HiYa, Ducky here. Welcome to a holiday weekend edition of Caturday. Mum gets an extra day to do her chores this weekend.
Chores, oh yes. Already today she has done the following:
ate some brekkie
gave us our brekkie
readed two newsy papers
made more hummingbird juice
refilled the hummer feeder
hung out a new fevver feeder
filled all of the fevver feeders
checked the grapes for getting ripe - nope, not even starting to turn purple
cleaned her litterbox
paid Mr Bill, actually two of them
filled away lots of papers in the filing cabinet
cleaned up Derby's yak spots on the carpet.
washed a few dishes
put the rest of the dishes in the dish washing monster
PHEW!
Plus last night she was the first purrson to order the new CB calendar. One of the first test batch to see how this goes. So soon we can check it out. Mum says we are both in it and on days special to us.
Me holding mum down for at least a few minutes of resting.
Derby day dreaming out of the window.
Now she is about ready to get out the rug sucking monster and then off to get some stuff from the garden store. She is trying to stay away from place where these two-wheeled noisy monster are roaming the area, doesn't want to get tangled up with them. Something about a motorcycle being 110.
Then over the next few days, the typical washy of clothes, getting foods and doing some cooking so she has foods to take to work. Plus she says she is not going day hunting on Monday and will stay home with us.

Garden Thursday
::MEOW::
Hello Virginger here. Not much to report this week. Mum has been bizzy and we have had the hots. So she is not doing much outside in the yard.
But the grapes are growing. They haven't started to turn purple yet. When they do, mum has to call her furiend who wants to make jelly from the grapes. Soon mum says.
So that it all.

Here and Gone!
It was a flying visit for our buddy Miles Meezer. Mum is so laid back with kitties that he got to do stuff he can't do at home.
The visit started with a thud, when the bloo shorts guy dropped Miles off, just after dawn on Monday. We had to get mum up and get him inside and out of the box. He got to stretch his legs and make a pit stop.
We had drinks and dinner, mum whipped up some really delish blue tuna gizzy's. They were purrfecto, strong enuf but not too strong.Plus she allowed us to use the fancy glasses! These were her mum's good glasses for fancy dinners, she figured it was a good time to break them out and use them for company. Just like her mum used to do.
Dinner was ham, with Miles we know we can't go wrong with ham. He was very appreciative of the good ham mum got. Plus mum made sure to make him some french toast before he left too.
Mum loves to cater to visitor requests, making sure they have foods they like and such. Then once mum left to day hunt we were free to do what we wanted. Yep, that included walking on the ceiling. Ducky just had to watch. But Miles brought along his velcro boots and I dug mine out of the dungeon. Gosh that was fun, but not as good with the triple flip dismount that I used to do.
Plus Miles got to visit the little plushie he sent me years ago. It was named after Trixie and Norton, some cats who came before him.
So all too soon Miles visit was over. Back in his box and on his way to Mew Mexico.
So we will be resting and napping lots today to get all rested up from the fun we had with Miles. Stop in again, bring Sammy, Billy and Nicky with you!

ManCat Monday
It is a very inconvenient habit of kittens (Alice had once made the remark) that, whatever you say to them they always purr. - Lewis Carroll
Yep, we purr, Ducky usually more than I do. However, the other night mum was working on the puter and I laid down next to here and started purring. Loudly. She thought it was Ducky until she really looked.
Yes, mum, still watching and waiting for our visitor.
We are all prepared, although a few other fureinds have dropped by to get some of our snacks! Not to worry, mum has a good supply.

Caturday
Beauty-us here, yesterday and today. The hots have gone away for a few days and mum has had the windows open for all of us.
Mum did some special shopping yesterday, we will be getting a visitor soon, so mum wanted to make sure we had some good stuff to serve our guest.
We will be sitting in the front window, looking for the man with the bloo shorts to leave us a box.
Have a wonderful weekend one and all.

Garden Thursday
::MEOW::
Hello and welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger. We have the hots, so things are growing slowly. Like the grass, but that makes mum happy as she doesn't have to use the grass eating monster quite so often.
So mum made the rounds with me on Wednesday evening. Below is a shot of the Chinese lantern plants, they are much bigger than they usually are most years.
Here is a close up of the little lanterns but they don't seem to have started changing colors yet. They will get orinch, which is our favorite color, we like orinch.
Some surprizes in the garden. Mum thought all of the Russian sage had died and she would need to get more plants for another year. Well at least a little bit of one has survived over the years.
Then the swerls or chip-the-monk picked up and planted sunflower seeds well away from the fevver feeder. So we have a couple of short sunflowers. Mum says to please ignore the weeds. She hates weeding and in spite of having a weed barrier down under the mulch, we still have weeds. Mainly thistles!
Here is a big view of the end of the garden. Mum thinned out those shrubs on the right this spring. Goodness have they gotten bigger and fuller this summer. Mum will need to thin them out again this fall.
So we are starting the list of things we will need to work on lots this fall once all the blooming and growing is done for the year.
Thanks for stopping by. Love, Virginger.

ManCat Monday
But cats to me are strange, so strange I cannot sleep is one is near - W. H. Davies
That is just too bad this guy can't sleep near a kitteh. Our mum loves it when we jump up on the sleepy spot to cuddle with her. Or we try to wake her up to get loves and pets. We push our heads into her hand.
We didn't do much this weekend. Mum deserted us like she normally does but this time not with racy cars but other cars.
Seems she was helping kids learn to survive on the street. Not living homeless style of survival but learning how to drive the family car better. Emergency braking, quick lane changes and stuff. She said she chased pythons, no wait, she said pylons when they would hit them. The she and others would go and put them back where they belong.
Mum said the kids had fun, and you could see the big smiles on their faces. The parents just had to watch.

