The Dare #4

Karl of The Cat Realm's newest dare is where we got to put in suggestions as to The Dare. Well the best dare has been voted on and it is from Mr Chen.

Mr. Chen
dares you all to come up with one creative, fun, useful way to save the environment and put a picture of yourself doing it on your blog!

So what do we do, we recycle! I am even recycled! Here I am in our old recycling bin, it was empty except for me. Why do I consider myself recycled? Well this is my second home. I was wasn't just thrown away, I was sent to the shelter to be recycled to a new home. So now I live with mum, living a good life, being reused as a loving companion.
Recently where we live decided to help us do more to recycle, we got these huge carts to use to put our recycling in and they pick up every other week. Plus mum doesn't put the cart out until it is full. Then the truck can drive by our house and not waste energy just putting a little bit of stuff in the truck.
Here is the big cart sitting in the metal monster room. Mum had to move stuff around to make enough space for it.
See it says recycling only on top, plus they now let us put more types of plastic in this to be recycled. We can do number 1-7 plastics, but not the plastic bags. But the bags go back to the store if we get too many.
There is me, the recycled kittie checking out the recycled stuff, bottles, plastic, glass, cans, paper and boxes. It is almost full, so mum will put the cart out next week on Thursday for pickup.

Can you do this dare? I dare ya too!

  1. Recycled Derby? We're so glad you found your home! We do some recycling but probably not as much as you. We repurpose lots of stuff too. We also buy in bulk as much as possible to reduce all that packaging. That really drives Mom nuts.

  5. Hi Derby, I am going to all the blogs on our list to let you know that we are deleting "Les Trois Chats." Momma is too busy to let us blog anymore - she has had a hard time blogging for herself even. We are actually now Les Quatre Chats anyway as we added LOLA in June, who is a POOP and has put me to shame as the alpha cat around here... even though, yes, she's a GIRL. (I know, SO emasculating! I need a treat or twenty to comfort me...)

We so enjoyed our time with all of you. Au revoir, les amis,

ps Mom will welcome any emails from friends who have our address!

  10. Hi Derby! I think you look great in that red box. Remember, I have a picture of myself in a red box too! I guess that's one way I recycle... I don't let the woman take any boxes to the recylcing bin until I've sat in them for a good, long time.

  12. We're glad you got recycled into a blogging cat Derby.
Recycling was brought in where we live about 3 years ago. We separate things into 3 big bins like yours. One is for cans and plastic, one is for paper and cardboard and the other is for all the yucky stuff that can't be recycled. We can take other stuff like bottles and old clothes etc. to the recycling banks at the supermarkets.

  13. We're glad you got recycled into such a great forever home. Mama is a little bit jealous of your giant recycling cans. We only have a little orange tub and we fill it way past the brim every week.

    Love,

  16. Good one, Derby. I am a recycled kitty too :), only that I re-cycled myself. I was an abandoned stray who decided to stay with SS's family and never left over 10 years ago.
