No Crochet Time!

No new blanket this week. I finished the one I showed last week, started a new one and then the weather got warm. Really warm. Too warm to sit and work on something with a lap full of yarn.

It has cooled off so I am working on it again, but only about 75% of the way through. Getting some of it done during baseball games this week. As I write this the Brewer's game will be later on Thursday evening.

I did my kindness to animals today. I noticed a squirrel underneath the bird bath and it just stayed there. Even went I went outside it didn't run away. I moved the bath off and saw two of its front claws caught in the support.

So when I moved the bath off I could see the problem. I was able to clear one claw by pushing it up with a piece of wood. The second one was really stuck. I ended up using a pliers to bend the metal hoping to free it up and push it out. At first it didn't work and I thought I would have to call my pest control people to help out, but then suddenly the little guy was free and scampered away.

I managed to do this and not get scratched or bitten! I took a pic of the area where the claw was stuck. You can see how narrow it gets. Likely a younger squirrel, it was small. I did at first have to contend with an adult squirrel who was around. I got that one scared off so I only had to deal with the one that was stuck.

A couple of pics of Ducky. He had me worried as he was sitting here, eyes closed, head down. A place he usually doesn't sit. I was worried he had collapsed. When I went over he opening his eyes and got up. Freaked me out!

Happy Fall!

Lovely to see Ducky. Cats are very good at freaking their owners out.

  7. What a great job, helping the squirrel. I hope it knows better next time.

As for Ducky, gracious, they can scare us out of a year's growth that way, and we can't afford to lose it!
