Garden Friday?

OK, we had a question on yesterday's post by Ayla, Iza and Marley's TBT. He wanted to know about the tool in the first picture.
This? This TBT, would be a shovel. A very basic tool that most homeowners have around. However, it is not considered a snow shovel or a type of garden shovel. So not going to find it with those types of tools.

Mum says it is what Grampie called a grain scoop. Mum has two of them, the smaller one on the left and Grampie's one on the right. These are made of alum-i-num-num, but mum says she also sees them now in the store made of plastic.
Here you can see the scoop closer up, with rounded sides to hold stuff, like grain so you could load it into a feed box or something. Mum has used hers to shovel snow, specially when she is working to get the stuff out of the end of the driveway. You cut the size of chunk you want to carry, then pick it up and move it. Mum has also used it to load mulch into the wheel barrow to move it around.

So TBT, you may need to get to a store that carries at least some farm supplies or perhaps at a big box home type store. She did google grain scoop and found them. Hers are the Ames brand.
Oh and here is the old litterbox insert. It fitted inside the litterbox. To get the, ahem, by products and chunks out, you just lifted this up. The litter would fall back into the box, the chunks could be removed. Mum still uses it even though the boxes are long gone!
So that is all again! Bye. Happy weekend.

  9. Our people call that a grain shovel too.
And dad uses it to pitch heavy snow from the end of the driveway when the plow goes through. We're talking the real heavy wet snow. You scoop & pitch in all one motion.
