Garden Thursday

::three paw taps::
Hello and welcome to Garden Thursday, with your hostess Virginger! Today our flowers are a couple of the day lilies we have in the yard. Mum says these are plants that are pretty much idiot proof. Maybe even some of you brown thumbs could grow theses. The dark one is in the back garden, the pinky one out front.
Something is still breaking the rose canes. Mum is not happy. She had this all cleaned up a month ago, all the broken stuff cleared out. The other day, more broken stuff.
It hasn't been quiet here like lately. Our front these guys come along with big trucks, dump stuff off, dig holes and break up the street.
They even made a big hole across the street that they had to put a fence up so no one would fall in. Plus they came and dug up next to the house. So some of our ferns are gone. Mum says they will fill in again next year.
Not so hot this weekend, the boys told you about the open windows the other day. Plus we got some rain and thunder boomy storms.
Thanks for stopping by, see you next week

Love, Virginger

ManCat Monday

One is never sure, watching two cats washing each other, whether it's affection, the taste or a trail run for the jugular. - Helen Thomas
Mum deserted us for most of the weekend. Off being outside in the heats, but drinking lots of water, so furry safe. Just chasing racy cars around for the weekend. AGAIN.

We stayed home and napped, our usual stuff. Otherwise not much to report.

Garden Thursday

::three paw taps::
Hello to everyone this week. The hots continue but I just stay in the shade all day. When the sun starts to go down, then I come out to inspect the garden. That includes the fevver stuff. More sunflower seeds were needed.
Time to fill up the fevver bath. The little fevvers need waters to drink and splash in to keep cool too.
Then I can hide inside the grapevine, nice and shady.
See how big the grapes are getting? In another month they will start to turn all purple.

With the hot weather the local cicada's are buzzing. They don't start until it gets hot and then they hatch out. They will be singing their song until it gets cool and we have frosty weather.

See you next week, bye.

Love, Virginger

Sad News

Mum talked with her furiend Miss Lynn. Her woofie, Chloe, ran off to the bridge on Caturday. Chloe was getting blind and Miss Lynn thinks she then had a stroke. She couldn't walk and all.

So big purrs for Miss Lynn. Mum says she will go woofie picking with Miss Lynn when she is ready.

Hugs and purrs to you.

ManCat Monday

The cat is, above all things, a dramatist. - Margaret Benson
Drama, yeah we love it. First it is HOT, HOT, HOT. 90 in the shade So we didn't do much this weekend.

Mum did, she went out in the hots on Caturday, all day. Came home all sweaty, dirty, stinky, tired. She spent the day chasing old racy cars. Said she saw a Cheetah! Mum says not these guys but a car cheetah.
Mum remembered the camera, but forgot the memory card was in the puter! No picture of the Cheetah, mum said it broked first session and she didn't see it again. But here is what the racy car Cheetah looks like.
Sunday I sat down with mum and had a talk, told her we should be getting lots more treats. She didn't understand, was trying to talk cat. If she only new what she was saying! BLUSH!

Me watching some of the young fevvers outside. Following their beans around, not landing well on the bushes or fence. But no crash landings.
Ducky was helping mum balance the money account. We are good for this month per Ducky, enough green papers to pay the bills. Plus he helped her paste things on her game board from the food place. Trying to win a prize, but mum says not likely.

Stay cool kitties.

Garden Thursday

::three paw taps::
Hi Virginger with you today to guide you through Garden Thursday. Yes, part of my duties include snoopervising the outside cooking. This day mum just did some beast.
Our daylilies are just starting to bloom, these are some little gold/yellow ones. We have other colors that haven't started to open yet.
Mum worked hard last week to trim off the crabby apple tree. Seems the very end of the branches were hitting the house. Mum says that is a no-no for trees. The should not touch the house.
So here is the pile of the stuff all piled up by the side of the metal monster room. Mum took it off to the compost pile last Caturday, so no place for the chippies to hide.

Happy Bastille Day to all of our Frenchy furiends and their beans. See you next week.

MiniManCat Monday

A cat allows you to sleep on the bed. On the edge. - Jenny De Vries

HiYa, Ducky here. Mum has a big enough bed that she doesn't sleep on the edge. But then we don't sleep with her all night. Matter of fact I like to sleep on top of her hip when I do sleep with her.
Plus we have a whole other two beds to sleep on if we wants. Here we are napping on Grampie's bed in the guest room.
It was hot and humid this weekend, mum didn't do much outside. Matter of fact she woke up really early on Sunday, way earlier that she would normally on any day. So she was a good girl and took a long nap with us on Sunday afternoon.
She did go outside long enough to water the flowers and cook. She put these yellow rings on the grill, we didn't think too much of them. This is what we want, grilled beast.
All gone, yes we got a taste.

Happy Caturday

Nothing much going on, mum is doing her chores. We are napping, watching fevvers outside and guarding mum's purse.
OH noes, the sucking monster is coming out. Gotta go hide for a bit. Enjoy your weekend. We will once mum is done cleaning.

Garden Thursday

::three paw taps::
Today I will show you some of our plants and shrubs. Not much flowering at the moment. Above is one of a line of three varigated leaves, red twigged dog-wood. Mum likes these, they show up nice, give us something to look at. AND block our view from where the neighbor woofie Lacy likes to do her bizness.
Same shrub, when it is in shade. Still shows up really nice.
Our grape arbor, this was here when mum moved in. She just lets it grow, maybe trims it out every few years. But it too blocks our seeing our neighbors, they can be outside and so can we, but we have privacy. We may hear them, but we can't see them.
See the baby grapes getting going! That's all for this week.

Bye.

Virginger

Proud to be an Americat

Happy 235th purrthday America.

Happy Independence Day to our fellow American Kitties. Hope all have a great day and cellybrate responsibly and have been cellybrating all weekend safely. Mum's finger is fine, she didn't want the cauly-flower to be pink.

The official big fireworks was last night in our area, some places will have them tonight. We ordered these special in that they don't make booms to scare kitties. They are pretty but won't scare you. Now to honor America, please join in and sing a few songs with us. Sing them from your heart.

God, bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, And guide her
Through the night with a light from above. From the mountains To the prairies To the oceans white with foam, God, bless America, My home, sweet home.God bless America Land that I love
Stand beside her
And guide her
Through the night with a light from above
From the mountains
To the prairies To the oceans white with foam
God bless America

My home sweet home
God bless America....

My home sweet home!

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!

America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self the country loved
And mercy more than life!

America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for halcyon skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the enameled plain!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till souls wax fair as earth and air
And music-hearted sea!

O beautiful for pilgrims feet,
Whose stem impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till paths be wrought through
wilds of thought
By pilgrim foot and knee!

O beautiful for glory-tale
Of liberating strife
When once and twice,
for man's avail
Men lavished precious life!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till selfish gain no longer stain
The banner of the free!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till nobler men keep once again
Thy whiter jubilee!

Owwwweee!

Oh noes, bloody tissues! Thankfully not us, mum cut her finger cutting up veggies.
One bandage and she is back in action!

We have the hots, the cold air blowy is working, fans too. Even mum is staying inside with us and chilling out. Other than to do a quick outside stuff, like cooking, filling the hummer feeder and watering the fevver baths and flowers. She is inside being cool.
