ManCat Monday - New Year's Edition

Cats do not have to be shown how to have a good time, for they are unfailing ingenious in that respect. - James Mason

Woohoo, party at Dr Tweety's New Year's Eve! So all you cool cats, get ready to party. There is always nip to enjoy, me with my new nip ravioli. They are the best, and have some really good nip inside! Then we have a nice snuggly blankie to lay on that has all sorts of other kitties on it. So if we shed, you will never be able to tell. Mum will have to find another blankie for her to use. Maybe I will let her use it. She still has the sneezy, sniffly thing going on. Plus she is furry tired and has been napping almost as much as me. If you want to come over and watch the birdies, feel free. We have a nice chair to sit in, you can sort of see my big leopard pillow down on the floor, plus the floor itself. There is a heaty vent right there to help keep us warm. Mum will be sure to keep the feeders all full so make sure the birdies keep stopping by. Happy Purrthday to my bean cousin Joel!

Happy New Year everyone.

Winter Wonderland

The snow machine was at it again yesterday. Mum worked from home so she didn't have to go out with the crazy drivers to get home. Plus she had to use the snow eating monster, again.

So here are an assortment of pictures from yesterday during the storm, some even at night and then today.
So where was I during all of this. Having a nap pile with the new seven kitties on mum's new throw! She took a picture of me from outside while she was working.
Plus with the snow it brings lots of birdies around to eat at our feeders I get so 'acited when they come around. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and lots of snack.
Ah, the good life. Stay warm and dry everyone.

Funky Fang Shui Friday

Test all clear liquids carefully, don't expose yourself to dangerous depths of water.
I am just tasting what is coming out of the tap. Tastes OK to me. I do have to be careful in the hot rain room. But I have learned that once all of the gurgling stops, then the water is gone and I can jump in to the tub and I won't get my paws too wet.

Plus you don't want to get into other liquids, that are not drinkable, if you know what I mean. Like the humans litterbox thingy. Blech.

WooHoo, it is the weekend already!! Nice thing about holiday weeks, the beans don't have to be at work as much. They can stay home and play with us.

Boxing Day

I don't know why they call this boxing day. No boxes came for me today.

I hope all my blogging buddies had a good Christmas or whatever holiday you cellybrate. We had a good day here, even if mum finally gotted sick with a cold. Her head was all stuffy and she was sneezy all day. But she took some pills to help her feel better, drinking lots of juices and stuff. I have been purring by her, but I guess not enough.
Here I am yesterday by the tree checking out all of the prezzies, for mum, Grampie and me.
I was checking out each of them, but only one bag had stuff for me. And it was a great big shiny lizard!Look at this huge, shiny and colorful lizard. I wonder if Daisy or any of my southern furiends has found one this big or colorful.
Putting the leggy and sniffer on this. So what did I get mum?
A cute little picture of a ginger cat that she can hang on the wall of cats in the kitchen. Plus a cute frame that she can put a picture of me into!
Now you know I am not much of a lap kittie to keep mum warm, so she found SEVEN kitties to help keep her warm. So when she sits here with the puter open, she can keep her legs warm. Grampie got her this, some books and DVD's. We can have a Harry Potter film fest here. Mum watched the Goblet movie today and will probably watch the next one either tomorrow or Friday.
The official weather person on the moving picture box keeps saying the nasty word of SNOW. Guess we may gets lots of this again real soon. Stay warm.

ManCat Monday - Christmas Edition

Meow is like aloha - it can mean anything. -Hank Ketchum I am practicing to be the holiday table decoration for mum. She boughted this red cloth thing last week (very cheaply, she is good at that)to brighten up the table that mostly just holds stuff. But now it is holding pretty stuff. Mum got one of her fancy bowls out and some bright, shiny colorful balls. Makes the table look very festive, but I am the best and final touch. Last weekend I showed you how much snow had built up on the birdie bath. But then we got warmer weather and some sunshine during the past week. This is now was was left on Saturday morning and it had all melted by Saturday afternooon. The warmer weather made it all misty and foggy around here. Mum took a picture of the tree in the two doors down neighbors yard. But early on Sunday morning the wind started to blow with snow and the temperatures dropped. So we can see clearly again and the wind is furry cold. Mum did go outside so she could fill up the birdie feeders. The birdies all came around to eat, so they were happy so mum did a good thing by filling the feeders. Mum finally finished decorating the tree with little decorations. All of them are soft or at least not breakable. Hmph, does she think I would break them?
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)

And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, (because he was of the house and lineage of David,) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them; and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. Luke 2: 1-20 (KJV)

Merry Christmas

God Bless You All.

Shopping - Are You Done Yet?

Can I help you putting away all of the stuff in these bags?

Mum is done with her Christmas shopping and has been putting the stuff inside of pretty colored papers. But she won't put them under the tree as she doesn't want me to eat them or rip them open. At least not until Christmas.

Mum is trying to sleep extra as her head is stuffy and she is tired. I however wanted to wake her up early. So I jumped on the bed and starting doing Fat Eric's trick of licking her hair, she didn't get up until she wanted to get up.

Then she readed the paper things and then went to the store for food. She said she is not going into a store to shop for many days, too many crazy last minute people shopping. She got what she needed for her and Grampie, even buying stuff that she said the store was practically giving away.

