ManCat Monday

A cat is the only domestic animal I know who toilet-trains itself and does a damned impressive job of it. - Joseph Epstein

Yes our cat mum's taught us well and most of us rarely, if ever, have accidents. Mum will be nice and not put a picture of me using the box on the post today. She would get the bitey if she tried that.

Mum's first poppies popped yesterday morning. She went out and took pictures before she went to get Grampie for church.
When they came back, mum was walking on the roof of the house! She says the fastest way to clean the gutters is to get on the roof and use the leaf blower. Mum said they needed it badly as she didn't get them super clean last fall. Parts of them were all stinky.
Because she and Grampie spent so much time outside, when they were done they just sat on the patio drinking, tea or soda. Plus a nice picture of PHE and Virginger from yesterday morning in the sun on Sunday. Much better than on Caturday, when they were all dirty! Mum thinks a squirrel jumped up and dug out the flowers, giving them dirty faces.
Mum cleaned them up and moved them to a different table and spot away from where she thinks the squirrel can get at them. It is a baby squirrel, furry small.

  1. You have a squirrel digging up your plants; we have a gopher who ate our poppies. I am ticked off at him, but can't figure out how to get rid of him. He's too well dug in for the hose-in-the-hole trick.

  2. I love the poppies, but I love the planters. So cute Glad the squirrel cant get them now.

    Hugs GJ xx

  3. I bet it's hard to sleep wif yore Mommy walkin on da roof. Yoo looks like yoo's doin yore best tho.
PHE and Virginger looks happy wif their faces cleaned.

  4. Wow! I can't believe that squirrel got into your nice planters. I'm glad you got to lie in the sun. You haven't had all that much sun around you!

  5. Very pretty poppies! Those leaf blowers are scary, but they do the job quickly and the people like them! It was a good weekend for relaxing on the patio!

  6. What pretty flowers your Mom has there. She is also brave walking on the roof.

  7. Squirrel eat flowers? I thought they only liked seed stuff and peanuts? Wow! I wonder if he is all alone or if his family has moved into the neighborhood?

  8. Maybe she could let you have the squirrel(Cats how rude, squirrels are very nice). Mom's are very silly. We love the pretty red poppies they are such happy flowers. ~S,S,C & F

  9. Just make sure your momma is careful up on the roof so she doesn't take the fast way down. The poppies are pretty, but we like the picture of you snoozing the best.

  10. The poppies are beautiful. I love flowers.

  11. The flowers and the planters are cute, but the picture of you on the couch is the best! You look very comfy, Derby!

  12. PS - we bigified the pic of you on the couch and we think you have our couch! Does it have recliners on each end? Ours does although The Mommy only ever opens one end. We like to lay on the opened up end to sleep while she's sitting on it reading. We also like to get up under there and dig out all the stuffing!! Good fun!!!!!

  13. Oh, the poppies are pretty. Yes, we are good at taking care of daily needs without any help or advice.

  14. Hello dear Derby!
My name is Luna and I'm from Brazil! I came from my friends Eric and Flynn 's blog to visit you!
Your blog is full of nice stories and fabulous pictures! Cool!
    purrs and love

  15. Mom says she would like it if we would learn how to use the bean toilet 'cause it would save lots of green papers...those poppies are so bright!=^Y^=the Cat Street Boyz

  16. oh the poppies are so purrty ours died last spring - they was just about to open and we gotted a late frost and deaded them

Don't be shy, we loves to hear your meows and mews.
