ManCat Monday

No workman can guild a door which shall be proof against a cat or a lover. - French Saying

We had a good weekend. Lots of noms and naps, some open windows for fresh airs, cuddles from mum. We had to snoopervise her on Caturday for moving all sorts of stuff around in the dungeon. She got all dirty, but cleaned up ok, then was all tired so went to bed early on Caturday night.

We watched the sailing and are furry bummed out that our team, New Zealand's Kiwi's haven't closed this out. They didn't race on Caturday and Sunday Larry E's team won both races. Kiwi's just need one win to take the cup, Larry four. Go Kiwi's we don't want Larry E's team to win!

Feetsball Report

The Pack - It was an ugly game and the Pack ended up on the short end of the score playing the Bengals. Mum said she figured it wasn't going to be a good day for the team. More players banged up, they get next week off.

The Broncos  - Mr Peyton doesn't play until Monday night.

Caturday

Mummy got her newer flashy box going again, needed a battery, so she has been going nuts with using it. ::sigh:: No escaping her, even in her litter box room. Thankfully she didn't get any shots with her in the mirror. We wouldn't wish that on anyone! MOL.
Super nice coolish day, we all will be napping. Even Virginger is inside for a visit.
Have a good weekend every one.

Meow Like a Pirate Day

Ahoy all our fellow pirates! We be happy to be sailing again this year on a new vessel for us. We decided we needed to take over a CATamaran! And not just any CATamaran, but taking over Team New Zealand's state of the art America's Cup racer.

We may have to let them have it for an hour or so for the race this afternoon. We want the Kiwi's to win! They only have to win one more race to take the cup back to New Zealand.

So join us, Captain Derby, First Mate Ducky and First Wench Dora on our journey.

Mini ManCat Monday

Of course cats are smarter than dogs - it takes intelligence to be that devious! - Author Unknown

Devious? Not us! Maybe mischievious, envious, impervious or even oblivious, but not devious.

Derby is on mum's short list of, bad kitties! See he yakked on the bed blankie last week and mum got it all washed and smelling nice on Sunday. No sooner than she got it back on the bed, he did it again! Mum was not happy and then washed it again. See how long it takes him to mess it up again.

Then mum needed an extra pillow for her to balance her lunch on her lap during the game. She moved it and guess what she found. A deaded mousie. We are not saying how long it has been there, but mum is surprized, usually when a mouse is deaded we leave it in the middle of the floor for her to find.
She used the rug sucking monster on Caturday, but didn't move these pillows! That will show her. She thinks it was there a day or so as it was all stiff.

Yeah, whatever, we just took Sunday off. Rainy day and cool, we needed rain. We snoozed lots and watched the rain fall.

Feetsball Report

The Packers - they beat down on the Washington Sunburns. Kept them scoreless for the first half and did well on both offense and defense.

The Broncos - battle of the brothers Manning, Peyton and Eli. Big brother Peyton's team got the better of Eli's. Peyton had two TD's and no interceptions, while we swearsies that Eli was better at throwing it to the defense, as he did it 4 times.

Have a good week everyone.

Introducing............

Shine little glow-cat, glimmer, glimmer
Shine little glow-cat, glimmer, glimmer
Lead us lest too far we wander
Love's sweet voice is callin' yonder
Shine little glow-cat, glimmer, glimmer
Hey, there don't get dimmer, dimmer
Light the path below, above
And lead us on to love
*

TADA.... It's Glimmer!

See, she shines in the dark. Eyes and the swirl on the blue ball. We know it it hard to tell, but this is the bestest picture mum got Biggify and maybe look at the picture in a darkish room.

And Glimmer is a she, so she and Virginger now have the same number as us mancats.

* Iffin' you want to hear the original whole song by The Mills Brothers, click here.  (Original words by Lilla Cayley Robinson, modern words by Johnny Mercer and Music by Paul Lincke) Mum changed one word.

Patriot Day

We give today's post to honor all those who gave their lives because of what happened 12 years ago. We sent mum to out to take pictures of a nearby memorial to that day. They have a part of a beam from one of the towers.

ManCat Monday

If humans are so smart and cats are "dumb animals", how come we work whilst cats doze in the sunshine? - Author Unknown

Well our beans have to work to keep us in noms, toys and treats! If they depended on us to get us there foods and such, well, most of them would be eating bugs, mousies and other fine delicacies.

Feetsball Report

That time of the year again as we spend part of most Sunday's watching feetsball with mum.  Our favorite team is of course the Green Bay Packers! Over the weeks to come we will share the highs and lows of the season. Culminating in the Stouper Bowl early next year.

First, Grampa Brett is still retired. Just to get that out of the way for this season.

The Pack - came out on the short end of the score with the gold digging 49ers'. But they played better than they did against them in the playoff game last January. So while they didn't win, they didn't embarrass themselves or their fans.

The Bronco's  - they opened up the season last Thursday with a record breaking purrformance by Mr. P. Manning, who threw 7 touchdowns in the game. They beat the reigning Stouper Bowl champs The Ravens.

 Just chillin'.

 More chillin'.
Derby hanging next to mum to soak up some loves from her. He gets first crack at her today.

Soak up loves from your beans today too! Happy Caturday.