Mum had looked last week at stuff for herself but didn't get anything. Then yesterday the stuff is even less AND she had a coupon for 15% more off. So she gotted herself some cute sleeping outfits, one with kitties on them, one with sheeps and a nice fluffy robe to help her keep warm as we sit on the couch and snuggle.

Winter is being strange. We had lots of snow and cold weather while it was still officially autumn, now that it is officially winter, we have warmer weather and lots of fog. So it it very dreary outside. The talking box people say it is going to rain, then get cold and bring some snow. So we will have a white Christmas here.

Funky Fang Shui Friday

Inspect all growing and non-growing items in your vicinity. Eat those that give you good vibes, use rest as your Zen garden.
Yep, this one should be part of my Zen garden. Mum had this plant when I first moved in but over time I played with it too much and finally mum threw it out. Then she got a fake plant instead.

Mum said she won't have to go into work until after Christmas, so lots of mum time for the next few days. Yipee. Plus mum says she got a plant from her boss for Christmas, but she is leaving it at the office, so I won't eat it. Hmph. Probably not really worth eating!

We have had some sun and slightly warmer weather, so the snow is melting some. Not enough to make the snow all go away, but enough that mum is happy to see bare spots on the roof of the house. Plus it is supposed to get rain and then snow over the weekend.

All of our purrs must have worked, mum has not been all sneezy today. So she says lots of rest, more sleep and such for the next few days. That will help her feel lots better real soon.

The LOOOONNNNGGGGG holiday weekend is here!

Fevvers Everywhere

Mr Hawk paid us a visit again yesterday. But mum didn't know he visited until this morning when she looked outside and saw lots of fevvers on top of the snow by one of the feeders. She inspected more when she came home tonight and lots of fevvers in the feeder. So mum didn't see it like she did last February when we got pictures, but Mr Hawk got a dove for his lunch. A few weeks ago he just hung out in the tree, but he got his lunch this time.

Mum is watching people sing pretty songs. One from a place she visited when she was in the place with the big salty lake. People singing, the Norman nabersnackle or something like that. Now lots of people from a college named Olaf are singing. Mum likes the pretty songs that they sing, Christmas and otherwise.

Mum has been sneezing lots and been very sleepy. I hope she is not getting sick, just in time for Christmas. I better go purr with her so she stays healthy.
But she can be silly by putting the toy on top of me. Silly lady. I will play with the toy when I feel like it.

ManCat Monday

The mathematical probability of a common cat doing exactly as it pleases is the one scientific absolute in the world. - Lynn M. OsbandVery true, we kitties do whatever we want. We want to nap, we nap. Play, we play! But her comment about us being common? We are exceptional kitties, not common.

Now mum says "Enough Already". No she is not upset anything with me, but with the never ending snow machine this month. Mum took a few pictures this morning as she once again had to use the snow eating monster.
The front of the house has lots of icy water hanging down. Mum says this is not good and then she needs to bring out a big long pole with an upside down scoop on it to bring the snow off the roof.
You can see the front of the house and the neighbors house and they have raked snow from the roof too to help keep the icy stuff down. You can see mum's footprints from the other day. They almost got filled in by the snow yesterday.
This is the bird bath, mum has not touched this at all. You can see how deep it has stacked up. Sort of looks like a big ice cream cone. Mum figures this is 10-12 inches deep right now. The official TV weather guy says we have a snow depth of 13 inches.
A picture of the front of the house after mum used the snow eating monster and raked our roof as well too. She raked the roof Friday and redid it again on Sunday morning. See anyone familiar in the front window?
The snow making the trees look pretty.
Me, not really paying attention to mum. I was giving myself a bath as I sat in the sun. You know cleanliness is next to godliness.

Secret Paw Arrived

What timing! Friday mum got my package taken to the station, then later in the day the guy left me a package. What was bestest is that mum was home from work early, so as soon as the guy left it mum brought it inside.
Here I am inspecting the box, it is from Artsy Catsy! They are a great bunch of kitties, so this should be good.
Top layer was a card signed by all of the gang, plus drool from Rocky. Must be nip in here somewhere!
First a wonderful sign to tell everyone not to do bad things to me, Derby. All of those bad things start with a "D" too. Now I know what mum should not do to me.
Then down to the serious layer of goodies - organic nip, fevver butt mousies, jacks (I never seen these before), Pounce Treats too. I am one of the minority in that I like Pounce treats better than Temp-tay-shuns. Two containers of treats. I should be all set to have mum handing these out on a regular basis.
Mum put them up on the top of the stand and I jumped up to inspect further. Oh this will be great!
And the empty box isn't bad either! Thank you so much to everyone at Artsy Catsy, you did a great job of picking prezzies.

I mentioned mum came home early on Friday, so I got some extra mum time. But she also spent time outside pulling snow off the roof of the house! Doesn't she get enough of that stuff when it comes down on the driveway? Mum says she did it to keep from getting more ice on the edge of the roof. We have some and lots of icicles which mum says if they get thick enough could damage the roof or gutters. This way the edge has less snow to actually melt and things work out fine.

Plus she spent a lot of time filling the birdie feeders, they sure do eat a lot when the snow is on the ground. Good thing mum has lots of foods for them, it is snowing again today. But is is a nice soft fluffy snow, pretty to look at and not hard to shovel.

Oh mum is done with another batch of peanut brittle. Time to go see if I can lick the pan and get some butter.
