Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday with Viringer and Glimmer.

This week we made sure mum got the time for posting correct. She can't log in from day hunting to fix.

Mum was bizzy this week with our own flower beds. She went and got 12 bags of mulch on Caturday, then 8 more on Sunday. She spread it out in the beds next to the house to help keep the weeds down and show off the real plants.

The Caturday load, she had the whole back of the metal monster full of mulch. This is about as much as she could get in.
All 12 bags laid out in the front ready for mum to open them up and spread the stuff around.
Six bags done and half way through the bed, Mum laid it on really thick and heavy to protect the new plants. Which all of them are showing new leaf growth! That makes mum happy.

Here are two of the plants, showing the new leaf growth and before mum got the mulch put in place.

Ducky watching from inside, making sure mum wasn't goofing off. Trust me, she wasn't goofing off!
Glimmer here, she even made it to the back of the house, did some on Caturday and the rest on Sunday.
Dirty fingers mum! She hates to wear gloves while she does this stuff.
Hi mum, I will sit by you as you rest. Take a short break and then finish up.
She  took down the oriole feeder and got that all cleaned up too. It was looking rather grungy.
Sunday she put down weed barrier and then lots of mulch. Now she won't have to try to get the grass eater in between the grape arbor and the down spout! At which point she knocks the downspout off!
Most of the weeding done, mulch down.
Here is a one of a couple of big piles of weeds she pulled. They were sort of taking over a few spots, glad she got them all pulled.
So lots happened this last week. Mum is happy to rest up her back from all the lifting.

See you next week. Love, Virginger and Glimmer.

Oh Yeah, something about Feetsball starting tonight with The Packers. Go Pack!

  1. That looks like a lot of work moving and lifting and lugging and pulling. Good effort.

  2. That is a lot of mulch! The last time the head peep bought mulch, the store thought she had bought more than would fit in the car, but it all fit in one load....barely.

  7. That's a lot of work for your mum! Every spring our peeps go through about 10-12 yards of mulch spreading it all around.
