Yep, me, Derby in the PTU (Prisoner Transport Unit). Mum kept saying the past couple of days we would be off to visit the doctor. I though it was for her, not me! Just my annual checkup, nothing wrong. But before we left we both got a bit of tuna but she
slipped me a mickey!
So I wasn't walking furry good and mum had me go into the PTU, I just curled up. I talked all the way to the stabby place and once we got inside I started to growl and hiss as usual.

Mum just giving me a little love, can you see my eye is all wonky here? The VET man came in, I got my shot and then I hopped down on the floor. But they got me back up on the table and was able to give me the once over. Said I am looking good, ears OK, teeth not bad. Great fighting weight of 12.9 pounds, down a bit from last year. Come back in another year. See ya.
So I am home, sleeping it off in the back room.
Note from mum: Last year at Derby's checkup he was
very aggressive. The vet was lucky to get him his shots and that was about it for the session. So this year I asked if there was something he could get to take the edge off before we got there. So the Vet prescribed some
Acepromazine and that seemed to do the trick. While Derby was still a bit feisty, growling and hissing, the vet could at least get a good look at him.
It worked pretty quickly, within a half hour his third eyelid was showing and he was walking a bit funny. The bad thing is that it will take 6 hours or so to really work itself out of his systems. But for the once a year we need to do this, I am OK with it.
Now we can all relax for the weekend.
