Here's to The Cat

Mum, as I have told you, goes out and plays with races cars. I have found out that there is a famous race track cat.

Here is a link to the story of Brian Redman's Cat! The club mum belongs to even has a race every summer called The Cat, just to honor this cat. Plus mum has met Brian Redman and says he is furry nice, as well as being 'cute' she says. One of her biggest memories is she got to ride in the pace car one time and Brian was the driver.

Plus mum has all sorts of pins that she has gotten for going to this race for many years and helping out. These pins just get put in a drawer and not the same drawer so mum found a few and took pictures. The past few years the pin show a kittie holding one of the flags that they use to signal the drivers.
This kittie is holding a black flag with a orange dot on it. Mum says if that gets waved at you when you are driving, something appears to be mechanically wrong with your car and come into the pits.
This kit has a blue flag with a yellow stripe, this is the pass flag. The means you better pay attention as someone faster is behind you. Mum says some drivers are oblivious to this.
This kittie is this years pins and is holding TWO yellow flags, which in her events, means full course caution, slow down, do not pass ANYWHERE on the track. They had many of these at this years event, maybe the pin was an omen. Some drivers here too don't seem to pay attention or feel it doesn't apply to them. That is OK, mum says they get penalized after the race is done for being stupid.
Here are all of the pins she could find on short notice, she knows she has more, just can't find them!

So let's hear it for Brian Redman's Cat. The bloodshot blur with fur.

  9. Thats a nice collection! It's great to come up with a way to display them. Our boys have a collection of hockey themed pins, and souvenir pins from all the places they've played.

  12. Those look like really nice pins. Maybe your mom can find them all and hang them on a piece of fabric so you can look at them all the time.
