Garden Thursday

BRRRRRRRRRR. Mum thankfully has us all tucked away. Last weekend it snowed here, mum was in the south for the wedding.
This is the mess in the back yard. Mum says she will be working on the yard today. Blow off the leaves, then mow the grass. She is hoping this will be the end of the outside work on the grass and such.
However the weather guesser says we may get snow late Friday into Caturday, so she better get this done as she may not have a chance to do it later!

Our last Garden Thursday for the year. See you in the spring. Love, Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

ManCat Monday

A house is not a home without a cat. - Beth Campbell

Mum went away for a few days. Seems the nephew purrson in the family was getting married. Mum feels it is important to show up for significant family events and weddings are those kind of events.

Mum went all out, bought a new dress, shoes and all that jazz. Plus paying to go fly there, rent a car, stay in a hotel etc.I think she cleaned up purrty good.
So a few other things. The happy couple at the rehearsal dinner.
Mum said the cake was good, it had razzberry filling and she loves razzberry.
Mum's grand nieces were the flower girls in their nice dresses and sparkly shoes.
Mum and her brofurs, plus her newer sister-in-law, who is from Beijing China! Mum says the last time they were all together was nearly eight years ago at Grampie's funeral.

I am happy to have mum home. She knows the drill, she gets inside and sits down so I can come and sit on her for a bit. Plus Miss Kellie came over to make sure I was OK, play with me and all that good stuff. She got her kittie fix by coming over to see me. Thanks Miss Kellie.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - they won! Mum got to check on the score as she walked through the airport and they were leading. She got home in time to see the last half.

Have a good week everyone.

HiYa, Ducky here. Happy Caturday. It got cold and there was white stuff coming out of the sky. Way too early for that as far as we are concerned.

Bizzy month for the CB. Look at all the badges for stuff. First, tomorrow is Veteran's Day, plus all sorts of other stuff.

So I hope you cellybrate at least one of these days.

Stay warm, happy weekend.

Garden Thursday

Getting colder here, we may even get some snow on Friday. Not much, but still that means that winter isn't very far away.
So to compare the trees over the past week. The top was taken on Sunday October 28, below was taken Wednesday November 7. So pretty much in the past 10 days the leaves are gone from this tree.

Same thing for this maple tree, it is bare of leaves.
Across the street, one of the trees still has leaves on it and is really just beginning to change color too. Below is our locust tree, it is getting much thinner in terms of leaves. The pic was taken yesterday.
You can see the leaves that have fallen from the trees, the top is in the front of the house, below is the patio in the back. Mum will need to get this all cleaned up, but with rain and then snow, mum will wait until next week to hopefully finish the cleanup.
One pretty thing, this is our burning bush in the front of the house. It doesn't get color until it gets sun and it gets way too much shade until the trees drop their leaves.

That is it for this weekend. Mum has tucked us into a safe and warm place for now. See you soon.

ManCat Monday

Cat's eyes seem a bridge to a world beyond the one we know. - Lynn Holly

So, sorta close up pics of me, above, and Derby below. Can you see our souls?
Mum took off on Caturday afternoon for a dinner with some of her racy furiends, it ended up being an adventure!

Got to her furiends house, then they drove to the dinner spot. On the way home they were in a lane that made them get off into a rest stop area. It was confusing, construction area and a rainy night. As they drove through the rest area one of the tires went POP with a loud noise. So they were in a safe place and mum very nicely called on her emergency car service card. They had to wait an hour to have a guy come and put on the spare on. But since it is one of those donut spares they couldn't drive as fast. So about 90 minutes of extra driving and the previous waiting time. So mum says she didn't get to bed early and really didn't get an extra hour of sleep. Mum said she went to bed at 1 AM! Then she didn't sleep well either. Got up early, so they had early brekkie and mum was home by 10 AM.

Sports Report

The Pack - Played on Sunday night against TomB and the boys named Pat. First half was ok, second half the Pats got the better of The Pack. Mum wasn't upset or yelling at the moving picture box, she sort of expected the game to go the way it did.

Caturday - Happy Blogoversary to Me!

It is our blogoversary today, in addition to being Caturday.

Derby started this adventure way back in 2005, which was 13 years ago. I wasn't even alive yet, I bet my kitty mom and dad had no idea that they would even create me!

So over the past years there have been over 2700 posts and over 37,000 comments! Derby, then the both of us, now me, sharing what is going on around here with mum. The good, the bad, the silly, the sad.
Mum's favorite pic of Derby, we do miss the big guy. He would be 15 now if he was alive. Sad that he left for The Bridge so soon.

So, we start another year of adventures. Glad you are here to read along.

Garden Thursday

Hello and welcome to the garden this week. It is now November, so not much at all going on growing wise. Mum has been slowly working  her way through the garden cutting down things and hauling the stuff off.
It was windy early in the week, plus a bit of rain. So lots of leaves came down. Mum got rid of them and pushed them out to the street.
You can sort of see the pile at the bottom of this picture, but it is bigger now. Mum didn't take a new picture after she finished yesterday afternoon.

We got through trick or treat yesterday, mum didn't even lock me in her room. I just stayed on my hammick and napped. Mum said we had about 30 kids, some pretty big kids!

Some day soon we will head inside for the winter, mum hasn't decided when to take us in.
