Have fun!
I had a hard time finding just six words to sum up me and my life. Here we go!
Sassy but loving, sexy orange mancat.
I guess that works. I thinks this has been around for a while, so I won't tag anyone, but play if you want.
Lots of purrs for OrangeBoy and Storm. Orange Boy found a new plaything, which happened to be a snake. The snake did not want to play so Orange Boy got they bitey from the snake. He is improving but not out of the woods. Storm is fighting lymphoma and going in for more tests. So lots of purrs for both of them.

ManCat Monday
So I am sorta a rectangle here snoozing in the basket with the stuff out of the confetti machine. This basket is not actually part of the confetti machine, but when the machine is full then it gets put into this basket until it is full!
Mum left me all alone all weekend! She left Saturday morning and didn't come back until late Sunday afternoon! She was off playing in traffic again for the first time this season. She said she had fun, even though it was cool outside.
Our little CFHF kittie now has a name, Miss Lenda Paw, which was suggested by Parker. Good suggestion Parker. Smooches to you.
Don't forget Monday, today, is the last day you can buy your raffle ticket for our latest CFHF opportunity. You need to go over and buy tickets. It is a really cool flashy box and will help the CFHF earn green papers to get to be an official charity.
While it was springy last week, this week it is cool again and mum turned the heat back on. Thank goodness! If I had my hoo-ha's they would be freezing off.

Funky Fang Shui Friday
Have had lots of open window time this week and the grass is getting green. Some of the shrubs and trees are getting green too. But cloudy and rainy today, maybe some boomer storms! Here is the flower bed in front of the house. The four-cythia is in full bloom at last, plus lots of hiya-cynths too, blue, white and pink ones. The tulips are coming up but not yet blooming. Both mum and I say thank goodness to see a color other than white on our front lawn!
Hmmm, these colors were the ones mum had when she bought flowers a few months ago. Hehehe, if mum let me outside I would probably eat all of her flowers, then it wouldn't look nearly so nice outside.

CFHF Raffle
I thought I’d let you guys know where we stand in terms of becoming an actual charitable organization recognized by the IRS. We have a lot left to do and some of those things coming up are very expensive. We have already obtained our incorporation certificate which cost about $75. I am in the process of applying for a charitable submissions license which costs $100, our 502(c)(3) fees will be $750 which is our largest expense. We also have small expenses which certainly chip away at our costs; these include domain registration, chat rooms for meetings and newsletter services. All and all we really need about $1000 to truly be in the up and running as we would like to be. We understand this will take time, but we’re trying to move it along as quickly as possible with fund raisers for our operating or administration fund. ML, our chairperson of the fund raising committee, was kind enough to donate THIS WONDERFUL CAMERA. ML requested all donations from the camera go directly to our operating costs.
So we’re asking all you kitties out there to buy even just one raffle tickets to help us realize out dreams. Besides helping our organization reach its goals, you will have an opportunity to win this wonderful camera which Amazon lists at $465.99. Please check it out for all the product details. We want to thank for you all your support so far, we are a little over half way to all of our goals. We are very anxious to begin helping the kitties of the blogosphere and with your help we know we can reach our goals.
~Trish, President
Heck if every kittie from all of the blogs bought ONE ticket, that would be lots of green papers. I have over 200 linkies to blogs and some of the blogs have more than one kittie. So with mum doing the math 5 multiplied by 200 is a thousand dollars. I am sure I don't even have every kittie or pet blog either, and some will buy multiple tickets. If we do well with this raffle it will go a long way to earn the funds needed to help kitties and get the funds to file for official charity status. If your beans get a cool camera, then they can take neat pictures like mum takes of me.
Go buy your tickets, you have until Midnight on Monday April 28! Go, do it now!

