HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday. It is starting out cool and cloudy today, we may get rain. So our few days of nice weather are gone.
Mum is trying to catch up on moving picture box stuff. She records things and then she has to have time to watch them. She was all caught up last week, but this week has been bizzy for her.
As always we had a few cats head off to The Bridge, one of which was unexpected and rather tragic. Poor Crockett died from an accident. His beans asked people to go orinch today for him. Heck I am always orinch for stuff. Plus Grumpy cat, Tardar Sauce, hope she is less grumpy at The Bridge. I am sure the gang welcomed her with open paws.
Plus I have to send out comforting purrs to my sweetie cat Dora. Her human Dad went to heaven this week. He had that blasted cancer stuff. Lots of purrs to Dora and her mum Kate. Mum's heart is broken and she has lots of leaky eyes.
So I guess a cloudy day is good. It is sad outside and we are sad inside.

Garden Thursday
Hello and welcome to Garden Thursday. We are getting some better weather, not as rainy and not as cool. Mum can come outside and not need a jacket!
Mum hung out a new wind sock, the old one was falling apart. Trout Towne will like this one as it has fishies on it.
The one maple tree has lots and lots of seeds to come down. That means lots of new trees trying to start growing. Plus one of our purrty two-lips.
Now mum biggified the next picture as much as she could. Do you see the one little tree trying to grow? It is on the front porch by the letter box and is growing in the leaf bud covers. Mum has been sweeping lots but obviously not enuf!
The hostas in the front and doing good and mum needs to work on the weeds!
Then Wednesday mum went off to help at the community garden. They actually had a few spears of asparagus. For those who don't know it takes several years before you can harvest these little guys and then only a little bit each year. But they actually have spears, not just the fern this year.
They got four new beds to replace the ones that the paint was failing. You can see the old ones piled up in the background. The new ones are plastic, so mum hopes they don't fade much in the sun.
Then they started laying string to show where each square foot is as they are doing square foot gardening this year. Depending on the plant you can put one or more plant per square. Like one tomato plant or 16 for carrots, 9 for peas.
The just as mum got home the village guys where showing up to collect our brush. The pushed it out on the street, then the big truck scooped it up and dumped it into the truck. Mum is happy the brush is gone, even though she has a few places she would like to still trim back. Oh well, mum will have to haul that off herself.
As you can see it was a bright and sunny day. That made us all happy.
Love, Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

Straw Hat Day
Straw hats, well, I don't do hats of any type. Mum isn't much of a hat purrson either, but she does wear hats when needed. Like when mum did a hat last year for the racy thing that combined Derby hat and a Stinky Mayo hat.
So if like hats wear them, I won't be joining you

ManCat Monday
The cat does not offer services. The cat offers itself. Of course he wants care and shelter. You don't buy love for nothing. Like all pure creatures, cats are practical. - William Seward Burroughs
Yep, I am practical, mum too. We don't get too fancy about things around here.
Me and mum had a nice weekend. Mum was bizzy helping sort food on Caturday from the big food drive. Plus she is doing back today to help finish things off. This is their biggest food drive of the year, so lots and lots of foods come in. Mum said she even saw a couple of cans of cat food come through!
Sunday started out super sunny, then got a bit cloudy but mum did some work outside. She got the grass eater out and did the front half of the yard. She did it cuz she had to put the brush out for pickup and she wanted the grass short. Last year they didn't pick up for over a week, so she doesn't want super long grass again this year. Mum says that since she cut the grass they will be early to pick this up.
Mum says it is a purrty small pile this year. Guess she didn't have as much deaded stuff to cut out of the trees.
Me at the door when she was done working outside. Then she had a sit down and I sat on her. She readed her book for a bit before watching the moving picture box in the evening.
Have a wonderful week everyone.

Caturday - Prepare for Disaster
HiYa, Ducky here. Happy Caturday. I guess today is a day we need to prepare for disaster. Mum says we don't want any disasters, but that we are ready to do stuff when they come. Like having the PTU handy, foods and such ready to go.
Anyway, today isn't a day we should have any disasters. At least not weather related ones. It is looking like a nice day with sunshine and warmish temps.
Me and mum are going to hang out for the day. She will do her chores and I will do my chores. What are my chores, well.....napping, eating, watching bird TV, guarding the rug and snoopervising mum while she crow-shays. I take my chores very seriously.
Happy Weekend to you all.

