Pop Goes the Poppies

Mum is so happy her poppies have finally bloomed. She put them in the garden a few years ago and now they are happy enough to send out flowers. One showed up yesterday, then three more today.
The first one that was opened yesterday afternoon. It didn't last long as the flowers are fragile and we had rain overnight.
Here are the three that were opened this morning. You can even see the little protective green cover still hugging the flower a bit.
A close up of one of the protective covers. It looks all fuzzy but mum says it isn't really soft, but it isn't prickly either.

Plus there are two more poppie plants that haven't popped yet and they are different colors. Mum can't wait to see them open.
We had a bunny hanging out in our yard just off the patio on Wednesday night. Mum thought that was nice until she saw what he had done. He chewed the flowers off of the planter, and just the geraniums, they brought home from Grammie's grave. Mum was not happy with the bun.

So she moved the planter up on top of a little table she took outside. She normally had her inside plants on these tables. But now we don't have inside plants since I like to chew on them and get my tummy all upset.
PHE and Virginger were sitting right there but they weren't able to stop the bun from damaging the plant. Mum says it will be ok in the long run, but it chewed off both the open and unopned flower buds.
I just snoopervised as usual from my window perch. Mum, I think you need to get the grass eating monster out again. It grass is looking a bit shaggy, so get to work. Then you can come in and play with me, give me treats and snuggles. Get going lady!