ManCat Monday
Me playing with the beads from the Christmas tree. Heck the whole tree could be a plaything. I did knock it over a few times before mum managed to put enough books on the base to hold it down!
Mum has been going crazy brushing me! She says I just walk by her and she is covered in furs, so she is helping me shed out my coat. I love my Zoom Groom, but I don't like being held so mum can do the brushing. But mum is determined, so unless I really get nasty with her, I will have to endure this for a while.
Concatulations to Russ for winning the Gizzy Quilt raffle for Laura and kitties through CFHF.
Mum did some work outside this weekend, sort of the final touches to just being able to enjoy the outside. She bought some stuff and planted seeds today. But before she could plant she had to soak the seeds overnight. So about o'dark thirty I knocked it off the counter where she thought I couldn't get at it. So she heard the cup go clunk on the floor, got up, picked up the seeds, put more water in the cup and then put it inside a cupboard. Then she went back to sleep.
Then in the afternoon she put the seeds in the dirt and took them outside to get warm in the sun. If you biggify the picture you can see the four types of seeds she started. I think I am going to like the stuff on the right the best.
Then mum relaxed and read a book, she even took me outside in my porch too. then cooked her dinner on the grill.
She cooked her chick-hen on the grill, said it tasted good with a marinade of honey mustard. I got a little taste too!
Plus mum got a plant from the neighbors, it is a pussy-willow and there are a few soft and fuzzy catkins on it this spring.

Visitors
Looks like they stopped by to get a snack of the food that the other birdies spilled on the ground, then they wandered over on to the grass. Then I could get an even better look as I could go to mum bedroom window which was open. I invited them in, but they declined. Then they flew off. Mum says they probably went back to the river pond that is nearby. Maybe they will have little duckies in the future. Stop by with them!
Mr Chip Monk also stopped in for a snack. Haven't seen him since last fall, so I hope he had a wonderful and long nap this winter with all of our snow.
Then mum went out and did some stuff outside, so of course I have to snoopervise her. Otherwise I don't think anything would get done properly. She took away all of the grass and leaves that she has raked or picked up the past few weeks. Then she put in a little grass seed in a few spots.
More flowers are showing up, the hiya-cynths are coming up, these other little blue things are blooming (mum can't remember what she planted!) and the four-sithia, is almost ready to bloom too!
Plus she bought some seeds to start and a fancy thing to grow them in. But right now all of that is out in the metal monster room.
OK that is enough excitement for the morning. Time to nap!

Funky Fang Shui Friday
These are not real flowers so I doubt a bee would be in these flowers. Plus it is probably a little too early in the year for bees. It isn't that warm just yet, but mum has seen some flies flying around outside.

Daffy-dils
Mum spent lots of time working outside the past few nights, raking the grass and cutting the old plants down. Now she just has to take the stuff to the compost pile at the landfill. But other stuff is starting to get green too, daylillies and poppies.
Don't forget, the deadline to get your tickets for the CFHF Gizzy Quilt raffle is Friday. You wanna win this, you know it. But you can't win if you don't buy a ticket!

ManCat Monday
If the above quote is true then LillyLu, MuShue and Iris had 27 guardian angels watching over them. And those guardian angels did the trick. The kitties are alive and back with their mum. They were being checked on on Sunday evening by their vet and getting their medicines. I also think their were a few extra guardians of the Cat Blogosphere whose purring and purrayers worked overtime since Friday night. It is nice to have good news. You can read the details on the Cat Blogosphere.
CAT AUCTION AND RAFFLE BLOG FOR LAURA
Now we still are working to help out Laura whose apartment had heavy fire damage. There is a special blog for the various raffles and auctions. The raffle for the Gizzy Quilt is sponsored by CFHF, other items are other bloggers who are trying to help out. The above link will take you there and you can check things out.
This situation is also a reminder that we all need to have an emergency plan for situations like this. Who and what to grab and get out. Keeping copies of important papers in safe places and in more than one place, having insurance, even if you only rent! Having stickers on the doors to alert the firepeople that their are animals inside, how many and what kind.
Mum says she would grab me, her purse and maybe the puter. But I am first on the list, even the purse could be replaced and the stuff in it!
Now I have to rest today. My purrer is tired and I partied with the gang cellybrating as well. But it was nice to have something to be happy about, we weren't nearly so sure that this would have a happy ending when it started on Friday.
Deadline for entering CFHF Name the Kittie Logo Contest, ends Midnight New York time on April 15.

