Can you come up with a song about yourself or a favorite? I can!
(sung to the tune of Yellow Rose of Texas)
There's a Tuxie cat in Texas, that I am going to see,
Nobody else could miss her, not half as much as me.
She cried so when I left her, it like to broke my heart,
And if I ever find her, we nevermore will part.
She's the sweetest little Princess that Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, her tail is floofy too;
You may talk about your Kukka-Maria, and sing of Buzzerbee,
But the Tuxie Cat of Texas is the only cat for me.
When the Rio Grande is flowing, the starry skies are bright,
She walks along the river in the quiet summer night:
I know that she remembers, when we parted long ago,
I promise to return again, and not to leave her so.
She's the sweetest little Princess that Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, her tail is floofy too;
You may talk about your Kukka-Maria, and sing of Buzzerbee,
But the Tuxie Cat of Texas is the only cat for me.
Oh now I'm going to find her, for my heart is full of hope,
And we'll meow the songs together, that we meowed so long ago
We'll play the bango gaily, and we'll meow the songs of yore,
And the Tuxie Cat of Texas shall be mine forevermore.
She's the sweetest little Princess that Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, her tail is floofy too;
Nobody else could miss her, not half as much as me.
She cried so when I left her, it like to broke my heart,
And if I ever find her, we nevermore will part.
She's the sweetest little Princess that Texas ever knew,
Her eyes are bright as diamonds, her tail is floofy too;
You may talk about your Kukka-Maria, and sing of Buzzerbee,

I am issuing a challenge to my fellow bloggers, feline, woofie, bun or other critter. So I want you to try this too. The gang at And Then There Were Four...Eh have a nice song for Dolce. So I know you can do this.
I will give you a few days to think and work on your song, then post it. You can base it on a song that already exists, or make up your own lyrics, just let us know what tune to sing it by. You must mention at least one of our fellow blogging buddies in the lyrics, by name or nickname. But the more names, the better.
Let's see what you can do!
Quack.... the ducks must consider this one, if they are allowed to sleep for once in their lives they might be creative enough to do this....
ReplyDeleteWow, Derby, that am a hard challenge.....Let me see...........

Bravo! Excellent song!
ReplyDeleteDerby, you are so talented. I don't think we could ever create a song as wonderful as yours. PMB is one lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteGeorge
Holy Moly! You're setting the bar pretty high there! What a great song!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great song, but I doubt you'll see me writing one anytime soon. That would actually require...gasp...effort. I'd rather sleep.
ReplyDeletewe're in the middle of a limerick war among ourselves, but we'll try to get a song out too cause we likes that kinda stuff. yours is EXCELLENT!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, Derby!!
ReplyDelete**SWOONS**
That's so sweet, Derby! I don't know if I can make a song. I like the Blogs of Summer version of Boys of Summer.
ReplyDeleteI thought and thought and come up with a song! Here is a hint...you sing to Home On The Range. It is all ready to post on the 27th cuz I have other portant stuff to talk about on the 25th and the 26th. Momma says it sounds purty good and it mentions you!!! YEAH....

That is one cool song Derby. Sing it again Sam, um, we mean Derby. ~Merlin, Shadow, Ko Ko
ReplyDeleteDerby! What a great idea! You can count Emma and her crew in!
ReplyDeleteThis am a fun game isn't it? I writed one a while ago (and spelled Tuxie wrong too). Tangie had shared his ideas of changing songs around but then he wented to the rainbow bridge. Momma always sings songs about me with Grammie to real songs. Some of them are really funny! I'll have to think up another one...
ReplyDeleteDerby that is excellent. i will try to come with something half as good.
ReplyDeleteDerby, we're in! Now that I can get back to posting, I will be working on this in the next few days.
ReplyDeleteDerby, once again you prove how smart and talented Cats are. Princess Mia is very lucky.
ReplyDeleteLimericks are ALMOST as good as a song? Okay, then, we'll do a song...come on over to our bloggie in about 10 minutes or so. You've gotta give us a little time - there are 3 of us and we're bound to argue about it. See you in a few...
ReplyDeleteDerby - our song is way shorter than yours an so prolly not as good, but we hopes ya likes it!
ReplyDeleteDerby
ReplyDeleteYou got my finkin cap on...come on ofuur and see my song for my sweet Sammy!

I wrote a naughty song about Cheysuli. She, however, has taken this a step further and has written a whole Broadway play for Miles called the Little Shop of Ham.
