Mini-ManCat Monday - Happy Halloweenie!

Cats never strike a post that isn't photogenic.

Yup, we cats always look good. Maybe that is why our humans want to use the flashy box on us all the time!

This one I am missing one of my ears! The below one is much better! I am feeling fine after my ickies. Mum is done giving me pills and such. She thinks I am playing more these days too.

Auntie Mimi's annual Blog 4 Peace is this week! I made mum sit down and make me up a nice pic to post on Friday. I hope you join in.

All the little sticky wafers will be showing up looking for candy later today. Mum plans to just sit outside and hand out the treats. Supposed to be a nice evening. She can sit and chat with the naybors and give the candy she bought away,

Feetsball Report

The Pack - Well, the not quite ready for prime time Pack played. Sometimes they look good, other times not. A few injuries, a few stupid plays for penalties. A group that isn't that good at playing together just yet. So for the first time in ages they have lost 4 games in a row. Mum watches, but she doesn't even yell at the moving picture box at all that they are messing up. She is expecting them to not do well this year. Oh well.

Happy Hollow-weenie!

Wonderful Wordy Wednesday

Three oversized and heavy, in terms of weight, books.

The top two are by Paul McCartney, encompassing the lyrics he has written over the years. In alphabetical order, not chronological. Also, it does not include everything he has written, either with John Lennon or by himself. Also there are no musical CD's, so if you don't know the songs, you may need to find them on the internet. The Beatle era songs I knew and many of the solo and Wing era hits. It covers just over 150 songs.

Lots of pictures, drawings, so even though the two books are nearly 900 pages you keep moving!

The bottom book, a retrospect on Bob Mackie's designing career. Mostly know for his work with Carol Burnett and Cher, he designed for many others. Costumes, performing gowns, and even some designs for men. Lots of pictures and the sketches he did of those designs. Lovely to see all of this as he is an amazing talent.

Lovely to go through all three of these books.

 Happy Reading.

Mini-ManCat Monday

A cat knows your every thought. It doesn't care, but it knows.

Yeah, I knows what mum thinks and it is usually kind thoughts of others and of the world. There are a few exceptions, but mainly for those in polly-tics!

Mum stayed home this week. Well, at least she didn't go anywhere overnight. Lots of running around, getting her dental done, eyes checked, flu shot. Lunching out with various peoples. Sheesh mum, you is a bizzy purrson.

I tried to sit on her lots so she stayed home, but that doesn't always work either. I gotta take a break to eat and potty and nap.

We even got a tiny bit of snow last Monday morning. Mum got up and was surprised as the weather guessers said it wasn't likely to get this far south. Wrong again weather guessers! It didn't last long.

Mum also took all of the blankies she had done off to the place so they can give them to people who need a warm blankie. All of them piled up on the little bed or chair. Plus a big pic of the last one she finished. She had 18 blankies to give. Way to go mum!

Yes she has started a new one, but not very far on it and no pics yet.

We had a marvy weekend. Nice enuf to have open windows and mum got lazy and didn't do much other than sit outside and enjoy it on Caturday. Not likely to get many more days like this, gotta enjoy them while she can.

 Feetsball Report

The Pack - Yeah, not gonna be their year. One of mum's furiends said it cuz he went with a funky haircut this season. Mum has the game on, but gets up and does other stuff so she can get stuff done. Once the game was done she went out to use the grass eater to chew up the leaves. Then she sat outside some more to just enjoy the nice day.

Have a good week everyone.

Tock Tober Day

For my late, grate bro Derby. Me and mum miss the big guy, but he would have turned 19 today. He was never a shy boy and liked to show off his backside. So here are some of his vintage tocks.

Some pumpkin tocks!

.

Plus a few of my tiny tocks!

Wonderful Wordy Wednesday

Hmm, just one book in a stash? Yeah, it took forever to get transferred to my library. Well, actually the system said it was being shipped from another library. When I check out the book it was actually from my own library. So not sure what happened.

Yeah, more stuff about the Windsor family and some of the dysfunctional relationships that happen.

I was off being nerdy this past weekend. I attended my high school reunion. We had a tour of our old high school building and we were the last graduating class from that school. The building itself was a WPA project in the 1930's. Nice to see people but some of my pals of that time were not there. Missed being able to see them. Oh well.

 Happy Reading.

Mini-ManCat Monday

Never *ever* try to baptize a cat.

Yeah, we are already purrfect and God loves us! Catliness is next to Godliness!

Mum left me again this weekend and she was gone overnight. Miss Kellie did come over to make sure my needs were met. Foods, litter box and play. Mum made it home mid-morning on Sunday. She said she was reuniting with peoples from school long ago.

This was mum's high school for all four years. She was part of the last freshman class to enter. Plus they were the final class that graduated from this school. It is now a junior high, has been added on and remodeled.

This is the main fancy painting just inside the front doors. The building was done in the 1930's.

They even built a swimming pool which was sort of unheard of way back when!

Her mum along with school colors red and black beads. Plus back then she was a kitty! A Panther! Yeah 2022 is 51 years, but this got a delay cuz of the virus! Can't replace the mugs!