Heavy Heart
Most up to date information is posted on the Cat Blogosphere and if you want to help you can do so through the PayPal link on LillyLu's blog.
Otherwise my Saturday is quiet. Mum has been working with the sucking monster lots and she worked to make lots of confetti with old papers that she could throw out. But now my basket that I like to nap in with the confetti is totally empty! Mum does her best to keep me out of this anyway as she is worried I might use this as a litter box.
Eric and Flynn; and Gretchen; and Team Tabby have all tagged me for the book meme. Here are the rules.
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
I don't read books, just blogs so here is what mum is working on and she reads really heavy stuff, no easy romance novels for her!
The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11 by Lawrence Knight. Mum says it is good, better than she thought it would be, on how the Islamic fundamentalist movement got to where it is today.
In the mid seventh century, a group know as the Kharijites revolted even against the rule of Ali, the fourth caliph. The particular issue that triggered their rebellion was Ali's decision to compromise with a political opponent rather than to wage a fratricidal war. The Kharijites decreed that they were the only ones who followed the true tenets of faith, and that anyone who did not agree with them was an apostate, and that included even Ali, the Prophet's beloved son-in-law.
Whoa, that is deep, and I haven't a clue what they are talking about! Mum says they were discussing issues back the the early days about problems they had back then.
I think I am just going to go and curl up and purr some more for Laura and company.

Funky Fang Shui Friday
I am glad that it is warm enough that it is not snowing this week. Mum has been checking the rain gauge and so far this week we have had over 2 inches of rain. That on a normal conversion rate would have given us another 20 plus inches of snow. It is still raining, hard! Noah, if you are in the neighborhood please let me know. I want a place on your boat! The pictures of mum's work spot, she made sure you can't see anything really important. She had the 'puter screen locked, and the few things that might give something away she fudged the color on the picture. But yes she keeps a neat desk, but what you can't see is the big pile of stuff she needs to file. Better get at that mum! She says say that will get caught up today.
Mum says she likes what she is doing, but now that she knows what she is doing, she isn't getting home as early as she did last week. Says the department has been short staffed so lots of stuff to catch up on! Which is good because the more of stuff she does, the more comfortable she is with what she is doing!
Happy Weekend Everyone!

GONE
Also gone are the little white people on the top of the moving picture box. They go away when the white stuff outside goes away. Now my lizard has the top of the box to himself.
For a recap of all of the snows we got this past winter you can go to the following two spots. This first report shows the snow we got on March 21. We are just to the left and below the top 16 inch spot. From the second diagram you can see from this how much snow we got this winter. We are easily in the 110-120 inch color. They also include a map of what is "normal" for the winter, we are in the 40-50 inch range.
Then what also is gone is a birdie. Mum found fevvers clumped about near a feeder, so Mr Hawk must have been by for a snack today.
Here is a picture of mum's office. She took her camera into the office so that she can show Grampie the place she works in. Do you see my picture here? Yep that is me sitting on top of her computer thingy.

ManCat Monday
We kitties are good for your health! Here I was posing in a cute way to cheer up mum. This was taken a while back when she needed cheering. She was quite cheerful this weekend.
I think spring has decided to arrive. We actually have flowers! The crocus flowers have bloomed, on Saturday just one little flowere was open, on Sunday lots of them had opened, both purple and white.Mum worked on both Saturday and Sunday raking the front and side of the house, fluffing up the grass and pulling out some of the dead grass. Hopefully with some warm weather and a bit of rain it will be green soon.
Here is a picture of what snow we have left in the yard along the back of the house on Saturday morning. Mum won't rake the back yard until the snow is gone, maybe next weekend!
Below is what the same pile looked like on Sunday evening. You can see what disappeared during the day. It won't be quite so warm the next few days, but it may rain, which will help make the snow pile go away.
Mum rehung her sign about welcoming people to her garden, it fell off into the snow a few months ago. So to avoid losing it she had put it in a safe place in the metal monster room.
It was also nice enough over the weekend that while mum was working outside, in just tshirt and jeans, that she opened the window in her bedroom for me to sit in to get fresh air and watch the birdies. Ahhhh, it was so nice to sit and enjoy the wonderful days we had. It was in the low 60's F (15C)! Lots of the other neighbors were out too working in their yards and all of the little sticky things were out running around and playing outside too. Mum even got the grill out and cooked dinner Sunday on the grill.
I hope that all of you had wonderful weekends too! BTW mum and company had the first every board meeting for the Cat Friends Helping Friends group. WooHoo, that means things are moving along. Hopefully it will be an official charity real soon. Don't forget about name the kittie contest for the new logo.
