Cool Claws

The Crew blogged that a local store, Sentry Food Stores, would be selling a product called Cool Claws. A product for kitties the is like ice cream.
Mum found it in the store tonight and gave me a taste and I ate it right up. YUM.

My Collection

Last week I gotted my pressies from the Meezers. Included was a little bear. I had thought that I would name it Norton since he had wented to the Bridge. But now that Trixie as gone to the Bridge too, the little bear will be Trixie Norton.

Just to show you all of the little stuff animals I have collected. A few from mum and others from some of my blogging buddies.
Left to right: Monte, Tex, Eric, Ethan, Sam, Trixie-Norton and Nittany the Lion in front.

Rainy Days and Mondays

Talkin' to myself and feelin' old
Sometimes I'd like to quit
Nothing ever seems to fit
Hangin' around
Nothing to do but frown
Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down.

Words and Music by: Paul Williams & Roger Nichols

::Sigh:: Guess the weather in Whiskonsin matches my mood today, the sky has been crying most of the day. I have just been kinda down. Just wanted to stay in mum's bed and nap.
We learned early today that Trixie wented to the Rainbow Bridge. She was a fine senior, ginger catizen. Loved by her family and her furiends in the blogoshpere. She will be missed. She wasn't a member of The Gorgeous Gingers, maybe she should be our firsted posthumous member.

Trixie (1988-2006)

Plus no word yet on Luna. Poor little thing was probably so scared and the VET was not watching. She got out of the VET building and hasn't been seen since. I hope she is OK and comes back to her beans who miss her furry much. But if for some reason she is gone, maybe Trixie can guide her from the Bridge. Such a purrty young kittie to have been lost so young. Some candles to guide you on your journey.

Thank You Meezers

Recently I was the 10,000th visitor too The Meezers blog, tying with my buddy Kizmet. The Meezers were so kind to send out goodies to both of us.

The card said I was getting a "surf and turf" dinner, so lobster and filet mignon Sheba cat food, a bag of Tempations treats, a couple of toys, extra catnip and a new little guy for my stuff animal collection. My first choice to play with was the Cosmic Catnip bag. I reached up on the couch and pulled it onto the floor.
Then I rassled it around and licked it up good. But after a few minutes I had had enough. Mum watched me and I didn't get crazy from the nip. My eyes didn't get big and I didn't have to "nap off the 'nip".

My blog counter is just under 7000, but we didn't start the counter when we first started the blog. So probably more visitors than it says, but I don't know exactly how many!

Purrs and thank you to the Meezers, Sammy, Miles and Trixie too.

Book Tag and Google

The Meezer's and others have been doing a game/tag. Join in if you want.

What's on page 123?
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123
3. Find the fifth sentence
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that cool or intellectual book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag whomever you want, or not.

Well, the closest book is one mum gotted from the library called The Google Story by David Vise and Mark Malseed. It's due back at the library on Monday and she has half the book to read yet. Mum sure reads funny books for fun.

"There was one thing in particular about the California based Jeeves that really caught his attention before he signed on as a top executive: whereas the book publisher he worked for, IDG, had $200 million in sales and a stock market value of $250 million in the late 1990's, Ask Jeeves had gone public with just $10 million in sales and $80 million in losses, yet had a stock market value of $5 billion by December 1999. "After a while," Berkowitz recalled, "I wanted to get into the Internet." Ask Jeeves had a history, to be sure, and while Berkowitz's focus was more on the future than the past, he first set about understanding how a firm once worth billions of dollars could have stumbled, what sort of talent it had on board, and most important, how it was percieved by users."

So do you Google? Have you Googled yourself? Think about it.

If I just enter Derby, I mainly see things about towns named Derby. Maybe the Kentucky Derby. If I add Derby Cat then I found an interesting site of Royal Doulton of a purrty cat.

But enter Derby and sassy and you get my blog at the top of the lists. Sassy and Cat will find me too, but not quite at the top of the list.

I Googled mum and found her, plus we even gotted her nephew too! It's not a common last name and their firsted name start with the same letter.

So sometime, see where you come up on a search. Check out your beans too!

Raided

Something came and raided mum's sunflower seeds overnight. Mum thinks it was probably Mr. Raccoon.

So mum hadded to clean up the seed that had spilled. But Mr. Raccoon didn't eat that much. More than enough left for the birdies.

Lots of Visitors

Yesterday was a furry lazy day for both mum and me. Once she was done with her breakfast she wented outside and swept up the spilled birdie food and refilled the feeder. Then she came in and got her book and a drinkie. She sat and read for a while.
Then she came in and put me in my portable porch! So I got to sit outside with her. That was so nice. Plus we hadded lots of visitors yesterday to the yard.
Mr. Squirrel
Baby Bunny
Mr. Cardinal, plus lots of other birdies.
Mr. Chip Monk

We did most of this today again too. Since it has gotten nice again, we can spend time outside. Mum had a bit more house work to do, food shopping, laundry and vacuuming. But we still had time to sit outside. Plus mum cooked outside and I gotted to have some of the grilled chicken.

After yesterdays post people asked about the top of the big cold box. The only thing up there is me and some dust. Mum does not keep stuff up there. Yes, I have to jump to the counter and then up on top.See my post here on my jumping up route. Mum doesn't mind me up there, that is where she prefers me to be when she is cooking or eating. Sanjee I think it would be furry hard for a kittie to knock over the big cold box.

Also a big reminder in TWO months, that means October20-22 is the party I am hosting. Put it on your calendars, you don't want to miss it.

Plus lots of purrayers for The Calico Girls mom Toni. She will need surgery next month. We will need to get the good kittie healing vibes going again. We did it for Edselsmom, we can do it again.

