Hello and welcome to Garden Thursday. Lots going on, it has been nicer, so things are growing, even the weeds!
So mum has started to attack the weeds this week. She doesn't like doing this, so she lets it go, then it actually is harder with more stuff to pull out.
Above, messy with dandy-lions, creeping charlie, then below with it all cleared out where you can really see the hostas.
Then the next section, mum cleared out around the hose, and opened up the day lilies. The back corner mum sprayed and they should die back.
Here is the big bag of weed that she had pulled out. That is a lot of weeds mum!
The maple seeds falling through the table mesh and sticking up. Mum thought they looked a bit funny. Below, our two eggy-plants. Both have blossoms which might be turning into something for mum to eat.
The flower that we have the most of right now. Alliums, big purple ball of flower.
Mum put in a few hours again at the community garden. They have been planting seeds as well as already growing plants. Mum planted the tomato plants and here is all the stuff they are trying to grow from seed.
The potatoes in the bucket and the peas coming up. Mum also planted some of the other stuff here, cukes and radishes and beets.
Plus in honor of the 75th anniversary of D-Day, mum is sharing a few pictures of her trip last fall. The were at Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach and the American Cemetary.
Thanks to them for their sacrifice to keep the world free. Love, Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.
Your mum's garden looks terrific - especially after she pulled all those weeds out.

The 'O' Cats LURV hostas; they sleep underneath the big leaves where the earth is good, and the shade is purrfect. Amazes me the way a cat just melts into the garden; hidden from all.
ReplyDeleteYour mum has been very busy with the weeding and the garden is looking good. Why do weeds grow so much faster than the plants!
