The cat has too much spirit to have no heart - Ernest Menaul
I was practically abandoned this past weekend. Mum spent all sorts of time outside, pruning, trimming, and caring for the plants outside. The result of which is a huge pile of stuff that has to be taken away.
The daffs are blooming finally, the tulips are still coming Mum even found this bush that has nice soft catkins on them, pussy willows she calls them.
Virginger is hanging out in the front, keeping an eye on things, ready to greet any guest who happen to stop by.
I on the other hand am inside watching mum cook her dinner outside. Friday night she did chick-hen and I did get some. Sunday night she grilled brats for Grampie and herself. I was not allowed to have any of those.
Big purrs to MomRobyn who is having her knee fixed today and Miss Peach who is also having some work done Tuesday.
Your Mom is quite the gardener! Those are some beautiful flowers, and it was good to see Virginger again. I was wondering how he was doing.
ReplyDeleteThis seems to be a busy time for beans with plants. We loves pussy willows, we don't have any though. Maybe we should send Mom to fetch some. ~S,S,C & F
ReplyDeleteWow! Your Mom is quite dedicated. In Racine they said it was really windy which made it feel very cold outside so they weren't going out much yet!
ReplyDeleteOur mom puttered in the yard too, but there's not really much to do yet. Thanks for reminding mom she needs to get more propane for the grill!
ReplyDeleteLove your quote today!
We have piles of sticks like that too! We have no flowers, though. The unexpected freezy weather did a lot of things in. I think our lilacs have lived through that but they haven't popped yet. Soon!
ReplyDeleteOh poor thing, but at least you will have a lovely garden at the end of it all, and you did get chicken !!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs GJ xx
Our Beans have been working in the garden too and we helped them to dig holes.
ReplyDeleteSorry you felt abandoned this weekend, Derby. But your mum is doing all this work so you can both enjoy a lovely garden.
ReplyDeleteaah...Tommy says she wishes we had tulips! But she does say we have those little yellow flowers. I think your garden looks nice and you look like you want to explore from behind that door! :)

Spring is here and so are all the weeds sprouting up where they should not be. We did yard work at our house too.
ReplyDeleteOur beans need to do some gardening too but it is too rainy and wet outside. Mom says pussy willows kind of feel like kitty toes!
ReplyDeleteWe are glad we get ta go outside when The Big Thing is doin yard stuff. Its fun to watch an we can climb around pruned branches an stuff...
ReplyDeleteWe like your flower pictures!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that your flowers are doing well. Our freezing weather really nipped a bunch of flowers, but there are some survivors and they are a welcome sight.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see Vir-ginger is on duty already.
