Now the Duck is in REAL Trouble

Yep, he really screwed up now. This Wednesday AM, mum was getting her breakfast and mine when we heard a big crash. We don't know how he did it but he knocked over the big and NEW TV.

Mum just got this last Wednesday late afternoon, spending some of her hard earned green papers. It still works OK, but if you look in the above picture below and to the right of Ducky's face you will see a white mark. So the screen has a scratch on it. That isn't a flaw in the photo. Mum was really upset, but she is happy it works OK. Now she has to figure out how to anchor it so he can't do this again.
Hey, it's Ducky. I didn't mean to make the crash. The old picture box was bigger, wider and I could jump on it. I didn't know my own strength here. Plus if mum hadn't had her fake, ceramic pumkins sitting there it wouldn't have scratched. The scratch came from the pumpkin thingy.

Plus if the picture box is working you can't really see it much, it is down in the corner! I will be OK, at least it still works!!!

Plus mum isn't watching much anyway, she has a pile of Christmouse cards to work on. She has to do both her and Grampie's. She spent most of last evening doing them and needs to work on them now too. Guess we better go snoopervise some more. What a mess on the table, it should be cleared off soon.

  1. They make furniture anchors for child-proofing. That might work. Good luck!!

  2. I am so relieved you weren't hurt, Ducky! Your human needs to bolt that silly thing down to keep you safe!

  3. We have ours attached to the wall stud behind the TV, for that very reason.

  4. Glad you weren't injured, Ducky. Accidents happen. We have all of our things secured to the walls because we live in earthquake country.

  5. Yikes, we would be in so much trouble if we did that. Glad the TV still works and Ducky wasn't hurt.

  6. We know yoo didn't do it on purpose so it doesn'r count as being norty. Norty is when yoo CHOOSE to do sumfin, NOT when it's an accident. We're sorry abowt yoor mom's TV though.

  7. Oh my goodness--the Male is thinking about getting a flat screen television this month too and so we had better think about a way to anchor it! Otherwise some cat may knock ours over (and I doubt the Male is as forgiving as your Mum). We are very glad it still works for your mum.

  8. Aw, sweet Ducky, we know you didn't do it on purpose. So far we haven't bothered mama's, but we are seniors so don't do as much cavorting around as you youngsters do.

We see your mom has gotten several suggestions, so we hope Ducky won't get in trouble again.

  9. OMC! We're not allowed anywhere near the picture box. If we did that we would be deaded. You have a very understanding mum!

  10. YIKES! We're glad that Ducky and the TV are OK...except for the scratch. Daddy wall-mounted our TV for that very reason...there must be some way to secure the screen to the wall behind it.

  14. Those tvs can be pretty tippy when they are free-standing.
We know you didn't mean it. How would you know that this tv was any different from the old one? A tv is a tv to us cats!

  15. Glad you didn't get hurt, Ducky.

We didn't see the scratch you put on the viewing panel, but we did see the "Live Action Radar".

Have a warm and snuggly weekend. And, stay off the tv. :)

  19. Uh, oh. It is upsetting for humans when NEW things get banged up. I guess it didn't seem that much different from the previous tv to you, Ducky. Is there a way to attach and eye ring to the wall and put some wire through it and connected to the back of the tv? Or some child proofing gizmo like Lone Star Purrs suggest. If it is any consolation, Dad accidentally lowered the garage door when the back hatch of our brand new car was up ............. $350 worth of repairs.

  20. Uhoh!!! Our mom and dad were thinking about getting one of those TVs, but mom fears we'd do the same thing.

  22. Oh Ducky! We know you didn't mean to hurt the TV. We hope your mom can figure out how to bolt it down so it doesn't happen again.

Now our mom is gonna bolt ours down too!!

  23. Uh oh, Ducky!

Our mom got a small flat panel last year and it just fit into the place where the last fat one lived. But she knew we'd be knocking it over at the first opportunity, so she made some sort of thing for the back of it (attached where a wall mount would go) so it can't fall forward. It probably wouldn't work for your mum because yours is set up differently, but we just wanted to let you know we totally get your attraction to it!
