Garden Thursday

Hello and Welcome to Garden Thursday with Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

It has been wet here, lots of rain. We are safe but lots of places have had lots more rain, rivers are above flood stage, roads are closed. We are hoping that those near this are safe and be safe. Don't go driving into huge puddles on the roads!
We had some bunnie visitors the other day. They got up close to the house as they were looking for the extra seeds that the birds and sqwerls had tossed from the feeder.
Mum took pictures of the thistles growing. She knows she is going to have to work to get rid of them, but they do have purrty flowers and the birdies like them too.
This is a picture of our big trumpet vine which has started to bloom. Mum likes this as when she first moved here she noticed the little flitting movements. It was the hummer birds. Mum had never seen one before. So she knew then she had to get hummer feeders.

The only bad thing about the trumpet vine is t hat it is very invasive. Mum has to go through the garden cutting down the new plants that sprout all over the place. Some even in the grass that get mowed off.

That is all for now. Love, Virginger, Glimmer, Trooper and Fleur.

  4. We think butterflies would love the thistles, but we know the hummingbirds would definitely love that trumpet vine!

  6. Oh, I wish we had bunnies. They can eat your garden plants, but they sure are cute! We get hummingbirds at our flowers and we also have a feeder.

  7. Beautiful flowers and SQUEEEEE! BUNNIES! Thanks for letting us know about trumpet vine. Mom was thinking of getting one about a month ago but decided to think about it some more first. We don't think that's the vine for us!