Garden Thursday
::MEOW::
Hello and welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger. Mum hasn't been out in the garden much. Still fighting off those bugs of hers. She did sit outside a bit on Sunday afternoon, but just readed her book.
One thing we saw while she was sitting was this fevver. It is a cedar wax wing. Mum has seen them before, but never in our yard! They like fruits so it made sense they were in the crabby apple tree. But we haven't seen them afore in our tree. Mum even sees them at work in a tree.
Plant wise, stuff is about the same. Same flowers and all. Mum needs to get the grass eating monster out to trim the grass.
Hope you enjoyed our brief garden visit.
Love, Virginger.

Tuesday This and That
First we want to say farewell to Abby of Manx MNews. They adopted one of our foster Squillions so many years ago. Ashes it was. Abby ranned off to The Bridge on Monday. Farewell sweet lady.
Someone asked about mum's reading prize. Well, most winters and summers they do a reading program for teens and adults, each one has their own. You sign up and each week when you read a book, you tell them the name of the book and your name. They draw one name out of the readers for that week. Then one special purrson even gets a grand prize. Mum reads anyway, but it is nice to get something for it now and then.
They can read any book they want. Short, long, from the library or e-book. Whatever. Although mum has a tendency to read shorter books to make sure she get through at least one a week.
Cool out but mum has the windows open for us for fresh airs. Nice.

ManCat Monday
Joy in looking and comprehending is nature's most beautiful gift. - Albert Einstein
We had a nice weekend. Mum cleaned as best she could. She got the sticky off the kitchen floor, so no more "snnith, snnack, snnith, snnnack" as Savannah said last Monday.
She didn't get to the ceiling. She didn't get her new sponges from the store until Sunday and then it was all cloudy. Not enough light to really see what she was doing, so it will wait.
We didn't do much beside nap, it was a nice weekend to nap. Mum even napped too on Caturday and Sunday. But she did something strange. She woke herself up in the middle of the night, went outside and stared up at the stars!
She was outside looking for shooting stars and she did see some. We snoopervised from inside in the sleepy room window. After an hour she came inside and said she did see some shooting stars and made some wishes on them.
Ducky napping this weekend. It was cool so all curled up to be warms.
Derby inspecting mum's new mug that she won for reading a book a few weeks ago. Was a good day for a cup of tea.
Have a good week everyone.

Caturday
Happy Caturday one and all. Beauty-ous day here. Mum has the windows open and we are enjoying the gentle breezes. Watching fevvers and lots of people on bicycles go by on the path. Mum says there is a charity bike ride in the area this AM.
Ducky sitting on mum to give her some healing purrs this AM. Maybe we can help those icky bugs finally leave her body!
But mum can't just sit and rest. She has to clean again as we did our best to re-fur the house. Plus she has a few yak spots to clean up after Derby. Oh and we do have one shot of the aftermath of last Sunday's explosion.
The rug that sits in front of the big cold box. Mum will be washing it later.
Plus we said farewell to another good blogging furiend. China Cat. Have fun at The Bridge.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy.
Derby helping mum drink her vitamin C ration for the morning. Her icky cold sniffling is hanging on. Some day she will be all better and we hope soon.

Garden Thursday
::MEOW::
Hello and welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger. First, which has nothing directly to do with the garden, it is World Cat Day. Everyday is our day! Isn't it?
On to the garden with these neat little pods on plants outside of our kitchen window. They get these flowers on them and then......
The flowers turn into these little pods. Mum thinks they are called Chinese Lantern plants. But before they turn color the the fall, something comes and eats all the plants. But they show up every year. This year lots and lots of them.
Here are the seed pods that formed on the yucca plant. I guess we could see if we can get seeds and grow a new plant.
A bumblee bee visiting the ornamental thistle, getting good juices to eat.
The crabby apple tree with lots of little crabby apples on it. Mum says she thinks the tree has as much little apples on it as she has ever seen.
They don't get any bigger and they are about pea size. Mum just leaves them on the tree for the fevvers to eat.
That is all for this week. Hope you enjoyed the tour.
Love, Virginger

Love?
Do you love your beans? Do you show it? We found this on LOL Cats and we think it fits.
Derby shows numbers 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10
Ducky shows numbers 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9
So how do you show your love? Do you have other ones you do to show your love?

ManCat Monday
A cat has absolute emotional honesty: human beings, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not. - Ernest Hemingway
THis is us, Ducky getting some ice cream, Derby glomming himself to mum while she reads.
Mum didn't get her cleaning completely done. Cuz she had to stop and clean up a HUGE mess she made in the kitchen. Seems she put a bottle of what she thought was just flavored water in the freezer to make it all cold. Then went to use the grass cutting monster for an hour.
Then she came in to get her cold drink. When she went to take the top off the bottle, it got all fizzy and 'sploded on her! Pink water all over the place. On her, the floor, the big cold box, the counter and YES, the ceiling! Sorry no pictures, she quick got stuff to start cleaning the sticky mess up. However, in spite of washing the ceiling it still looks a bit pinkish in a few places. MOL. We just sat and watched her work.
She may need to re=clean the floor, feels a bit sticky and more work on the ceiling.
We hope your week goes better than the way mum's has started.

Caturday
Wonderful day here. Sunny, warm enough but not hot. The windows and doors are open for us for fresh airs and breezes.
Mum is going crazy trying to clean the house. De-fur it you will. She must know we will win in the fur contest, so why bother. Sit back, relax, enjoy!
We hope you all enjoy your weekend.
