ManCat Monday

Animals are such agreeable friends - they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms. - George Eliot

Oh yeah? We ask questions all the time, we think some of the stuff you do is absolutely stupid. We tell you that all the time, you just don't understand!
Ducky needs his ears and brain to be cleaned out regularly. He is such a goof ball, snoozing on the job here. Part of what I have alway done is to be the protector of mum. I patrol the house and make sure nothing bad is coming in that I can take care of.
These are a few of the things that Ducky thinks are mousies. They are not real mousies, they are play mousies. Fun to chase around and pounce on for practice.

Caturday night, mum came home from eating with Miss Lynn. She was sitting and hemming a pair of trousers for Grampie. Ducky and I were chilling on the couch with her. But I heard a faint sound from the dungeon and took off. Ducky did not follow, he has no awareness that he was supposed to be on immediate alert and be on duty.

A short while later I came up from the dungeon with this. A real mousie that I had made sure ran into one of mum's traps. Once it did I brought it upstairs for mum. Ducky didn't even want to know what it was or take a look at it.

What is the younger generation coming to? Sheesh, ya gotta be able to get a mouse now and then. Biggify if you need to.
You can just see the tail on this picture.

Ducky obviously needs more mancat lessons.

Maybe Ducky should get some remedial mancat lessons? That poor little mouse is kind of cute, but not when they are in the house!

It's a bit squashed, but we suspect that mouise will still taste good.

Derby, you are a mighty hunter, sweet boy; we are very impressed with your Mom protecting skills!...Ducky is a sweetheart but he still needs his big brother to lead the way and show him the ropes=it might take a while, handsome!...Happy week and kisses x3 friends...Calle, Halle, Sukki

WOW! You brought it upstairs in the trap?!! That's just as if you caught it yourself, because you brought it to mum. Excellent job!

After you were finished playing with it, you should've teleported the mouse over here so we could play with it.

Pawsome job Derby. Did you throw it in the garbage for Mom too.

You two are growing so close already! We have been together for 10 years and still only Lizzie will wash Nicky.

Yeah, eeeeeeeeeeeeeek from Jan! We can see where a mouse in a trap wouldn't be appealing as an appetizer. It's more fun to catch them yourself. Good job on being alert and bringing your mom the evidence.

Oh mouses are fun! I can't understand why Ducky wouldn't want to play with one. I like to bring them to Mom as presents too, Derby.

Eeeeeeek! You know what I have a friend who lives on the east side of our mountains and gets mice occasionally but she has this really cool trap that has a little trap door that comes down and she takes the trap outside in the woods and one end of the trap has a soda cracker that holds the door shut...so as soon as the mouse eats through the soda cracker the door opens and he is free! Cool huh.

You are the master of the hunt, Derby.

You has the mad hunting skillz, but I am not sure I would know what to do with a real live fresh dead mousie.

A really big part of me wants to say, Ewwwwwwww. Gee-ross!

Wow, I am so impressed with your hunting skills, Derby! The mouse trap attached to the mouse is a nice touch.

So you brought the mousie up trap and all? That is amazingly clever of you. Ducky is going to have to lean to pay closer attention to what you do and learn from you.

The Crew said...

Well Derby, that's why you're the big brother. You must each Ducky everything he needs to know to become a Mancat.

LC used ta tell us about hearing mousetrap SNAPS at night an runnin to find them. But the traps were never where she could get at the mousies wifout TBT's help.

But we've nefer heard that sound. Sounds cool though!

Great job, Derby!!!

Panda Bear, Meerkat, and Cookie are the best mousers here. Caramel is a bit of a diva, and Padre is a pacifist. Who ever heard of a pacifist cat?
