Mum got organized over this past weekend to try out these new treats. She got out the stuff from cupboard.
Measured the stuff and mixed it all together.
Dumping in the tuna and then used her hands to moosh it all together.
Used a roller thingy to make the mooshie ball into a flat moosh, the took the cutter thingy and made lots of small pieces.
Put them on a sheet and then into the hot-as-hell box.
Left side cooked, right side ready to go into the hot-as-hell box.
Here is the finished product, and how much it made.
They are OK, if mum puts them out we eat them, but we like our other treats better.
Mum here. I will try them again but do a few things different. First mix the tuna and water together first and get the tuna more broken up then mix with the dry ingredients. So the tuna chunks and flavor are in every piece. Also start with 3/4 cup of the flour and corn meal. Then add just enough of more of the flour/corn meal to make a good dough. Seems too heavy of dough. Also cut in smaller pieces, I was aiming for 1/4 to 1/2 inch size, really should be 1/8 to 1/4 inch size.
Wow, we're impressed!! Our Mom doesn't even bake people cookies!!

Mommy says this made her feel a little guilty fur not trying this befur. (we'd rather haf Temptashuns)
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to get my human to make kitty cookies for a long time now! Maybe this will help motivate her.
ReplyDeleteOur Mom didn't even realize this was possible! Maybe kitty tuna would be richer? Where did your Mum buy the mix?
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look very tasty but we think mum will stick with buying them.
ReplyDeleteGive your mom extra credit for experimenting. Pretty soon she'll be so good at making them to your palate, you'll be begging for them.
ReplyDeleteWow, you haf a furry neat Mommy.
ReplyDeleteI still fink I'd rather haf Temptations, but would love to haf someone baking treats fur me (hint hint hint)!
And like the Funny Farmers said, iffen she experiments, she's bound to discover you's favorite treats.
Oh, maybe she'll share those wif us!

We always give full credit to a human staff who tries to make the cats happier! That's a good first effort, and we're sure your next try will be even tastier.
ReplyDeleteThat was a good kitchen experiment! And you are handsome posed next to the container Derby!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome of your Mom to try baking kitty treats. Mom does the next best thing for me when she found pre-made fresh treats.
ReplyDeleteOur mom isn't much of a cook...she'd burn water! Haha! It was nice of your mom to make you some healthy treats.
ReplyDeleteWe gotta give credit to Beins who even TRY stuff like that! And in fact our "treats" are regular Eukanuba chicken kibble.
ReplyDeleteBut TBT says he may try this. He has a suggestion though. His immersion (wand-style) blender has a separate 1 cup attachment for blending small amounts of solid stuff. He usually uses that for making a garlic/ginger/onion/soy sauce paste for marinating meats, but thinks it would work great on the tuna.
A question. How long does this stuff stay edible? Does it need refrigeration? Can it be frozen?
