Wonderful Wordy Wednesday

I woke up around 4 AM Wednesday and remembered I hadn't really finished this post. I rolled over until it was really time to get up before fixing this!

Also at that time Ducky was snoozing on my pillow just above my head. He was framed in the moonlight that was coming in the window. No pics as that wouldn't have come through at all.

Fall has arrived, along with more fall like weather. We actually had some rain this week, so the grass is not as crunchy and a little bit green.

Last Wednesday of September too. Plus it would have been my Dad's 109th birthday. Happy Birthday inn heaven.

Three months to Christmas!

Find More Birds I am a backyard bird watcher. I participate every winter in Project Feeder Watch which is run through Cornell University. Figure it didn't hurt to see what I could learn to do above and beyond what I already was doing. Author works with Cornell and the College of Ornithology. All the pictures in the book are hers and some of them are finds in the heart of Brooklyn.

Fatherland is a memoir / history of the author's maternal grandfather. During World War II he was assigned to teach in the occupied area of Alsace France. As the author searches to find if his grandfather was a hard liner Nazi or did he use his position to shield the residents from the worst of the mess of the party. Very interesting book.

Making It So is Patrick Stewart's memoir of his life. Most of those in the United States know him best from being in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Early career he was best known in Britain for his Shakespeare works.

Happy Reading.

  2. I could tell Stewart was Shakespearian. There is a certain voice that shows it. And it worked perfectly in Star Trek:TNG. A confidence on The Bridge and a commanding presence. A difference from Kirk.

  3. Birds are cool! There was a movie with Steve Martin, Jack Black and Owen Wilson named "The Big Year", all about birding. I read the book is was based on, and it was great stuff.