Garden Thursday
hello and welcome to Garden Thursday. Well, we have gone a whole week without any snow, so that is good, but we only get one nice day at a time.
Our nice day this past week was Tuesday. Mum got the grass eater out and did that, plus she worked on cutting out some stuff that was growing where she didn't want it.
Here is the pile of stuff she cut out, she will haul it to the street for pickup by Sunday. The village guys will be by sometime soon to do the annual brush pickup.
The dogwood shrubs looking a bit less messy, dead stuff cut out and all. Below, mum trimmed out from our side of the fence part of a mulberry tree growing in the fence.
The lilac in the back showing the flowers to come. The flowers are slow to come since it has been so cool. The bleeding heart is growing good and should be blooming soon. You can see future flowers on this too.
So that is all for this week. Things are getting nice, just taking it slow getting here.
Love Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

ManCat Monday
Even ugly cats are cute. - G. Phillips
There is no such thing as an ugly cat. Never gonna happen, we are cute, handsome, pretty, but never ugly.
Thanks to all who stopped by on Derby Day. It was quite a day with the race and then the stuff that happened after the race. Mum listed to the race on the radio, she only found out about the DQ much later at night. Why? Cause she was out playing with racy cars. Yeah, these things are noisy! They don't purr, they roar.
When mum got home, I sat on her lots to get my quota of love from her. I got that, gooshy foods and then we went to bed early cuz she is tired!
Happy week everyone.

Stinky Mayo Day
I don't think I am Mexican. I doubt it I have never been south of the border. ANY Border!
Mum isn't a big fan of Mexican foods, she doesn't do hot and spicy very well. She says we will just cellybrate by eating our usual foods.

Caturday - Derby Day
Happy Caturday, it is the day the horsies run for roses and a day when me and mum cellybrate my late grate bro Derby.
Derbs was adopted on the first Caturday of May and that is why he got called Derby. Here is his shelter mug shot, with a smile on his face. Which is why he got called Smiley Boy by mom Toni.
Below, one of his first pics once he moved in, sitting by an open window. He loved to hang out in the kitch-hen window and soak up the sun.
So to cellybrate horsies and Derby I had mum put out some goodies for us to have while we wait for the horsies to run for the roses.
Call to the post and call to the buffet. We got chick-hen and ham. Just ask the waiters for more if you are still hungry.
The race day wouldn't be complete without a few nip juleps as well. Drink responsibly.
Plus happy Star Wars Days. May the Fourth be with you.

Garden Thursday
Welcome to Garden Thursday. It has been cool and rainy here. Mum says sunshine will come tomorrow an on the weekend.
You can see us here from Sunday with the sunlight coming to melt things. Glimmer had the best idea, she was under the little table. Mum put her here since she was falling off the table all the time. Trooper and me should have done the same thing!
The one thing with cool weather the flowers last longer. Although we prefer to see them without snow on them.
It was too wet for mum to work at the community garden this week, they canceled out the workday. Hopefully next week will be better.
See you next week. Hopefully with more warms and sunshine.

ManCat Monday
A catless writer is almost inconceivable. It's a perverse taste, really, since it would be easier to write with a herd of buffalo in the room than even one cat; they make nests in the notes and bite the end of the pen and walk on the typewriter keys. - Barbara Holland
The snow came and went this weekend. We didn't get much and it went away fast. Thank goodness.
Above is when it first started, below is how it looked when mum came home from having dinner out. It was snowing worse where she had dinner. Harder to see ahead, but she made it safely there and back home.
Next morning, Sunday, the sun was shining bright and you can see how it the snow was melting quickly.
What about me? Well, I had lots of naps and cuddles with mum. She made a bunch of her crow-shay hats for her project. Plus we sat and watched it snow together. We are both hoping this is the last of the snow for a long time. Although mum says she amembers when it snow once in MAY!
Hope everyone has a good week. We start a new month this week.

Caturday
HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday and I certainly hope your Caturday will be better than mine! Why?
Well, first, mum is just now getting around to helping me post. Seems she feels her stuff should come afore mine. Reading the newsy paper and other stuff on line. Feeding her face, getting dress, washing up and all. No, it is my time!
Second, we are supposed to get more snow. Yes, you readed that right. SNOW! Enough already. The girls are not happy at all about this. It won't start until after lunch however.
So I am going to take it easy today. Well I usually take it easy every day. I will report on the snow come Monday.
Have a good weekend everyone.