Feetsball Report

The Pack - Looked bad and played worse. Mum thinks ARodg is getting over the hill and should let someone else try. These games right now people thought they would easily win. Yeah right.

Mum almost fell asleep during the game she thought it was so bad! Plus she finished the latest blankie during the game but didn't take a pic yet. Stay tuned!

Have a wonderful week everyone.

Wonderful Wordy Wednesday

The Boys is a memoir by Ron and Clint Howard. They were both child actors during the Sixties. Ron of course has gone on to be a director. Clint transitioned into being a character actor as an adult.

The Other Einstein is a fictionalized story of Albert Einstein and his first wife. The book insinuates that the big physic theories were her idea, not his.

Going There, combo of a memoir and tell all by Katie Couric.

King Richard, not about any British kings but Richard Nixon and Watergate. The book concentrates on the six months or so after the start of his second inauguration in January 1973. During those months it was the beginning of the end of his presidency. I was just the right age to really pay attention to all the hearings. I figured that the potential impeachment of a president wasn't something that happened very often. Little did I know that it would happen at least three more times in my lifetime.

Oh, yeah, I have my starter kit. Actually I probably have the advanced kit! I notice they don't have a nice chair to sit in. I have at least three chairs I use to sit in and read.

Happy Reading.

Mini-ManCat Monday

The more people I meet, the more I like my cat.

Yeah, mum likes me and hangs with me a lot!

I told you all about the stabby place visit last week and the tests came back faster than the vet man expected.

There was no cancer! Yippee, but some icky bacteria was growing there. It took a week to get all those results back and mum picked up drugs for me this past Wednesday. So I have been a tiny pill, plus some pink junk she tries to disguise with chicken and broth (doesn't work well mum).

Anyway, mum thinks my issues are going away. Very little sneezing and she isn't noticing gunk coming from my nose! I guess that is good news.

Here is the little pill I get, actually mum says it is half a pill, but I only get it once a day, with chick-hen!

Me from last Thursday, just chillin' in the front window. Plus I have been purring on mum. Somehow she got an infection in her toe! So hard to walk, toe red and swollen. She went to the doc and got pills to take too. So we both are doing pills these days. Her toe is pretty much better, she could even walk well enough to put on shoes and mow the lawn.

Feetsball Report

The Pack played in London yesterday. Which meant the game started early here, so mum did her laundry and watched the game. At first she didn't think she could watch the game but finally one of the local stations announced they would carry the game. Otherwise it was only the exclusive NFL network. She really didn't want to go hang out at a bar to watch the game.

So much for winning. The Pack played well in the first half, not so good in the second. They have sorta done that all year. Oh well. Lots of peoples traveled to the game from both sides, so lots of cheering for both teams.

Supposed to have some nice weather this week. Mum better open some windows for me.

Wonderful Wordy Wednesday

The Fauci book is a collection of various quotes by him over the past couple of years. So not something he wrote.

The Anderson Cooper book is a collection of emails he exchanged with his mother during the last few years of her life.

Carnegie's Maid is a fictional account of a maid who worked in Andrew Carnegie's home, actually the home of his mother. He wanted a relationship with her but she knows that won't be a good thing and moves on.

Murder Most Sweet and The Final Girl Support Group, I didn't make it through either. The first was set in Wisconsin featuring an older woman who bakes. Something with the dialog didn't sit right with me so it was hard to read. The other book was about women who are the last survivor of a group murder. I found it creepy and couldn't get through it.

Libraries did close during the pandemic. At least we couldn't go inside to get an actual book, but their electronic resources were available. My local library was closed for about 6 weeks before they set up curbside pick up.

My opinion is read whatever books you want in whatever format you want. I've read kid books as an adult. I went back as an adult and reread all of the books Walter Farley wrote in order. He did The Black Stallion series. His son has continued to write books in the series.

I finished my 150th book of the year yesterday and am likely to finish 151 today!

Happy Reading.

Mini-ManCat Monday

If we have a decent sort of cat to begin with, and have always treated it courteously, and aren't cursed with meddling, bullying natures, it's a pleasure to let it do as it pleases. With children, this would be wicked and irresponsible, so raising children involves a lot of effort and friction. They need to be taught how to tie their shoes and multiply fractions, they need to be punished for pocketing candy in the grocery store, they need to be washed and combed and forced to clean up their rooms and say please and thank you. A cat is our relief and our reward. - Barbara Holland

Yeah, mum pretty much lets me do what I want. However, this past week, mum took charge and hauled me off to the stabby place. I have been all sneezy lately and mum and the vet man thought it might be my teeth.

WRONG, my teeths are just fine but the vet man said my sinus was all gunked up so he got as much as he could suck out. He is getting the gunk tested but we don't have results back just yet.

I am still a little sneezy and gunky, but not as bad as before.

Mum deserted me most of the day yesterday. She went to were she lived as a little wafter and went to church. The church was cellybrating 150 years being in bizzness! They had one big service in a hotel convention room, then things went to the real church for lunch and lots of visits. Mum saw all sorts of people she hadn't seen in ages. She even sat in church next to her old dentist!

 Feetsball Report

The Pack - it took overtime but they finally manged to beat the third string QB and the Patriots. Mum missed the first part of the game but it was the end that was important. Next week The Pack plays in London!
