Water, Water and More Water

Things seem to be pretty much back to normal here. Mum kept Ducky and I confined to her sleepy room for a whole day. Once she came home from day hunting we could hear her in the dungeon, then she came to let us out. We both went down to check things out but not much to see.
Yay, we are out of confinement, time to asplore the house and see what happened.
Wet feetprints by mum, this is where our litter boxes normally are so there is litter and litter dust that made it the icky spot of the dungeon floor.
Still a few wet spots, you can see the dirty spot in the corner.
Mum running the fan to dry off the floor, it is improving in this side of the dungeon.
This is the other side, mum says it is the workroom, it still has a bit of a puddle and she shut to door to keep us out. Plus she moved the one of the fans in here to keep the air moving.
It is more wet on the floor, not deep. Oh, someone says they don't know what a dungeon is, mum says some beans call it a basement. Mum just had to sweep/mop the water towards the floor drain. After the storm let up the pumper caught up and things settled down.

Compared to some areas in Milwaukee County, we had it pretty good. We had a little water on the floor, but it was not contaminated with sewage. Some people had whole basements full of sewage and water, streets flooded to 3-6 feet deep.

Here is a video that mum went out tonight to shoot. The gang at The Katnip Lounge wanted to know if the waterfall was working again. Yes it is, at least for now. Plus the parking lot where she and Grampie go to see the doctor, half of the parking lot is flooded and one poor person didn't get their car out!

  3. That seems like quite a lot of extra work for your Mum to do. Glad it wasn't any sewage too. We could actually use a little more rain around here. We did have some yesterday, and there was even a tornado warning, but it passed.

Here's hopes for a sunny weekend for you!

  4. Thanks for posting the video! My gosh, that is a LOT of water...those flume gates were wide open!
Mommy works in water treatment and she's always interested in water-related stuff. You can imagine how she feels about Hoover Dam.
We're happy you had only a little water in your dungeon and that you were able to make a tour of inspection later in the day. We hate not being able to investigate stuff.

  6. We hope you get dried out soon! When we had water in our basement we got a dehumidifier to help get all the moisture out. Flooding is scary!

  7. We are quite glad you are alright and that nothing was really damaged--although it did get wet. Your poor poor litter boxes!

  10. Wow! We just looked at your pics of your road all flooded, you certainly did have a lot of water!!!
Sometimes there are floods in parts of the UK and when that happens my humans always say they are glad we live on top of a hill. We are not likely to get flooded. I really hope your dungeon dries out soon!

  11. What a lot of water! The Human has lots of relatives in Milwaukee--she needs to call them and make sure they are not all covered up with the water! We hope you are all dried out very soon.
