ManCat Monday

All cats love a cushioned couch. - Theocritus
You bet we do! A nice, soft place to nap, be it a couch, a bed or where ever.

I had a very quiet yesterday, mum left and I knew she wasn't dressed to go play with racy cars. But she was gone for the longest time. Seems she and Grampie went to help some peoples cellybrate being married for fifty years. Boy, that is a furry long time! Mum says they had a good time, it was a nice party/dinner and got to see lots of people they hadn't seen in a while.

Fevver Friday Mr Oriole

Mr and Mrs Oriole continue to stop by and get foods to eat. Mum has to fill the jelly cups up every other day.Now the feeder is hanging under the crabby apple tree so usually is in shade like the above pictures. But at just the right time the sun hits it and here is Mr O looking pretty.
The he flew over to the nectar feeder for a couple of nice long drinks for more energy too.
Checking out the oranges on the side too, although mum says they eat more jelly and nectar than the oranges.

Mum went out last night and took Grampie to a concert in the park. The little community band is peoples teens and up who can play music good. This little group does two concerts each summer, and they have other groups during the summer too.
Mum says it was hot sitting there even in the shade, but nice to be outside enjoying the music.

Hope every one has an excellent weekend.

Back to Normal

Phew, I have the house to myself again. Uncle Stormie left this morning, so I have that bed to nap on again. Lately I have been liking napping on that bed, so I didn't like that he closed the door on me. So I had to hang out with mum on her sleepy spot instead, but at least I know she loves having me around.

Uncle Stormie isn't much of a pet bean. Mum wanted to give him a treat to give to me, he wouldn't do it. I tried to lick his leg a little bit, he kept moving away. I asked to lick the milk from his cereal bowl, no go there either. Oh well, mum says he has always been this way, so a hard nut to crack. I will keep trying whenever he comes to visit.

Mum is happy we don't have company now too. She can do what she wants, eats when she wants and watch the picture box or the puter. Plus today is hot, Hot, HOT, so we are just chillaxin'.

ManCat Monday

The reason cats climb is so they can look down on almost every other animal - it's also the reason they hate birds. - Kay Buffington

I don't hate birdies, I like them, they taste good, as chick-hen and turkey are birdies. But I have never eaten a wild birdie, but I do like watching them from my windows. Here I am by the big windows that go to the floor, wide open for me to watch and hear birdies.
This is the highest spot I can get to on top of the big cold box. I like it up here, I can watch mum do food stuff and hopefully some of it will be given to me.
Still busy with company, Uncle Stormie will be here until Tuesday AM. That means I have him to bug. I tried to leave him a present to step in outside his sleepy room door (he shuts me out), but mum cleaned it up! Darn her.

But Grampie, Uncle Stormie and mum sat outside and watched birdies yesterday afternoon. Mr Oriole came by but is shy and would sit in the tree but not come to the feeder, but they got to see him.

It's Box Day

Yep me and boxes, it's a kittie thing. Mum bought some new shoes, I like the box the best.

We had beans along our walking trail with snap, crackle, pop things tonight. It is two weeks yet until the for real, snap, crackle, pop days. Mum says it better not get too bad, she likes her sleeps.

Happy Weekend. I have found out we are getting company this weekend. Uncle Stormie will be here for a few days for Father's Day. So Happy Father's Day to kittie Dad's and the kittie bean dad's too.

Happy weekend.

ManCat Monday

A cat is the only domestic animal I know who toilet-trains itself and does a damned impressive job of it. - Joseph Epstein

Yes our cat mum's taught us well and most of us rarely, if ever, have accidents. Mum will be nice and not put a picture of me using the box on the post today. She would get the bitey if she tried that.

Mum's first poppies popped yesterday morning. She went out and took pictures before she went to get Grampie for church.
When they came back, mum was walking on the roof of the house! She says the fastest way to clean the gutters is to get on the roof and use the leaf blower. Mum said they needed it badly as she didn't get them super clean last fall. Parts of them were all stinky.
Because she and Grampie spent so much time outside, when they were done they just sat on the patio drinking, tea or soda. Plus a nice picture of PHE and Virginger from yesterday morning in the sun on Sunday. Much better than on Caturday, when they were all dirty! Mum thinks a squirrel jumped up and dug out the flowers, giving them dirty faces.
Mum cleaned them up and moved them to a different table and spot away from where she thinks the squirrel can get at them. It is a baby squirrel, furry small.

