ManCat Monday

A cat has absolute emotional honesty - an attribute not often found in humans. Human beings, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not. - Ernest Hemingway

Mum says it was a crappity-crap-crap weekend. While Caturday AM was nice, it then got cool. Very cool and not in a good way. When mum got up on Sunday she felt the house was so damp and cool she turned on the heaty monster for a bit. Later when it got sunny she opened a window a little bit and decided to close it really quick!

So we were home and snuggled. Mum cleaned a bit, did the washing bit, cooked a bit, readed her book. Otherwise we just hung out.

Mum has a bizzy week again, library stuff, garden stuff and who knows what other kinds of stuff.
Have a wonderful week gang.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy Caturday. It is starting off really nice here. Sunshine, gentle breezes. Mum got up and opened a few more windows. We can hear the fevvers singing too!

Mum left be alone yesterday for a pretty long time. She left early and didn't get home til almost dark. She went to play with racy cars for just one day. She had an OK day, but said she got wet cuz it rained up there. A few sprinkles the weather guessers said, mum says it was more than a few sprinkles. She took no pictures, didn't want to get the flashy box wet.

Today she will stay home with me, said she needs to use the grass eater today too. She has to check if it will rain here today, in case she needs to get it done afore it rains.
I will sit in the windows and watch the world go by. Happy Weekend.

Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday. Well, we had a few days of nice, lots of sun, decent temperatures. Well, it got rainy on Wednesday, mum went out in it to get to the garden group meeting. Seems they have to report their volunteer hours through the puter now. Mum likes that. But with the rain, we got shrooms!

Finally this week the pee-o-knees have bloomed. That makes all of us happy.

The maples trees have gone crazy this year with producing seeds. All sorts of helly-copters coming down on us. Mum swept a good pile together and this was just half of the patio!
Bizzy week. Mum  has been pulling more weeds, seems the birds toss out the sunflower seeds and then they grow. Mum doesn't need a bazillion sunflowers! Here is one small pile.
That is it for this week. Have fun. Love Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

ManCat Monday

I just gave the cat a bath. It took forever to get all that hair off of my tongue! - Steve Martin

LOL, gotta love Mr Steve. I love to lay close to mum, so close that if she opens her mouth she gets my fur in her mouth. I crawl in bed with her and that is also why I like to sit on her boobities.

After a bizzy Caturday, mum had a quiet rest of the weekend. She did a bit outside work, some more inside work. Readed a book and finished it and started the next one. Even a little bit of crow-shay.

 Have a wonderful week.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Mum has been bizzy already this morning, to the point that she is forgetting again to let me post.

She went off early to get all her papers that had to be shredded at a shredding thing. Last year they did it in the business parking lot which was small and so lots of traffic jams. This year they set up in a big empty parking lot by the county offices. Much nicer. Mum was in and out within 15 minutes and no traffic jams.

Then as she headed back she stopped to shop for foods. When she got home she made herself a snack and shared some turkey with me. Now she says she needs to go use the grass eater. Her work is never done.
I will have to sit on her later to make her rest. Plus then I can get me some loves! Happy Weekend everyone.

Garden Thursday

Hello and welcome to Garden Thursday. Lots going on, it has been nicer, so things are growing, even the weeds!

So mum has started to attack the weeds this week. She doesn't like doing this, so she lets it go, then it actually is harder with more stuff to pull out.
Above, messy with dandy-lions, creeping charlie, then below with it all cleared out where you can really see the hostas.

Then the next section, mum cleared out around the hose, and opened up the day lilies. The back corner mum sprayed and they should die back.
Here is the big bag of weed that she had pulled out. That is a lot of weeds mum!

The maple seeds falling through the table mesh and sticking up. Mum thought they looked a bit funny. Below, our two eggy-plants. Both have blossoms which might be turning into something for mum to eat.

The flower that we have the most of right now. Alliums, big purple ball of flower.

Mum put in a few hours again at the community garden. They have been planting seeds as well as already growing plants. Mum planted the tomato plants and here is all the stuff they are trying to grow from seed.

The potatoes in the bucket and the peas coming up. Mum also planted some of the other stuff here, cukes and radishes and beets.

Plus in honor of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, mum is sharing a few pictures of her trip last fall. The were at Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and the American Cemetary.

Thanks to them for their sacrifice to keep the world free. Love, Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

ManCat Monday

And thou shall have dominion over all the beasts... except, of course, for cats. - Felines: 4 - 17

Yeah, you humans know that we cats are independent creatures. We might cooperate with you at some times, but no way will you dominate us!

Not a bad weekend, warmish. Caturday we had a few showers, but not much. Sunday was beauty-ful with lots of sunshine. Mum did her outside chores of getting the grass eater out, then she came inside, cleaned up and then did all the laundry. I napped a lot and watched her work.
Here I am holding her down after she finally sat down from her chores. You can see some of her crow-shay hats on the little table. She worked on that for a bit last night.
The other night when it was nice mum was sitting outside and took a picture of the sun. It was all fuzzy cuz the weather guesser says there was smoke up in the at-most-sphere. Mum cropped the sunny part and it sorta looks like it is on fire!
Mum said she had a nice time helping at the library on Caturday. When she left they already had over 160 kids signed up when she turned it over to the next volunteer. That included people signed up by the library staff last weekend. Mum will be back there today to help out again. About once a week she will go and help.

Yep, I got that sky raisin. Mum is happy as she doesn't like when they fly around her head, specially at night.

So that is about it for now. Everyone have a wonderful week.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Happy June! We got to a new month today. Plus mum isn't forgetting to let me post until the afternoon.

We had a super nice day yesterday. Warm, windy, open windows. Mum even brought the fans up from the dungeon to keep the air moving.
Nice to have a nap in the sunshine and have the big windows that go to the floor wide open. Plus there was a sky raisin flying around. He is somewhere in the house!
If I am not napping I want to be in mum's lap. Although she says she is going to the library today to help out with the reading program signup. Don't be gone long mum.

Happy weekend to all.

Garden Thursday

Hello and welcome to Garden Thursday. Spring has been slow coming but we think it is really here now. The crabby apple tree bloomed and is now making pink confetti in the yard, the lilacs are blooming and smell wonderful. Sorry we can't have smell-o-vision for you.

Mum got a few flowers to add to the corepopsis she got last week. Some really pale wave pet-unias and some white tuberous begonias.

They were planting at the community garden this week. Mum was planting the food plants, others were putting in more things in the pollinator garden part. Mum thinks they have about 80% of the food part planted. Still need to put in the broccolli and the tomaters. The got herbs planted too. Plus some of the planters are getting wire put around them so they don't feed the critters.

Bizzy, bizzy week for mum and all the other gardeners. Soon they can just enjoy what they have done and maybe harvest some stuff.

Love, Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.
