Mr. Bee

Mum heard some buzzing and saw me pawing at the screen of the big window that goes to the floor. So she walked over and found that a bee had gotten on the inside of the screen.
She was very brave and managed to get him on the outside of the screen without letting me out of the house! But then the silly bee, instead of flying away just sat and flew between the big hard window things. The outside was just a few inches away, but it took him an hour to find it's way out. Silly bee, I know how to get outside, just that mum won't let me get there.

  1. Derby, if our counter said 10,000 for you too then we will send you a prize too. Sometimes 2 people end up visiting at about the same time and the counter doesn't advance right away. Please have your Mommy send our Mommy your snail mail address and we will send you a prize. Our email is in our profile. Concatulations and fanks for being our furriend and visiting us!

  2. My human pet would have freaked out if she saw that bee! We have had wasps come in before, and she always manages to make it ten times worse by yelling, screaming, and crying. I think she's bugophobic. (It also might explain why Isis is so crazy!)

  3. Congrajulayshuns on being 10,000 with me, Derbs!

I added your blog to my links today. I would have done it sooner, but I just figured out how to do the links!

  4. hi, derby! you DO have a brave mom--ours woulda done almost anything to avoid meeting a bee or those other nasty stinger things. they are pretty dumb critters, so i guess we should feel sorry for them.

and, no, nobody got hurt in the storm. thanks for asking--it WAS scary! the people who decide things for the city decided they would send around trucks to pick up the leafy tree arms, but they can't take our wood--it will keep us warm!

  5. I think that bee brains are much much tinier than cat brains and that's why they just don't get it when they're free to fly away. I'm sure glad I've got a cat brain and not a bee brain! I mean, you never see a bee blog, do you?

  6. Yeah they have teeny tiny brains. Mom always tries to trap a bee in a cup then slide a paper over it to release it outdoors. She says they squish messily. Your mom could get an outside job as an insect photographer. Just don't get stung!

  7. A couple weeks ago, thank goodness I happened to be in the kitchen! This big black wasp had somehow gotten inside the sliding glass door and Emma and Benji both immediately went for it. Trying to swat at it! I was certain they would get stung! So I hurried and picked up Benji and pulled Emma away and told her no! Then I got a cup quick and scooted him near the open door and out he/she went! Phewww!

  9. She was REALLY brave! Meowmy had a bee ON her on Saturday and she had a serious melt down. The Chip Man had to get it off of her. I think she stopped breathing she was so scared.

Have you ever eaten a bee? Kaze and I really wanted to eat the dead bee, it looked tasty! Stupid meowmy wouldn't let us.....

You are so lucky to have a great brave human pet!

  10. I think cats are smarter than bees in general. I mean, where would they pack all the brain mass?

  14. My mum is very good at removing bees, moths, bugs and things that get inside and can't get out through the window. She has this technique with a bowl and a card that only takes 3 seconds, she has got it down to a fine art. UNLESS the bug in question is a spider or a daddy-long-legs. Then she freaks out and yells for my dad!

  15. Fat Eric- My lady hates spidurs too! She wont let us play with them EVER. Instead she screems, gets her smelly shoo, skweshus it and then puts the blak mashene to her ear and tawks outlowd.
