Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur. We are actually getting a few days that are nice and in a row. Warmish and no rain. That means mum can use the monster to cut the grass today.

Most of our spring flowers like the two-lips and such are all gone for the year. So now we wait for the summer flowers to come. While mum was weeding early this week she saw the poppy in the front doing really well. It has 8 flower buds to come! Woohoo. Can't wait to see them.
What is most common right now is the ally-ums (allium), little spiky like balls of purple, although we do have a few white ones as well.
Mum mad sure to hang out our patriotic door wreath. It has lots of jingle balls on it, so when mum opens the door, we hear it. This will stay out until after July 4.
When mum went visiting the other day she said the pee-o-knees were in full bloom there. Just two hours away from us. So ours should be opening up soon. We have lots of flower buds on these guys too.

That is all for this week. See you soon. Love, Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

  4. Every time we hear the word Pee-OH-knees we hafta laff at the story our mom was told by a friend, visiting relatives in MinneSOHtah:

She overheard a family member with a VERY minnesotan/North Dakotan accent say:

"Gramma! Your panties are LOADED!" (he ACTUALLY said PEONIES. It just SOUNDED like panties. MOL!!!)
