Mini-ManCat Monday

First, thank for all the purrday wishes last week. Mum gave me both ham and chick-hen as treats to eat.

First we want to send comforting purrs to Miss Julie, Poppy Q's mum in New Zealand. Poppy ran off to The Bridge this weekend. What I think is interesting is that I think her spirit came here and helped a NZ driver win the CrashCar race on Sunday. His first ever CrashCar race too!

So while mum watched the racy cars she worked on hats, hats and more hats!

Now, let's get this party started! What party? Well Mericky's purrthday party!

Happy Purrthday America. I don't have enuf paws to count how old the USA is but mum says it is lots and lots of years, 247 by her calculations.

Mum joins me in wishing all of you Mericky kitties and your humans a good day. Safe and hopefully not too noisy with the fireworks. Cellybrate but do so safely. Me and mum will watch the moving picture box, fireworks and other holly-day stuff from the safety of our home.

Me and mum have been staying home and inside cuz the weather and air outside hasn't been good. Mum doesn't want either of us breathing that icky air. One day last week we were in the hazardous area (we are the blue dot on the right side of the pink blob), the newsy people said our area was the worst area in the WORLD that day. It has improved greatly from last week.

Mum ordered these special fireworks as usual, in that they don't make booms to scare kitties. They are pretty but won't scare you. Mum skips the local fireworks, says the people just get crazy. She watches the stuff on the moving picture box, no driving, no crowds and the noise isn't so bad that it scares me.

Now to honor America, please join in and sing a few songs with us. Sing them from your heart.

God, bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, And guide her
Through the night with a light from above. From the mountains To the prairies To the oceans white with foam, God, bless America, My home, sweet home.God bless America Land that I love
Stand beside her
And guide her
Through the night with a light from above
From the mountains
To the prairies To the oceans white with foam
God bless America

My home sweet home
God bless America....

My home sweet home!

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!

America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self the country loved
And mercy more than life!

America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for halcyon skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the enameled plain!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till souls wax fair as earth and air
And music-hearted sea!

O beautiful for pilgrims feet,
Whose stem impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till paths be wrought through
wilds of thought
By pilgrim foot and knee!

O beautiful for glory-tale
Of liberating strife
When once and twice,
for man's avail
Men lavished precious life!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till selfish gain no longer stain
The banner of the free!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
Till nobler men keep once again
Thy whiter jubilee!

  1. We watched the Chicago race too; it was very exciting.
The Hubby and I have been inside a lot too; the bad air was awful, and I'm always looking at the AirNow site to see if any of the smoke is coming back!

  3. I watch F! when it is on, and this week it was a total farce with all the penalties given out. I have watched it since the 70s, but I am very close to turning my back on it.
