Mum's Fat Book

Here is mum's fat book she is reading. It is a true story about a Mr Buffay, no mum says Buff -ett, not something we can eats.
This is how much she has left to read as of tonight, about 250 pages and it has to go back to the library no later than Monday. She already extended the due date the one time she is allowed. Mum prefers to read real stuff, non-fiction she calls it. Doesn't read much fiction, the stories to her are mostly boring. She read the first couple of chapters, if it doesn't grab her, she doesn't bother to finish.

Then mum says no more books, skinny or fat, she has to work on the baby blankie for the nephew's coming blurpy. Mum hasn't worked on it all this month, so she says she needs to 'get cracking'.

Happy New Year to all my buddies and their beans too.

ManCat Monday

There are few things in life more heartwarming that to be welcomed by a cat - Tay Hohoff
Me welcoming mum home, telling her to hurry up and come give me belleh rubs! Hope every one had a nice Christmouse weekend. No day hunting and all. For those who where in snowy areas I hope you got shoveled out.

Mum and I didn't do much, she worked on her big fat book, we watched some birdies, cleaned stuff and of course watched feetsball.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - Won and with the NY Giants losing have secured a wild card playoff spot. Yipee.

Brett and Them Vikings - Play Da Bears on Monday night, in the cold in Shy-town

The Colts - They losted to them Jets people so the unbeaten season is gone. The game wasn't on the moving picture box here, but the talking people said they didn't play the regular guys all game. Peyton was on the sidelines, but is still healthy and they have the top seed in the playoffs.

Boxing Day

Hope everyone had a good Christmouse. I claimed the box that one of Grampies prezzies came in, he thought it was funny I was just sitting on top of the box. Mum said if I could I would have been in the box. But then Grampie's new shirt would have had cat fur on it!
So then mum mput that box away, but I still have a few to choose on the table. This one is nice and it was from my Secret Paws Laila and Minchie.
So I got a few cool things, first a new red dot toy, the old one wasn't working well. Mum showed it off to Grampie and I did my best to catch the red dot. He couldn't believe how I chased it around.
Then I got a bunch of new mousies, a whole big package of 12! But mum only took two out of the package for now. But they are both fevver butt and leather butt mousies!
Here they are up close, the black ones have fevvers and the grey ones have leather. I was on my last fevver butt mousie, so I am happy I gots more.
We had a wet and white Christmouse here. The ground was white but it mostly rained from the 24th and 25th. Only started to get white stuff again late on the 25th and today more white stuff.

Mum did venture out today for the sales but only bought some lights to put on the patio. Now she can see when she has to do birdie food when it is dark outside. Otherwise she has been reading lots as she has a very fat book to finish, I have been napping lots.

Merry Christmas

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, (because he was of the house and lineage of David,) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. Luke 2: 1-20 (KJV)

Angel on the Tree

A Christmas Story for people having a bad day:

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure. Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

My Bed Update

Mum caught me! She took the flashy box to bed with her the other night and caught me in the snuggle ring by the bed.
OK, mum you got your picture, now turn off the flashy box and lets get some sleeps. Not many more sleeps until Santy Paws get here for Christmouse.

ManCat Monday

In his castle He is King And I his vassal - Mildred R Howland

Yep, mum is my slave, or vassal as this lady put it. Ready to respond to my every whim. Treats for me please!

Just a few more days until Christmouse. Mum got the tree up from the dungeon over the weekend and put the lights and decorations on it. Mum also made up the last couple of batches of peanut brittle, that will be taken to work for them beans to eat. Here I am checking out our little tree. Mum put a few ornyments on it today. So we is all set except for the prezzies that go under the tree. Mum says they won't show up until Christmouse morning.

Hope all my kittie furiends out east are doing OK in all of that snow. Whiskerconsin is ready for that kind of stuff with big machines to move it out of the way. Be safe, take it easy moving the snow, no heart attacking your beans with shoveling and all. Some day it will melt, just don't know when. This means you guys should all have white Christmouse.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - They lost in the last seconds to the Steeler Guys. Mum says the defense didn't do their job in the last minute of the game.

Brett and them Vikings - Playing the Panthers on Sunday Night Feetsball, them Panther kitties are winning at the end of the third quarter. Mum will be turning off the puter and moving picture box to go to bed before the game is over. Go Panthers!

The Colts - they play back on Thursday night and won. Still unbeaten and now the only unbeaten team in pro-feetsball.

Also a shout out to the UW-Whitewater feetsball team, they won the division three college championship on Caturday. They played in Furr-ginia, and they had to delay the game by 5 hours to give time for the big snow storm to pass and get the field ready to play.

My Beds

I sleep where ever I want. Mum's bed, the couch, the guest bed, but I do have my own spots that I don't have to share.
Here is my firsted and original bed. It was the only one I had when I first got here. It is in the front room where mum hangs out the most when she is home. We can see the moving picture box from here, or listen to the music.
Yes it is a tight fit, but I like it. I can be all snuggled in in just fine.
Then I have this great big pod that mum won a couple of years ago. At first she had it in the front room, practically next to my firsted bed. Then she moved it back by the big windows that go to the floor. I love the fleecey to lay on, you can see my Gizzy, but lots of time I move it over so I can lay on the fleece.

