ManCat Monday

Nothing falls asleep quite so easily as a cat - Desmond Morris

Except for a furry tired mum! So we are joining her in napping as much as possible for her, plus it keeps us out of her way! Friday everytime they came with a load of stuff, we got put into the sleepy room so we couldn't get outside and wouldn't get stepped on.
We have lots and lots of boxes. These boxes are ready to go off to a guy name Good Will. It is nice to give good people things, we don't want to give things to bad people. Mum already took one load off on Caturday afternoon to make a start on things. But we have lots more stuff.
Now that Uncle Flip is gone, he left Caturday AM to drive back to MaryLand in a hauling truck with some furniture in it. So mum moved this stuff into that room, all of this stuff is either clothes or stuff for the bed.
Here in mum's office we have lots of boxes of stuff. Books and stuff from his big desk. Mum says lots to go through. This is Grampie at his pack rat best.
Mum swapped out her kitchen table for Grampie's table and chairs. These chairs are padded so softer to nap on. Now mum needs to get someone to help her carry the old table off to that Will guy. Mum says next week she will ask her neighbor if he can help, he has a pick-em-up truck.
There is a new thing for us, mum took Grampies display case and put our little stuffed fluffies in it and put Virginger on top too. Hey, now our cat toys are harder to get at. That little red basket has extra toys in it.
A big plus too, is that no smooshed fingers or toes from the moving, no backs were thrown out. Mum and Uncle Flip had a helper guy from church and he was a BIG HELP with lifting and carrying.

Well there was one injury, but not from the moving part. When they came back to unload one time the neighbor's little woofie was here and wanted to run into our house. Mum tried to get him to go home, he would follow her across the street and when she would stop and turn around he came back. So she finally went to the back door to get the people to take him inside. Then he jumped up and scratched her.
Otherwise we had a quiet holiday, no loud booms nearby and mum was too tired to do the purrade or community fireworks.

  2. I am sorry that your Mom got scratched by the woofy, but very glad that there were no strains from moving stuff around. Your house is going to look a little different.

  4. Your Mum has had a big job with Grampie's stuff, and still has more to do, we see. Hope she can get some more rest and tackle it more slowly.
    Sorry about the woofie scratch!

  5. That's a huge job for your mum! Good Will is terrific for donations, though here they are very picky and sometimes won't take stuff out of season (like Xmas stuff in spring).

Good luck with the rest of the work!

  9. Phew! That is a lotta work for one weekend. And more to go. At least it's at your house and you two can help your Mum with all the sorting and boxing.

Purrs for your Mum's arm and make sure you guys get some lap time which will make her rest.

  13. We're glad to hear your grampie is better. Hooray!

Doesn't sound like you or your mum had a very relaxing weekend, though. Friday we were trapped like rats, too, but in our case we had electricians here all day!

  15. Yet another reason the cat is superior to the dog. Just sayin'... :-)

  16. Hopefully, the worst is over. Still lots to do, though. Hope your mom can slow down a bit now and not have to rush to go through everything.