Overall mum and me had a nice quiet weekend. We don't get many of those.

Just Watching

Just keeping track of mum as she made her breakfast. Now, don't forgets me. I think we are going to have a nice quiet weekend. Oh, the new batch of crunchies are in my bowl. Time for breakfast. Bye.

All Things Thursday

It has been an interesting day. Mum worked from home today. So I had to hit her up several times for my scritches and treats. Mum stayed home as some men in a truck came and took the old couch away. She wanted to make sure they only took what they were supposed to.

Last night mum gotted home furry late. She was opening the windows in the house when we heard this really strange noise/scream/whimper from the back yard. It spooked me and I was running around the house. Mum and several of the neighbors went out and found a raccoon up in a tree, but they haven't figured out why it was making such a noise.

My little stuffed raccoon that mum brought home from Mexico, I decided to name him Monte, short for Monterrey. That is where he came from. Thanks for the other name suggestions.

I am having fun with my new toys that I got with my Secret Paws. So far I really do like the red octopie. Mum keeps moving to places and then she sees how far I move it. Plus the red thing with feathers, she moves that for me so I get hunting and pouncing practice.

Otherwise a nice quiet day. I like mum working from home, we can just hang out together.

Mr. Bee

Mum heard some buzzing and saw me pawing at the screen of the big window that goes to the floor. So she walked over and found that a bee had gotten on the inside of the screen.
She was very brave and managed to get him on the outside of the screen without letting me out of the house! But then the silly bee, instead of flying away just sat and flew between the big hard window things. The outside was just a few inches away, but it took him an hour to find it's way out. Silly bee, I know how to get outside, just that mum won't let me get there.

Secret Paw Box!

I noticed this afternoon when the postal guy came by that he made more noise than usual. When mum gotted home she found a box outside that was for me. It has Secret Paws written on the outside. It was here and it was from Smeagol & Strider (Mystery & Gizmo too!)
So mum gotted the box inside and opened it up for me. Now as part of my profile I said I like the color red. Well they came through with lots of red, including the little bag that had all the goodies.
Lots of fun stuff including a red octopi, better make sure that Tipper of The Crew doesn't get this! That was the firsted thing I wanted to play with. Plus an addition to my stuffed animal collection. A Nittany Lion, the mascot of Penn State.
So many thanks for all the goodies, time to go bug mum to play with me before she goes to bed.

Fur-ni-ture

Boy, things have sure changed around the house. The door bell ranged later yesterday and I wented to the door. But mum picked me up and put me in the back room. I heard her talking to a bunch of people and heard things getting moved around.

When mum letted me out of the back room, my old couch was outside on the patio and a new smaller couch was sitting inside in the same spot as the old couch. So I checked it out, it seems nice enough, about the height of the old one, so I have the same view. Since it is shorter than the old one, mum can reach over to give me scritches. Or I can put the move on her for treats.

Then mum wented out and broughted home two boxes and put together the little tables by the ends of the couch. Places to hold treat jars and such. Plus I can jump from the one closest by the window on to my window perch.

B
ut then she putted one of the old blue throws on top to help keep it clean. So you can't see the normal color. But it is a purrty nice snuggle spot. When mum gotted up today I was parked up on top waiting for her to get me my breakfast. Mum says it feels better to sit on that the old one too. I guess we will keep it. Gotta go Grampie is at the door. BYE

Bastet

Mum wented to a special place yesterday, a museum in a field, to see stuff about kings, queens and goddesses of Egypt. One of the special goddesses is Bastet. Mum says a tag says that Bastet was the goddess of joy and protector of women. Hmmm. Guess I have to protect mum but she broughted home a little bastet that was made in Egypt. Never hurts to have backup.
But there was also an evil kittie goddess too called Sekhmet or at least she was considered to be a goddess of vengence. They had a big stone carving of Sekhmet that she could take a picture of. This wasn't part of the really special exhibit.
Plus while she was there she saw a whole lot of stuff about a guy call Tut, King Tut.

Tag, I'm It

I was tagged by Diva Kitty & the Fluffies.

Here's the rules:The player of this game starts with "5 weird things/habits about yourself ". In the end you need to choose 5 people to be tagged and list their names. The people who get tagged need to write a blog about their 5 weird things/habits, as well as state this rule clearly, then tag 5 more victims. Don't forget to leave your victim a comment that says "you're tagged!" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

So 5 weird things or habits about me. Hmmm.

1. I am a furry friendly kitty. I will run to answer the door when the doorbell rings.

2. I don't mind thunder boomies or fireworks.

3. I am de-clawed on all four paws

4. I am not a good purr kitty. I purr now and then but not lots.

5. I am not a lap cat.

Mum's Bears

Here are some shots of mum's bears. These are all in addition to the new one she broughted home from Mexico.

As you can see I will have to collect lots more to catch up to her. In the first shot you can't even see all of the little guys. Some of these are store bought and some hand made. Plus a few non-bear stuffed critters too.

Enough already!!!

Whisker Humps

One of our newer blogging contacts is Kismet at The Blog of a Big Man Cat. He commented that I had big whisker humps.
Well it isn't that they are big and bumpy, but more that they stand out against the lighter fur of my muzzle.

And Kismet hangs his legs out in front of him. Good way to try to keep cool on a hot day.
Oh and his bean is from Whiskonsin, so that is good.

It has finally gotten nice enough to have the windows open again. So I have been watching and listening to all the stuff outside the house. Birdies, buns, squirrels, crickets and such. We had a nice rain this morning with a little bit of thunder boomies and lightning.
Virginger was enjoying the rain. She showed off the grapes getting bigger on the vine. Soon they can be eaten.Plus a purrty flower, mum calls it a Stargazer Lilly. A little something for my Princess.