Then on the other side of the big windows that go to the floor, I have this big pillow than mum made for me. So I have two beds by the big windows with different angles so I can see all directions to see the birdies and the squirrels.

Sometimes I sit right in front of the pillow, specially if I want to see what is outside. On this day I had doves outside, so I wanted closer. You can see another shot of me the other day looking at the doves.
Then my last bed is like my first one, just a simple cuddle ring, next to mum's bed. I don't use it often, since I usually just jump up on the bed and sleep with mum. But this past Sunday when mum woke up I was doing the meatloaf keeping my paws warm, waiting for her to get up and feed me. Then on Monday morning I was there again. Tuesday I didn't use it at all.

So many beds, I just rotate around, depending on my mood.

On The Hunt Week

So close, yet so far. Mum caught me staring at the dovies just outside my big windows that go to the floor. There were five in total, I didn't get a one.

ManCat Monday

Cats always seem so wise, When Staring with their half-closed eyes.
Can they be thinking, 'I'll be nice, And maybe she will feed me twice'? - Bette Midler
Hope every one had a good weekend. Mum didn't go day hunting on Friday. She got up late but then got dressed to go out. Then the door bell rang and a couple of her furiends, Miss Jane and Miss Lynn, showed up and they took off in mum's metal monster. They went to a Chirstmouse thingy and did some shopping. Mum didn't get much, some Mauthe Lake Mud Fudge, and a soup mix thing. Nothing for me.
Caturday and Sunday we just hung out, I mooched treats, she finished Christmouse cards. I helped by keeping her legs all warm!

These guys came out of the dungeon over the weekend too. When we have white stuff outside the the snow guys come out of hiding in the dungeon.

Since we have lots of snow the fevvers have been stopping by feeders lots, so lots for me to watch out the back windows. Plus the silly squirrels come around to eat the spilled seed, then they chase each other all around the place.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - They beat Da Bears! Twice in one season! They may also make the playoffs!

Brett and them Vikings - Beat Mr Hendrix's Bengals

The Colts - They won again, still unbeaten.

New Arrival and Secret Paws

Me and mum have adoped a vSquillion the hollyday verion and she is named Flurries! Since we started the Squillion thing we figured it was about time we had a vSquillion too. If you want one go to the Offishul CB vSquillion Shelter and get yours!

Plus my Secret Paw box arrived. Filled with goodies for me and mum. Thanks Laila and Minchie
Come on mum, get over here and open this big box. You know I can't do this without thumbs!
Hmmm, stuff is all wrapped up too. Mum I still need your thumbs, I am not good with getting things untaped.
Greenies, one of my favorites, some toys and the new appetizers stinky goodness. Plus some chocolate for mum.

Plus Mum is making progress on getting my box out to my Secret Paw. We had all the stuff together and had the two boxes, not enough room for the stuff and for cushioning packaging.
So mum stopped at the station tonight and got a box and everything fits in it, so she can take in back to the station in the next day or so. Not later than Caturday, right mum? Right she said.

Happy weekend everyone.

Snow Update

Monday AM
Tuesday AM

Wednesday AM!

The last two picture are the before and after mum shoveled. Mum says about 8 inches, heavy, wet stuff. Hard to snowblow and shovel. But the snow eater worked and the neighbor help with his big snow eater at the end of the driveway.

Mum's office is closed but she has to log in from home, but she had the extra time to clear the patio and refill the bird feeders. Plus we saw Mr Hawk hanging out on our fence. Mum had just gone outside the back to work on the snow, he was sitting on the fence.
Stay safe, I will be cuddling with mum today!

Snow

Monday AM
Tuesday AM

?
Wednesday AM

Yep, mother nature is giving us our biggest whap of snow tonight. Mum will call in and see if they close their office tomorrow, she is hoping yes. Then she can do a little work from home but still go outside and use the snow eating monster. We will get a picture in the morning.

Mum came home late the past two nights after day hunting and not because of the snow. Monday night she stopped by Grampie and gave him his Christmouse letters after she printed them out a work. Tonight she went food hunting for Grampie so he won't have to go out with the senior bus on Wednesday AM. She didn't want him to have to go out in the snow.
Here is me is with mum's ear muffs. They are all soft, mum says they are foxy fur, so real fur to keep warm. Yep, we kitties know how our furs keep us warm!

For all the other kitties in the snow area, you and your beans stay safe.

Udated Feetsball report.

The Pack - they won, beating them Raven birds. Mum says it was a sloppy game, lot and lots of penalties. They play Da Bears next Sunday.

Brett and them Vikings - hehehe, them Cardinal birdies beat them, yay.

Who would believe such pleasure from a wee ball o' fur. - Old Irish Saying

OK, winter has decided to show up, finally. Mum will have to get the snow eating monster out to clear the driveway today and they are talking more for later in the week. Will have pictures when mum gets them.

