Bye Bye Birdies

Two of four baby robins have flown away. Mum almost got to see them fly. Mum came home and went out to check on them, then came back in for the flashy box with the zoomer lens. Please biggify the pictures for your enjoyment.
Two of them sitting on the downspout of the rain drainer.
Then mum walked the long way around the lilac bush and grapevine to get some pictures from the other side.
Ready for their closeup and one of the two who is still in the nest.
Mum then walked back around the bushes and, the two were gone! They went in the little bit of time it took mum to walk back around. She sort of watched to see if they were hiding nearby, but didn't see them. Did see the parents come back to feed the last two.
You can just see the head of one who is left. Maybe the other two will go bye bye tomorrow or Sunday.

It has been so cool to watch this and to share it with you.

  2. That is so neat! It's amazing that one moment they're there, then GONE!
We wonder with Simba if there will be another brood. That would be fantastic!

  3. Mum looked it up, robins do 2 or three broods per season. But they don't usually reuse the nest! So they may go hide in a tree for the next one.

  8. Even though we are cats, we have respect for life and are glad that the robinlets/robinlings have fledged safely. There is always a need for more programming on Kitty TV!