Garden Thursday

::MEOW::

I am not so sure about mum, she almost forgotted to help me with my garden post. Said it wasn't Thursday yet. Then I reminded her that she too Monday off and her brain isn't counting the days correctly. ::sigh:: What's a cat or squillion going to do when their bean's brain is gone.

Plus, I really don't have anything new! Well I do have one new picture. This one of naked ladies! Yep! I said NAKED! No, not mum. We wouldn't want to inflict that on anyone! MOL.
The next door lady calls them naked ladies. The green leaves come up in the spring and then die back. The the flowers show up on late August or early September. Mum says they are also called resurrection lilies.

We have been discussing a name for our new addition. We think we have a cool name and a good reason to choose that name. But we aren't telling just yet. Mum says she wants to get a picture to prove the name, if she can.

So that is all for this week. Love, Virginger.

Mini ManCat Monday

A neighbour's cat, sitting on the wall, waiting to be stroked, brightens up an otherwise miserable walk to work. - Author Unknown

HiYa, Ducky here. Happy Mancat Monday hollyday to all of our Merikcy furiends. Enjoy the day.

Well, mum managed to not work herself too hard on Caturday. She had a nice long nap with in the afternoon. Plus she got all of her chores done, so today she can chillax' with me and Derby.

When I told you she was off to the garden store on Caturday, I did not expect her to come home with an addition to the family. Yep, she adopted another kitteh! Said he was all lonely so just had to bring him home. He was the only kitteh there. Looks a bit underfed to me.

Mum hasn't decided on a name yet. Skinny, Scrawny, Iron Legs??? We will let you know when mum figures it out.
Plus on Sunday she came home from the food store with what she says are Mountain Lions from Colorado. Says these are the best peaches and the ones she amembers from when she was a little wafer.

Caturday

HiYa, Ducky here. Welcome to a holiday weekend edition of Caturday. Mum gets an extra day to do her chores this weekend.

Chores, oh yes. Already today she has done the following:

ate some brekkie
gave us our brekkie
readed two newsy papers
made more hummingbird juice
refilled the hummer feeder
hung out a new fevver feeder
filled all of the fevver feeders
checked the grapes for getting ripe - nope, not even starting to turn purple
cleaned her litterbox
paid Mr Bill, actually two of them
filled away lots of papers in the filing cabinet
cleaned up Derby's yak spots on the carpet.
washed a few dishes
put the rest of the dishes in the dish washing monster
PHEW!

Plus last night she was the first purrson to order the new CB calendar. One of the first test batch to see how this goes. So soon we can check it out. Mum says we are both in it and on days special to us.

Me holding mum down for at least a few minutes of resting.
Derby day dreaming out of the window.

Now she is about ready to get out the rug sucking monster and then off to get some stuff from the garden store. She is trying to stay away from place where these two-wheeled noisy monster are roaming the area, doesn't want to get tangled up with them. Something about a motorcycle being 110.

Then over the next few days, the typical washy of clothes, getting foods and doing some cooking so she has foods to take to work. Plus she says she is not going day hunting on Monday and will stay home with us.

Garden Thursday

::MEOW::

Hello Virginger here. Not much to report this week. Mum has been bizzy and we have had the hots. So she is not doing much outside in the yard.
But the grapes are growing. They haven't started to turn purple yet. When they do, mum has to call her furiend who wants to make jelly from the grapes. Soon mum says.

So that it all.

Love, Virginger

Here and Gone!

It was a flying visit for our buddy Miles Meezer. Mum is so laid back with kitties that he got to do stuff he can't do at home.

The visit started with a thud, when the bloo shorts guy dropped Miles off, just after dawn on Monday. We had to get mum up and get him inside and out of the box. He got to stretch his legs and make a pit stop.

We had drinks and dinner, mum whipped up some really delish blue tuna gizzy's. They were purrfecto, strong enuf but not too strong.Plus she allowed us to use the fancy glasses! These were her mum's good glasses for fancy dinners, she figured it was a good time to break them out and use them for company. Just like her mum used to do.
Dinner was ham, with Miles we know we can't go wrong with ham. He was very appreciative of the good ham mum got. Plus mum made sure to make him some french toast before he left too.

Mum loves to cater to visitor requests, making sure they have foods they like and such. Then once mum left to day hunt we were free to do what we wanted. Yep, that included walking on the ceiling. Ducky just had to watch. But Miles brought along his velcro boots and I dug mine out of the dungeon. Gosh that was fun, but not as good with the triple flip dismount that I used to do.

Plus Miles got to visit the little plushie he sent me years ago. It was named after Trixie and Norton, some cats who came before him.

So all too soon Miles visit was over. Back in his box and on his way to Mew Mexico.

So we will be resting and napping lots today to get all rested up from the fun we had with Miles. Stop in again, bring Sammy, Billy and Nicky with you!

ManCat Monday

It is a very inconvenient habit of kittens (Alice had once made the remark) that, whatever you say to them they always purr.  - Lewis Carroll

Yep, we purr, Ducky usually more than I do. However, the other night mum was working on the puter and I laid down next to here and started purring. Loudly. She thought it was Ducky until she really looked.
Yes, mum, still watching and waiting for our visitor.
We are all prepared, although a few other fureinds have dropped by to get some of our snacks! Not to worry, mum has a good supply.