Fevver Friday Splish Splash

The fevver was having a great time giving his fevvers a bath the other evening. I will stick to the way we kitties give ourselves a bath! Biggify the pictures to see all the splashes.

Mum was unfaithful to me last night. She was outside planting some of her little plants into pots, morning glories and moonflowers, when the neighbor came over with their little woofie. Mum picked him up and got all sorts of kisses from him.
I have been ignoring her, except when she offered treats. They were eaten and then I took off to ignore her. That will teach her to mess with the little woofie and let him give her kissies. Thankfully she had to come in and wash good to get clean, so that got rid of the woofie smell.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

ManCat Monday

A day without cats is like a day without sunshine.
Mum always says she misses me when she is gone, that I brighten her day when I am around. Her little ray of ginger sunshine everyday.

Well the weather guessers said it was going to be a rainy day, but the sun came out anyway. So we had a nice enough day that mum could open windows. I did a lot of sitting in the window and chittering away at the birdies at the birdie bath.

Mum was home most of the day, other than going to the store to pick up foods. She got through her pile of stuff she wanted to read. Plus she finished another crow-shay baby blankie yesterday. She hopes that she can take a break from making baby blankies, she hopes the beans at work take a break making babies!

Mum is glad that you like our library, it opened shortly after she moved here, in 2002. Mum says it is the library that garbage built, as some of the funds to build it came from the fees people paid to dump their garbage in our landfill! The quilt was made by a local purrson and put up to add color to the building. The library even has a page on Facebook.

Sleeping Saturday

This was me and mum the other morning when she didn't have to go day hunting. She was pretending to be sleeping, and I was doing my bit of purring and making biscuits. It was nice we didn't have to get up and going early.

Mum went to the library today, not just to get a book, but to be shown around to see the changes they have made. Mum was on a committee over a year ago to recommend stuff and they were showing off the stuff. Here is a picture of the building.
Plus inside they have a neat and fancy quilt hanging. Bet Darling Millie's mum would like to see this and could probably make one like it too.

Fledgling Fevver Friday

As always, biggify the pictures for maximum enjoyment. Mum found the grackel's nesting up high in our pine tree. She didn't get any pictures of the birdies on the nest, they would go away whenever she pointed the camera up there, even when she was standing far away. You can even see Mr Moon up above the tree.
So now we have some of the new baby fevver birdies showing up with their mum's and dads.
Here the little one is sitting in the crabby apple tree waiting to get some yummy that his mum had just pecked off the suet feeder.
On another day they were over by the seed feeder, while the little bird can fly, it would not fly up to the feeder, so mum had to keep going up and down to the feeder to get goodies.
Then they went over by the birdie bath for a drink, the little one didn't even try to drink. I hope he learns quick, cuz his mum will soon make him do it himself.
The robin checking out for bugs or worms in the lawn.
The baby waiting on the side of the patio for mum to find him a snack.

Hey, this is my blog, where is my picture?
Yeah, that is better, me waiting for her to turn on the puter box so I can share my life with you. I had extra mum time yesterday, she didn't go day hunting but was in and out taking Grampie to the bean VET for his regular check-up. He is fine, come back in a year.

Happy weekend everyone.

ManCat Monday

God allows cats in heaven just so he can keep an eye on them. - Dixie Carter
I did a lot of napping this weekend. It was cool again, so the windows weren't open much. I did get in some fevver watching as well. Some of the baby birds have hatched and are getting big enough to leave the nest.

Mum was around most of the weekend, doing the normal stuff that she does on the weekend. But last night she lefted around dinner time and said she was going to meet Chey's mum? All that way to the left coast? Oh, guess her human is visiting nearby and they meet for dinner. Mum brought a box home so that means I will get something to eat soon from that box.

Mum said that a bunch of the humans got together this past weekend in a Shy-town. She sorry she couldn't make it, she had to be around with her work puter during the weekend for day hunting duties at month end. Maybe next time.
