of goodies inside, including little packages for the lady, Derby and one for me too! Goodness, who sent us some stuff? Oh, the lady said these came from Fat Eric and his lady mum since we sent Eric a box full of Greenies.
Sweets for mum and treats for Derby and a toy for me.
Derby is checking out the stuff. Mum gave us both some of the treats that they sent along, chick-hen and tuna. But then mum put them away for now.
See that little cupcake looking thing on the right? That isn't something sweet she can eat, but it is for holding sweet stuff like sugar for mum's tea.

Here I am playing with the jellyfish toy.

Then we had some wrasslin.

ManCat Monday

Most of us rather like our cats to have a streak of wickedness. I should not feel quite easy in the company of any cat that walked about the house with a saintly expression - Beverly Nichols
Well then Ducky and I must be good for mum. Both of us have our little streaks of naughiness. I will take the occastional bitey at mum. They other night I jumped up on the bed, mum reached out to get me a pet. I hissed at her! Ducky doesn't seem to do stuff to mum, but he will pick a battle with me now and then.

Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend. On Friday Mum got all of her rugs cleaned and dried them outside and they smell delish! Plus she did some extra cleaning inside and pruned some bushes outside. It was still nice and warm on Friday.

Caturday is was cooler and rained some so our windows were not open very far. We all napped lots. Mum finished reading her book and will be off to the library later today.

Sunday Grampie came over for lunch. Mum grilled brat patties, no ham for us! But while mum was outside tending the cooking Grampie was eating his Easter eggs! Chocolate for an appetizer! After lunch they sat outside in the sort of sunny Sunday. It was warmish but windy. Ducky and I had nice long naps.

As you see we have "Gone Orange for April" to support the ASCPA. Gotta support them 'cuz they help us!

Hoppy Easter

ALL I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT LIFE
I LEARNED FROM THE EASTER BUNNY

Don't put all of your eggs in one basket

Walk softly and carry a big carrot

Everyone needs a friend who is all ears

There's no such thing as too much candy

All work and no play can make you a basket case

A cute little tail attracts a lot of attention

Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day

Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits

Some body parts should be floppy

Keep your paws off other people's jellybeans

Good things come in small sugarcoated packages

The grass is always greener in someone else's basket

An Easter bonnet can tame even the wildest hare

To show your true colors you have to come out of your shell

The best things in life are still sweet and gooey

Happy Easter from Derby, Ducky, The Lady Mum

(Happy) Good Friday

Hi everyone, Ducky here! We gotted a surprise this morning, the lady didn't get up and go working! She is spending the day, well most of the day with us! Yipee!

But she isn't sitting on her laurels (whats a laurel?), as the washy thing in the dungeon is working already. All of the rugs are gone from the floors as she is washing them. Now I can't burrow under them to play. The lady says they will smell all nice once they are back on the floors, she is drying them outside!

It has been super nice here, so lots and lots of windows open and open wide. Lots of pretty things to see outside. But to answer MoMo's question, no we don't get to go outside to see, smell or eat the plants. The lady is afraid we would run fast and get away, just maybe we would. I ran away from my first home and I can run fast.

But the lady brought this stuff out and set it in front of the big windows! Now our view isn't clear. She has been out there sitting and sometimes she has been cooking outside.
The four -syth-ia the other day.

The four -syth-ia this morning.
The catkins or pussy willows starting to un-fuzz and open into leaves.
The daffs opened up and all brightly colored.
Derby getting some morning rays through the windowAfter a long day of chasing, Derby and I zonked out on the couch. I got him good this morning, he was stretching and laying on his back and I jump him on his belly! HEHEHEHE. Then we had a good wrassle and lots of chases.