Mum spent a lot of time in the kitchen put I didn't get much foods. No hams, chick-hen, turkey or anything else, not even a lick of the butter. She kept doing more and more loads of this. Don't worry she doesn't eat all of this, she goes and gives it all away.
Mum worked some on the Christmouse cards, but then the printy thing started smudging on the paper, mum couldn't get it cleared off. So the letters for her and Grampie she will print them out at work.

We got all of the stuff we want to send out for my Secret Paw, but we don't have a box big enough to hold it all! So mum has to find one so we can send that out. So that isn't quite done, but getting close.

The other day I said mum would have to get her ear muffins out. They is not something you eat, it is something she wears! Big white fluffly, furry and warm she says.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - does not play until Monday night against some birdies called Ravens

Brett and them Vikings - playing on Sunday night in the early 4th quarter, them red birds are winning. Woohoo! Go Cards! Mum is going to head off to the sleepy spot before the game is over.

The Colts - they won, still unbeaten and mum got to watch the game on the moving picture box.

Caturday Flurries

Hey everyone, happy Caturday. Mum and I have finally seen snowflakes in the past few days but nothing has really stuck or covered the grass. The weatherguesser says that may change in a few days. Here is the other morning, just enough to show up and make it a little white in places. It all went away that day. Today we get a few snowflakes, then sun. Mum says it is now furry cold outside and she needs to find her ear muffins to wear to keep her ears warm.
Mum and Grampie wented to a Christmouse concert last night at Concordia University Wisconsin. All the student musical groups do their thing, and they were just five rows back from the bell ringers. Mum says it is fun to watch them and how they make all the different ringings sounds depending on how the bell is rung, struck or otherwise handled! Plus big things that look like tuning forks!
We got our firsted Christmouse card too. From mum's furiends who are smart enough to include me in their good wishes!
So mum is busy today, starting her cards, getting the mailing labels together for both her and Grampie and doing his Christmouse letter. Oh, and doing peanut brittle batches in between.
Me I will just find some of the sunshine and soak it up.

Multi Tasking and Talented Cats

I know we kitties have many hidden talents and interests but a few of this I wouldn't have expected.
I see Max's family is making food, or maybe this is the place they eat at all the time, so they named it after them! Max does love it when they bring chick-hen home for him from a guy named Denny, must be the cook here.

Then right by where the you can eat at Max's, you can go next door and look for old stuff with Roscoe. Now supposedly he went off the The Bridge a while back. I think he has taken up making green papers for himself!
Mum is happy tonight, for the first time in 7 years there isn't a snowstorm on December 1. Matter of fact it was over 50 degrees here today and no significant snow in the near future. Mum and I haven't even seen one snowflake yet at this end of the year.

Mum say she also has to start on her Christmouse stuff, mailing labels for her and Grampie, the letters and all. Don't forget my furiends on this too mum! Plus we gotta get our Secret Paw finished. Mum has everything, just need to get it packed up and taken to the station so they can deliver it.

ManCat Monday

If there is a spot of sunshine spilling onto the floor, a cat will find it and soak it up. - J. A. McIntosh

Hope everyone had a good weekend. You can see me soaking up the morning sunshine from Caturday. Mine weekend was busy since mum was around for extra days, which meant extra attention for me!

Thanksgiving Day - mum went and got Grampie, they had a little bit to eat while they watched the Packers beat them Lion guys. Then they went to where Grampie lives to eat turkey. I got salmon and chick-hen stinky goodness for lunch.

Friday - Mum took off, said she needed to get new tires for the metal monster. Enjoyed a lovely sunny day otherwise. Mooched extra treats when mum was around.

Caturday - I managed to get out to the backyard in the afternoon. Mum went out to fix the birdie feeders, she didn't realize I was just inside the door, so when she opened it I zoomed out like I did last month. It was a nice day so mum let me wander around again for a bit. I also managed to scare a bunnie who was hiding by the back of the house. It got furry scared and left so fast I didn't get to say 'hi' at all. I wonder if it was a cousin of Fi and Lando?

Later mum took pictures of me from the inside of what happens if she leaves that door open a bit.
I push open the door and just get inside.
Hmmmm, can I reach the door latch?
Nope, I can't get up high enough to get the latch. Darn, that would be a big surprise if I could let myself out.
I can't see out of here either.
So mum closed the door, I keep hoping it would open up again. Mum, don't you have to go outside again for something? Anything?
I will sit by the door a bit, maybe just take a nap in front of the door.
Sunday - mum left me alone during the afternoon, no watching feetsball with me. Said she had to go visit with some beans who were over to visit with Grampie. Said it was her cousin who is here from Illinoisy.

Noms - ham, grass, salmon & chickhen stinky goodness, turkey, yogurt.

Feetsball Report

The Pack - won on Thanksgiving, they have won three games in a row now. Don't play until next Monday night.

Brett and them Vikings - They beat Da Bears.

The Colts - Managed to come back and win! Still unbeaten.

It is the last day of November, where is the year going?
